Likewise. My plan is to give it a fair chance, but if they haven't won me over after 4-5 episodes, I'll drop it. Not going through that again.

I will say, that trailer does make it seem pretty good. I'm interested and I'll watch it when it begins next month.

Trying to treat this exactly like the original series when that first started. Knew nothing going in and it hooked me in the first episode. Similar situation here as I'm not familiar with the book this one is based on. Fingers crossed ...

As someone who has also not read any of Martin's books, I understand this well haha

I don’t know how many people will spare a few minutes but unlike Hot Toys, ThreeZero’s customer service does usually response after a few days. I wonder if a bunch of emails about the GOT line will get another reveal going.

If the past is any indication, every year they tend to do three or four GOT previews/preorders in a row, usually about a month (or less) apart for that year's releases. So I would expect the next one to be revealed in the next couple of weeks.

However, if they manage to pick up the House of the Dragon license, that could totally blow up that schedule. One way or the other, I don't think it will be long till we find out ...

So, I really enjoyed House of the Dragon’s premier last night. I feel there’s a lot of potential being set up for a strong show if they put the same care and passion into it like seasons 1-6 of Game of Thrones got.

I was really hoping ThreeZero would have announced Robb Stark or Kahl Drogo or something this morning to celebrate the new show. After episode one, I’m ready for a new collectible from this line.

Matt Smith was awesome. Very excited for him on this show, I hope he isn’t killed off anytime soon. Would definitely buy a figure. Great actor.

Solid first episode but will be hard to live up to the original GOT.

Wonder what (if any) figures we'll get from House of Dragons.

I did not realize (until after watching Episode 1) that the new show will be jumping timelines - so we'll be getting young and older versions of the same characters (with different actors).

I didn't even pick up on that -- the different timelines.
I didn't either at first - where I actually noticed it was in that behind the scenes package that aired after the episode ended. It was actually cool to hear the cast and producers talk about the show, but I noticed that Milly Alcock was credited as playing "Young Rhaenyra Targaryen". I went over to IMDB and saw that the second credited name - after Paddy Considine (Viserys) and before Matt Smith (Daemon) was Emma D'Arcy, also playing Rhaenyra Targaryen.

So, I'd imagine we'll get a time jump fairly early on and this first episode was to establish the spark that sets off the show, which is Rhaenyra being named the Heir to the Iron Throne.

Yup. I believe the time jump is in the neighborhood of 15 to 18 years. But I'm not sure if they're going to do a couple episodes with the younger actresses and then switch over to the older ones for the rest of the season or if they'll be hopping back and forth. Personally, I'd like them to jump around the timeline a little. Even though they'd do an occasional flashback on the old show, I found it a little limiting how fiercely linear they always were.
