Yeah, hence imo I gave this figure a score of 6. I got the ex ver hoping they would have improved the headsculpt, but nope. Not at all.

If you leave the headsculpt to one side, and use the full helmet one, the overall figure isnt too bad. Its your usual threezero standard affair with semi detailed suits and paint apps. However when you add the cost for this figure, you would expected some surprises at least. Ie. led lights or SOME chest/crunch articulation, rear magnets to hold the rifle on his back etc

Im not sure if you have the figure on order, but for some ppl its easy for them to lighten up when they just saved themselves money by checking others review first. I got screwed with 3A's MC, and to follow up with this is quite disappointing. I mean, this isnt as bad, but it should have been better for the price ive paid for.

I do have this on PO. I ordered through three zero website back in Dec 2014. Are these shipping now? I haven't gotten any notice yet.

They should be. I know of one other collector that received theirs today. I got mine today too. I ordered through their official online store too. They will send out email notification before shipping. check your spam folder in case it got there.

Nothing in my span folder either. Are you located in the US? I am in Boston.

Im located in HK, but I jumped straight on the preorder when they first opened the preorders.

You should get them first before the other retailers.

OK. Where you are in HK, you are much closer and would be one of the first to receive it. I'll give it a couple of weeks before I contact them. Thanks.

That would make logical sense, however not even the local retailers got theirs in stock yet. If i remembered correctly, some members here from US got their GOT Tyrion before I did and we all ordered from the official online store. So I guess it could depend on first come, first served.

Anyways, did you get the ex or the standard? I dont think you will miss out if you didnt get the ex. Hope you get yours soon.

I wrote a bit of what I think of the figure in the same post.
Agree he is way better than the SDCC Mexican, but still not there for the price we paid for. Plus my one has a wonky beard:/
I look forward to your review too.
Shame this figure does not have light up feature to make the figure pop.

Lets just say this Shepard isnt my favorite thing on the Citadel.

Thanks for the honest review - I really wanted to get this, but was waiting for a review. Now I will not get it. Thanks for saving me money!

Im glad to have given you a small insight in helping you make your decision. We all use our hard earn money on these figures, so I try to be honest and fair and not be biased against threezero. I also have their other figures and I give great praises where it deserves.

If this figure was set at a much lower price, it could have swayed some of the opinions, but most importantly for me was that headsculpt ex ver. Sadly that was a poor turnout. Somehow I just want to use the helmet ver on the figure now instead of that head. Funny, how I pay an ex ver just to use it as the retail ver.

If somehow you find this at a lower price and you prefer using the helmet ver, I would recommend it since the body and joints are good, minus the none upper body movement. TBH, what other choice do we have apart from this and play arts kai. articulated figure wise.

To be quiet honest, I do not care about the head sculpt. I just care about the figure with helmet on. It seems that you think it is not worth the money irrespective of the bare head sculpt, right?

If I ever find this for cheap I'll get it, but won't pay full price. Such a shame, Mass Effect is one of my favorite series but they need to up the quality.

Jon Snow has been delayed a bit and he'll be my first 3Zero fig so I'm anxious to see how he turns out.

Lucky for you that you are not interested in the headsculpt. I can understand why since many players use their own customised ver in the game or just wear the helmet throughout.

Even when the preorder started, the price was set quite high for what it is. At the time, it was considered one of the more expensive pieces released from threezero. I was willing to accept the price and hoping the suit alone to look as shiny and vivid as the promo shots lead to believe.

The final outcome is that the silvers/grey parts arent shiny and more of a dull effect. The reds/whites of the arm stripes and the N7 logo on his chest armour and sides of the helmets arent vibrant at all. I do like the hands as the fingers are more flexible and allows better holding of the weapons, just beware of wet black paint.

Hence if you dont think about the cost and you like the helmet ver, then sure get it as its a better version of the play arts kai. However if you count the cost of the figure, it really isnt worth that asking price. Its one of those figures where if you are a fan, get it. If you like to paint it yourself, get it. Its not like a new coat of paint cant fix those issues.

Just to highlight the main issues:-

Paint app, as default its not worth what you paid for. Easy fix is you can repaint it yourself. This only applies to ppl that wants to do this.
headsculpt - Not looking like default shepard at all. No easy fix for this sadly, unless you are a master of sculpting lol
Articulation - Upper chest has no articulation at all. No fix for this at all. Body armour is one piece.

One of my all time fav games. Im happy threezero took on this project, just wanted more for the money they were asking for.
Agree, if you want to pay less for it, do wait for price to drop. Plus I can only recommend the retail ver. Skip the ex.

Recently threezero figures have started to delay a little. Breaking bad has been pushed to Oct. We are not sure if that will affect Chappie as that is suppose to be out in Oct too.

In other news, expect Dorohedoro to be announced for preorder at the end of this month. Another figure that I really want. Luckily its a lizard headsculpt, Im sure they cant mess this one up as its not a human headsculpt lol.

They definitely do better with the non human sculpts. I'll be interested to see how the final product turtles look. Imagine spending $800 up front and they wind up like Shepard.

It's funny when unlicensed figs look better than licensed ones... I've got the Art Figures Dredd, and it looks much better than Shepard, going off of your pics.

havent gotten mine but bracing for disappointment if judging from the pics given.
hurgh and i was thinking if shepard turned out good i wanted to get on jon snow and dragon age alistair but this makes me not trust their human headsculpt

So far they have released four human head sculpts.

Ned, Tyrion, Isaac and Shepard.

I'll let you guys be the judge.
They can't keep getting straight A's for all their sculpts so there's bound to be one or a few that gets shat on.

Moving forward I hope there's more A's and B's than F's

i reckon shepard is a big F?

jon might turn out okay, but alistair does not look like the character, same case as the dead space isaac, but at least that one didn't get worse like shepard apparrently did

Haha sounds like ALL their GAME character headsculpts come out worse. Their anime headsculpts seems to be ok judging from photos. Stuff like Ruby, Kaiman, Berserk. Plus their Tv ones are ok too such as Ned and Tyrion and BB stuff.

I don't understand how that Walter White figure can look that good, yet Shepard looks like slop. There is just as much reference for game characters as there are actors, and Shepard was even based off a male model. No excuse for that.

Threezero should post the sculpters name for each product on their packaging, then at least we know who did what.

they could have worked with bioware/ea and made use of the game files to print out a 3d prototype. or rather they should have
