This looks like a dad in cosplay. Body looks awful.

I was seriously considering this while we wait for ht to make a proper 2.0 of theirs. But that’s looking rough.

This figure is for people with money to burn, and no patience for the Q2 2024 release of the next Tobey figure.

When HT gets the height, body proportions, and ankles right I’ll buy that one too. Until then I’ll take my chances with this one.

The only advantage of getting this is having a cheap figure to pose without worrying about damage. The HT figure can stay in a neutral pose and this can do all the dynamic stuff

Ok so this is actually a decent figure. Tight joints and the colors are not as bright as all the pics make them out to be. The blue is very dark but for some reason it shows up too bright in pics. The red is deeper and not as pale as the HT. It also has some dark shading spots like the muscle shading on the screen used costume. I’ll take some daylight pics tomorrow for comparison.

The figure is much better in proportion than the HT. That one had thighs that were too thick and arms that were too muscular. I have to say that the ankles on this have much better functionality than the HT. No rubber boot to rebound from positioning and no brittle ankle socket which lead to a lot of weak ankles. This one’s ankles are strong and can hold their position easily. The feet are one piece and connected like a regular figure ankle.

The muscles underneath are not the body they chose. It’s actually a black stretchy pleather like material body suit that has padded muscles between the spidy suit and the body. It actually helps posing because the fabric is able to slide over the pleather under suit easier than the HT which had a fabric under suit that bunched up after posing. Plus it’s much better because it’s cinched at the ankles and wrists so it doesn’t ride up all the time and look wrinkled or too short at the wrists. I also like how they cinched the suit around the wrists so the sleeves tuck into the hands.

I also like how they made the head neck separate the same as the black suit spidey so you can pop a Peter Parker headsculpt onto the body. The HT red suit had bad chicken neck going on when posing straight on and the suit wasn’t tight around the neck because it was all one piece so it flared out making the neck look too wide. Plus the extra fabric that made the top of the head look bumpy is not present on this figure.

The height is still too tall. The original was 11 5/8” and this one is 11 3/4”. McGuire is 5’8”so the actual figure height should be about 11 5/16”. Out of the box it’s taller than the Holland spidey by a 1/4 inch. It doesn’t sound like much but when you have him stand next to the figures that are supposed to be taller he should look like a kid height wise.

All in all I’d say it’s a better figure and much improved from the HT in almost every way. It’s a bit scarce on accessories comparatively speaking to the HT but it makes up for it in esthetic and functionality
I actually modified mine to be shorter and I’m much happier with it now. This is the Raime Spider-Man I’m looking for.

Straight out of the box. Bear in mind I darkened my Homecoming spidey to look more like the Civil War colors.

How’s the material can it handle extreme Spidey poses. I ordered

How’s the material when posing him , can it withstand extreme spider poses? I took advantage of Comic Sanctorum‘s sale with the 15% off and got him for a cheaper price . Hopefully get him in hand by the end of the week. Also can the lenses pop out like the HT version..I was thinking of swapping the lenses

He actually looks good in Justin's video. I'm gonna get him until Hot toys Tobey comes out in 2023(at earliest), as i have a SM collection with several villains and only Holland's Spidey. Tobey is my favorite, and i'd rather get a temporary Tobey than wait nearly 2 years without one.

Looks great, and I was almost tempted, but a deal breaker for me is the eyes and that stitching on the forehead. I used to have the HT Maguire Spidey, and one of the coolest thing about it is the eyes. Its very detailed and very screen accurate. The eyes on this looks like it was just handbrushed.
My OCD would also be focused on that stitching on the forehead.

I'm very confident Hot Toys will eventually revisit this suit since they have done many of the costumes on the videogames, and this suit is one that was heavily requested.
I feel like there's no way Hot toys would pass and not do it.

Other than that though, I will say this is a nice figure and I do think its better than the older Hot toys version.

Fabric is very similar to the HT. Very stretchy and very forgiving. Outfit pops immediately back to its original shape after extreme poses. I think it’s a bit thicker than the HT because you can’t see the undersuit through the fabric. HT was very thin. Plus the rubber under suit makes it he outfit slide easier so there’s no bunching up after you go back to a neutral pose.
