Took me under 5mins to download the Beta but my broadband speed is 125 Mbps.

The game it's self though is so much fun. Fast paced & non-stop action
 
The game is open to evryOne now it's under demos to download they want to test the servers to see if they crash
 
Has the cloaking been an issue for anyone? I haven't played, but I groaned when I saw that it was included. Cloaking has always sucked in multiplayer games from my experience.
 
No problems with the cloaking. It's pretty effective against the Titans, but not so much for the other players. My only gripe is that the shotgun and the smart pistol seem really overpowered.
 
I'm glad to hear it's not annoying (yet), but I don't think it's necessary at all. Watching people zip around the map, I'd think it would be doable to get on an enemy mech without being invisible. It should be hard to do anyways.

From what I've seen, those guns are very op. Smart pistols are ridiculous.
 
It is necessary because of the amount of chaos on the maps. Especially if you're attempting to take down a Titan with your rocket launcher. The Titans have a HUD that alerts when there's an RPG locking on so you'd be a sitting duck if you didn't have the cloak. It's especially helpful if you're traversing open areas. I don't see how it can be annoying because it's limited to short spans of time, and you come uncloaked once you shoot at something.
 
If cloaking wasn't in the game, you wouldn't miss it. Most shooters get along fine without it. If you get lit trying to take down a mech on foot or running across an open area, thems the breaks IMO. You SHOULD be a sitting duck against a mech and have to figure out another way to deal with them. Like using your own mech, or outsmarting them or avoiding them if need be.
 
I'm liking the game a lot. But (I will be the only one in history who will say this) I think it's more fun in the beginning when the titans aren't in the game yet.

I also expected the graphics on X1 to be more on par with BF. when you're climbing into your titan the cockpit looks like ****.

Im kinda with ya on the graphics. When your jumping out the ship at the start of the game, it looks a bit turd but most of the time it looks really good.

Is that because it's CoD before the mechs show up?
 
Ok so I've racked up about 6 hours in the Beta. Here's my review:
- It's very fun

- The game is dynamic

- The maps are way too small. I hope the two in the Beta are not representative of every map we can expect in the full game.

- The matches are too short.

- There are only a few maps, but this is only the Beta so I hope there's at least 5 or 6 in the main game and the environments are varied.

- Non destructible environments bother me.

- The AI/Bots are pretty bad.

- The mechs lack customization. I hope this changes in the full game.

My only kills have been from the shotgun, as I suck at FPS. . . I've never been killed with a shotgun or Smart Pistol. I have been killed by pretty much every other weapon though :\

So, no I don't think the shotgun or Smart Pistol are overpowered :p
 
Played a little bit today. It's fun, but it's still not doing much for me. It's got great control and when it's not lagging, it runs like butter. Things I expected from these guys. Graphics are good at times, decent at other times. It still feels like an old engine game because of a lack of damage modeling, but it looks pretty good overall. Maps are small, but I expected that. I think they're big enough for the game.

One thing I noticed right away was a problem BF has. If people have access to rooftops, they'll camp on rooftops. They can't help themselves. It's annoying. The smart gun is actually a weak weapon now that I've tried it. Very limited. It smoked the grunts, but what doesn't. The shotgun is pretty solid. Not the greatest range of course, but is pretty deadly up close. The carbine is easily my favorite and seems to be the best all purpose weapon in the game. Mechs are fun, but I do find myself getting blow to **** pretty fast. Every pilot has rockets of some kind, so they just gravitate toward the nearest enemy Titan and kick it's a$$.

The Grunts are useless. They don't count as kills and they're not worth much in the way of points. They exist to get you your Titan a little faster and to give the game a greater sense of action. I'd rather they had even a couple more players rather than these bots.

This time with the game hasn't helped me get more excited for it. It still feels like a suped up CoD with mechs. I'll try to keep an open mind and give it more time though.
 
I think the map size is perfect for the game remember its only 6v6 but there is lots going on with the mechs and bots. I think the graphics look better than what most people give it credit for do I wish it looked better yeah but we can only hope that the final game graphics look a little more polished but to be honest what we played in the beta will prob look the same in the final version. I am very happy with the way this game turned out Ido wish the bots were more smarter maybe with an auto update patch respawn can fix there ai but thats why you don't get many points for killing them I guess lol.
 
I see a lot of people complaining on respawn forums that they want kill streaks and destructible buildings Im fine without killstreaks and if there were destructible buildings than there will be no wall running and the parkour elements would be gone.

I agree with this. All I do now in the game is have that Minion finder and go on a killing spree. I will try to kill a player if I run into them, but would rather concentrate and killing minions to lower the time limit on the titans. This kind of playstyle increases my chances of winning a game, but at the expense of that good feeling of taking down a real player.

I think a balance can be found. Some destructibility and interactivity with the environments that doesn't turn the place into a parking lot. I'm fine without killstreaks. The mechs more or less act as killstreaks anyways.
 
Just seen titan fall will ship with 15 maps just seen on the titan fall forums someone cracked code on the pc game that had all the map and weapons info. Maps are as followed angel city,colony,fracture,relic,airbase,boneyard,corporate,outpost,lagoon,rise,smugglers cove,training ground,overlook,nexus,and 02. Game modes as are follow attrition hard point capture the flag , and team deathmatch its rumored team death match will have a mode with no bots.
