I don't know how people without knowledge of what's going on inside a company can make comments like "can barely manage."From the outside it just looks like they're kicking ass.

Doing well with product quality yes, but you can't really say they're killing it in all aspects. The handling of the WD line is very worrisome.

Threezero is really doing well with individual figures, not lines. HT can get away with only doing one Crow figure or one Ichabod Crane figure - threezero moving so slowly after the two zombie pets is not a great strategy. They also don't have the volume to really make up for sluggish line development like HT does.

DKA, no offence, but you just proved my point. This isn't the kind of subject I enjoy discussing on the forum in general, and it's just so tiring to see these armchair quarterback comments when they're so empty and misinformed. No one outside Threezero knows whether their roadmap is strained or going precisely as planned. Same goes for insight into Hot Toys, making comparisons doubly moot.

WRT volume of releases, I see folks making these comments don't know the breadth of what's already been released, let alone what's already been through pre-order. On top of that, don't forget the large amount of 3A product Threezero are handling too.

I chalk it up to impatience. But if you're playing the long game, you'll value the quality.

I think threezero is doing a good job. If I remember correctly I once read that they gave priority to the new robocop line instead of TWD because it was a timed deal, which isn't surprising since the robocop reboot was underwhelming and The Walking Dead is still in force.

Right on, that's totally sensible. You might need to rush product out the door when you have a 12 month exclusive license, and that might need to bump out production temporarily of items for which you might have a 5 year exclusive license.

This is why so many companies in so many industries don't say boo or preview anything - it just doesn't work for every fan.

It does matter though. It is important to a degree to strike while the iron is hot, you never know when a license is going to go Dexter and rapidly lose poularity. Sitting on a red hot license like Walking Dead for months with no news is not a great way to generate interest in your product or inspire confidence in your company, regardless of whether or not it is going according to the companies plan. I am ready to throw tons of money in to GoT now - I might not in 2 years.

Threezero don't produce unlimited-run products and they work in a very different way than some other figure companies do. From everything they've done so far, I don't think they'll have any problems with mass-market licenses like the Walking Dead and GoT. If we got a Dexter announcement next month I'm sure that would do phenomenal business.

Better exposure through popular resellers and licensor properties (web sites, newsletters, etc.) are far more important than the apparent lull in their Walking Dead offering.

You can not really argue for them regarding the Walking Dead line. Horrible choice for the first characters, Michonnes pet zombies.... with no Michonne. Should have been Rick Grimes sheriff outfit, then hooded Michonne with pet walkers. Yet we have not had an official pre order announcement in a long long time sadly. Pursuing these oddball license like Titanfall and Chappie when you have established brands under license is just mind boggling. Majority of gamers do not buy collectibles and if they do it is not going to be more than the price of a console. Making a figure of a movie that will be kong forgotten by this year is strange as well.

They have licenses for three huge brands where multiple figures would be bought from each line. Breaking Bad, Walking Dead, Game of Thrones..... four figures from these three lines, pathetic really.

Companies that have a strong personality at it's head sometimes make choices that seem odd to the collector world at large. Hot Toys' Howard Chan REALLY likes Johnny Depp and seems determined to make every character that actor has played. Kim seems to really like video games and big robots.

If you can make money doing what you like, when you like, you're set. That's what I see in both Kim and Ash.

Personal preference in business can be bad. For a company as big as Hot Toys I do not think the Johnny Depp characters hurt them. As far as ThreeZero I think it does. They are great figures, just something I do not think should have been massed produced when they have these other licenses with fans demanding more and more releases.

You're entitled to your opinion, but you're showing that you don't know about the company nor its customers. You can do some google and facebook to see just how incorrect your estimation of their business prowess is.

Saying Threezero should cut back on robots is like saying Five Guys should cut back on hamburgers.

Licenses of the best tv show ever, most watched cable tv show, most watched premium cable tv show, three figures released, two are incomplete.

Personal preference vs world demand. Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones more popular than Chappie, Titanfall, TMNT new movie. You can not ague that, not at all. Titanfall was not even a top ten selling game for 2014. It seems to me some of these figures are more personal wants than massive demand. Guaranteed money in Walking Dead and Game of Thrones, not so much in the other product lines.

Your first mistake is in thinking that the world demands 1/6 scale collectibles. Your second is in forgetting that Threezero continues to have the licenses to everything you've mentioned, they'll be the only ones to capitalize on the releases, regardless of when they happen. Third, thinking that their timetable is something they haven't thought about. Fourth, no Twin Peaks figure license has been announced by anyone (the first part of your first sentence).

You can buy what you want and complain as much as you want, but that's not going to sway my enjoyment of what's being released nor is it likely to have any effect on how Threezero runs their business. It will however probably wear thin, reducing my enjoyment of participating in this thread. You accused others of "hate" in another thread, but it's precisely what I see you bringing here and it's kind of uncalled for. Not to mention the topic of Walking Dead is completely irrelevant and off-topic here. It's just boring and tiring. We get it. You can give it a rest.

You seem like you have to be right about everything :lol

I am not hating at all. Read. I compliment them in any thread I post... as I did this one. Stop putting words in my mouth. I am questioning there business of strategy, not complaining, so stop putting words into my mouth.

The fact of the matter is... Kim makes figures he likes rather than what I like. I think what I like is more popular than what he likes (actually I know it is). Better business strategy is to think with your head, not the heart.

So please stop calling me out and spewing lies against me. All this over the height of a Stormtrooper is beyond sad. Grow up and put the differences behind. Okay? Okay. Looking forward to our future discussions. :wave

Edit: "world demand" was in reference to the world of 1/6th collectors, not the world.

Make the releases why they are still super popular, sell high.

Never watched Twin Peaks, probably should, i was referring to Breaking Bad, my personal opinion here but no doubt in the top five of best tv shows.

Lies against you? Oh brother.

What's to be right about? I've made no claims except to say that we (myself included) don't know. We can't know what drives Threezero. It's speculation. You don't have access to their financials and sales numbers do you? Some speculation can be fun, but this, what we're discussing right here, started with complaints and moaning, nothing more nothing less. It's tired. It's beyond a waste of time and doesn't help anyone.

If you need to move on from a license because the product isn't being released to your satisfaction for whatever reason, then so be it.

Breaking Bad was good. It's in my top 10, not in my top 5.

I pre order Heisenberg, buying Tyrion and Ned Stark, planning to pre order the TMNT. I like the figures, will collect them, just think/wish that priorities should be elsewhere and release times should be quicker. Also will get the pet walkers once another figure from Walking Dead is up for pre order.

I have a background in finance and accounting. ThreeZero's growth has certainly raised an eyebrow with me. I have wondered at the volume of licenses they've taken on relative to their historical offerings, coupled with the perplexing handling of the Walking Dead line. While they have stalled on the later, they've brought a lot of mech/droid-type figures to market and judging by BBTS stock, Sideshow's sales, etc. many of them have not sold well, at least not in the American market.

As a private company we have no way of knowing their debt structure or cash flow. That said, I would demand a high interest rate if they asked to borrow money from me, because while they have some stellar licences, they have not seemed to get in a groove releasing and previewing products in a consistent manner.
