Very disappointed in the lack of trick-or-treaters in our neighborhood again this year. We only got four groups. Total!

We were so excited when we moved into this house because it was our first place in an actual neighborhood. We figured we'd run out of candy in the first hour. Instead, we barely give out any. (And our co-workers love it because we always end up taking the left-over candy to work.)

Speaking of Halloween frustrations, here's a blog piece I wrote a while back about an amusing Halloween encounter you might find amusing:

(Warning: It's a little grouchy and profanity-laced, so if that's not your bag, you may want to steer clear. But if you enjoy a bit of snark, it might give you a chuckle.) :wink1:

All the pics are wonderful. We bought an automated giant spider that launches itself at the kids. Mostly got it cause it scared the pee out of my boy that he had to get it. (Once he realized it was fake after i dragged him back INTO the store). We set bob the spider up in a shadow on the porch and now i can hear my son giggle everytime Bob scares the big boy ten year olds! Ive got a twisted sense of humor but i hope bob scares the Hell out of the snots that stole my spiders on strings from my trees last year and the ones that took my christmas gift box yard decorations too! BG those might be manageable but i think I will need proof of 15 new people you tell about Sideshow. One FB post or forum reply to a database doesnt count. What say you? Happy halloween to my collection of souls!!

I tried to warn the parents of two very sweet four year old girls to walk around bob the spider (to keep from setting him off). Silly mom says "oh look honey (to her husband) at this big spider here." She shined her light on it as Bob launched himself at her. She screamed down to the sidewalk. I looked at the husband and said " i just told her not to do that!" He shook his head sadly and followed her.

I guess I shouldn't complain...I suppose I've had around 35 or so. But the last few years I seriously had over 300. I'm gonna have a lot of left over candy.

Happy Halloween Chicky!!! :duff

P.S. That spider sounds super cool. I need one of those.

Omg, that took longer than you think. Next time I vote that my job is to run naked in the streets. Easier! However, I know lots of people will find sideshow amazing once they check it out. Some photos sent to chicky via pm as they contain personal info. I don't have an app for photo snapshots. Sorry.

I know a couple of people are willing to match my donation to the Humane Society. I'll leave the window open for a week if anyone else wants to partake. :)
I can't match your donation but I can definitely chip in some. Can you tell me how?

If there is one thing I know, it's about pet rescue and adoption. Our Humane Society is no kill. One of our babies was rescued from euthinasea. Please don't assume people know less than you.

educating people about the difference is how people learn. please don't get butt hurt because my intentions were good. it's not about you.

the humane society does kill animals in 'no kill' shelters that they deem unhealthy or untreatable or if space is a problem at the time. and you'd be very surprised on what that criteria consists of. one dog was euthanized by the humane society because from abuse, lost an eye. a pet rescue would have placed that animal. i have also found that older dogs with less chance of adoption are the ones to go first, healthy or not. maybe you should do some reaearch because the ONLY groups that don't kill ANY cats or dogs are pet rescues. here's the information right from a humane society in san antonio, texas.

I don't have any kind of charity page, I'm not snazzy enough for that. Basically what I would do is collect all the board member names and post them with their dollar donation amount. They/you would all paypal gift me your donation and then I would make that donation on the AHS web page. Then I would post their confirmation with the total $$ amount showing so that everyone here could see that I've done it. I would NEVER take another freak's money and keep it for myself. Also, I love the Austin Humane society. I took 6 feral cats there to be spayed/neutered. It's not a fun process to catch them but I will tell you that there is always at least 20 or more cats there on the TNR (trap, neuter, release) days. They do really good work here for animals.

Anyways, my donation amount is $10. Please feel free to donate any dollar amount. If the donation amount total does not hit a 10, meaning if it's $43, I'll put in the remaining amount to bump it to $50, etc.

my mother died october 15. she was a HUGE advocate for animal rescues because they, unlike ALL shelters, do not euthanize. they set up foster homes while placing these unwanted cats and dogs into loving homes. in my mother's will, she asked that in lieu of flowers for family and friends to make a donation specifically to a local 'pet rescue', not shelters. she also wanted it to be clear and not give to the aspca or other 'shelters' that euthanize.

my plea is for people to support a LOCAL to them pet rescue so these animals get placed instead of killed.

Aside from the pet stuff, I am truly sorry to hear about your mom. That is the one thing (besides losing Jenn) that haunts me the most. My thoughts are with you.

Chicky, I got a spam call from an 800 service trying to sell me a new alarm system. She asked me if I ever heard of them and I had said no, but I had adt already...but before she hung up I asked her if she ever heard of Sideshow Collectibles? Mentioned that she should check out Sideshowtoy.com.

Then I told her to have a nice day. :D

just wanted to say thanks to Chicky and Susan at SSC for the awesome Spook this year...some awesome prizes and gifts were giving out to a lot of people..i will def. be back next year(and be set up on twitter by then)....lol

Halloween was postponed last night due to the weather, but was back on in full swing again tonight!
We don't get kids at our house cause we are on the main street, so started a tradition last year driving my scooter around as a ghost. The kids in the neighborhood love it. They call me the ghost rider. haha. Just got back from another great ride! Can't wait til next year.
Here is a pic from last year as I haven't uploaded any from tonight yet. This year I had a blue scooter.
