Re: ThreeZero Toys: 1:6 AMC's The Walking Dead

Relax, fellas. :lol ThreeZero's working on the Rick proto. Hopefully we see it by spring.

And I like the sound of ThreeZero picking up the Matrix license.

I like the sound of that too, but it looks like Threezero is going to make a APU for its first Matrix figure, which once again seems like a random choice similar to Michonne's pet zombies or the Snow Suit from Dead Space 3. Why not Michonne first? Why not the Engineering Suit from Dead Space first? Why skip the main characters as first releases when they are the best way to get collectors invested for the long run? Buying secondary characters makes sense to me once I've got the main characters.

At least we know that Michonne is on the way (someday), which is why I was okay with buying the zombie pets. I'm not dropping a few C-notes on a Matrix APU until I get Neo, Trinity, Morpheus and Smith.

I suppose we're not privy to the vagaries of licensing and likeness rights, which are probably the reasons for the apparent randomness in character selections.

Re: ThreeZero Toys: 1:6 AMC's The Walking Dead

I'm guessing it's more difficult for ThreeZero to secure likeness rights for human characters, whether it's TWD or The Matrix. I have no idea whether ThreeZero has to negotiate with just the studios/production companies or if the actors are involved as well.

Don't forget Merle, Daryl, and Michonne.

Merle was first shown in July 2013!

Daryl in October 2013.

Michonne and Sheriff Rick in December 2013.

It's now February 2015. Michonne's Zombies were released over a year ago.

Yeah... hopefully we'll see a new preorder soon. :lol

I've tried giving them the benefit of the doubt, especially with how well the Pets turned out, but they showed off their first Merle Prototype with the Pets over a year and a half ago. We have the pets in hand and don't even have a pre-order for Merle. And about the sounds of it, he won't be the next figure released. That just infuriating. That tells me ThreeZero either needs to stop picking up more licenses so they can focus on their current lines, hire more staff, or let this license go so someone else can actually produce something.

The fact we've had like 5 characters teased in various stages of completion before we even got our first Game of Thrones teaser is very frustrating - especially since GoT already have their second pre-order done and close to shipping. We've only had the Pets for TWD. I guess technically that makes them equal with two figures a piece, but the Pets were sold as a single set so it feels worse than it is.

Either way you slice it, ThreeZero has seriously been ignoring this line, and I feel its gotten to the point its just disrespectful to the fans and the licensor. How much product sales is AMC missing out on because ThreeZero is dragging their feet by focusing on licenses they frankly shouldn't have picked up in the first place, and people are buying kits and bootlegs to get their Walking Dead fix. If ThreeZero doesn't show something by next week at Toy Fair, I think its safe to assume we won't be getting anything further out of them anytime soon.

Re: ThreeZero Toys: 1:6 AMC's The Walking Dead

I don't think any sales have been lost. Whenever they release the rest of the line, they'll end up selling as many figures as at any other point in time, especially with AMC's help in marketing them. It's unfortunate only to those of us that follow this closely, because there are many people out there, probably the ones who will account for the majority of sales, who don't even know these things are being worked on yet.

Three Zero has in my eyes proven to be the hot producer of 2014 and early 2015 - they're undergoing some growing pains as they've never dealt with this kind of volume nor licensing in their history. Once that's figured out however, they're going to be a very serious force in this hobby. I'm still far more excited about TWD and GoT product from 3Z than I am about anything from Sideshow or Hot Toys, including all their SW stuff (which has always been my focus in collecting).

Re: ThreeZero Toys: 1:6 AMC's The Walking Dead

Wow more rant and impatient comments yet again. Damn does it really make lives that hard?

I also want them to release something for this line too but jeez I don't make it a big deal out of it. This hobby has always been a waiting game. Get over it.

Whilst waiting for these I can look forward to their other stuff. I have more interest in this company now than ever.

Mass effect, game of thrones, last man standing, dorohedoro, berserk. These are already certain buys from me. I'm happy for them to spread these out.

If I were ThreeZero, I'd put Rick up for PO next, not Daryl, Michonne or Merle. It'd be a great way to rejuvenate the line/buy some more time. :lol It's supposedly putting the finishing touches on the proto.

Re: ThreeZero Toys: 1:6 AMC's The Walking Dead

Once preorders go up., it will be like when is it shipping, where to buy exclusive without buying from the official online store, when is the next preorder already etc etc

Haha no wonder why...I'll be sick of answering the same questions.

Re: ThreeZero Toys: 1:6 AMC's The Walking Dead

Just noticed ThreeZero posted pics from wonderfest2015.

I find it strange there are no WD figures at all, not even the pets :dunno

Re: ThreeZero Toys: 1:6 AMC's The Walking Dead

i have to agree with the ranterz on this one... its borderline embarrassing now... they keep adding more licences.. why? they cant even keep up with the ones they have... walking dead has been totally neglected by threezero, why do the keep rolling out crap when they have one of the hottest tv shows on there books?

mind boggling from threezero

Re: ThreeZero Toys: 1:6 AMC's The Walking Dead

All these licenses they own, their operations could ramp up tenfold if they had the capacity to get more out.

Re: ThreeZero Toys: 1:6 AMC's The Walking Dead

I think they really need to get something about before HT onslaught of AoU and Star Wars figures hit. Most collectors dabble in several different licenses and I believe many of us will be getting figures from those 2 licenses.

I do think these figures will sell well, I just think people might have to cut back if they are wanting to be all in for some of the upcoming lines. ThreeZero requires payment upfront from their site and collectors might not have that cash just lying around come mid year.

Re: ThreeZero Toys: 1:6 AMC's The Walking Dead

Whatever ThreeZero produces within a license I'm interested in,gets first dibs for my money. :lecture For me, this is the company to watch in 2015. I'm liking some of the SSC and HT SW stuff very much, and SW is my most prolific license, but none of it has me as excited for the hobby as what 3Z is doing.

Re: ThreeZero Toys: 1:6 AMC's The Walking Dead

ThreeZero is definitely where it's at if you're tired of the Disney properties. Now it's just a matter of cranking out high-quality product in a timely, or at least a more-timely, manner.

Good info to know Yankee, thanks. I haven't been sitting on pins and needles for a long period of time like others here. I'll wait it out for now. Hell after checking around I am almost tempted to grab the pets! They look pretty damn good and can be had for just under $90 each on Amazon right now if anyone else is interested. Great deal considering the price of other stuff out there.

I think the show being so popular could be part of the problem. They know as well as we do that TWD isn't going anywhere anytime soon. In fact it continues to grow and it has a really dedicated fan base thats ready to throw money down whenever they decide to release them. I agree with Bmunch though that it is getting to be disrespectful and unfair to the fans having to wait this long while they continue to pick up license that are nowhere near as anticipated as TWD is. Just imagine what would happen if HT decided to put the Avengers AoU line off because they decided to focus on redoing Residant Evil characters or some ****. Its starting to feel like that's what threezeros doing here.

Re: ThreeZero Toys: 1:6 AMC's The Walking Dead

I think one of the main characters as the first release figure would have been a better move on their part. I never bought the pets as I don't really know whether I want them in my collection with Michonne, or not. Her character as moved a long way past this look, so I'm really not certain.

They started the GoT line with a great choice in Tyrion, so I think they would have been smarter to do the same thing here. We're looking at a likely 2 year gap between the first and second release for this line.
