Speaking of the new show, I really hope Mikey's new catch-phrase "booyakasha" is merely a precursor to finding his true calling, early on, with "cowabunga." It's Mikey's thing. It's universally his. So is pizza. Well, in a way those are part of all the Turtles, but Mikey specifically.

Besides, while booyakasha can be used as a greeting, it is also a highly derogative word in swahili, meaning "death to the white man." Plus, it just sounds stupid. So, that aspect of the show is already losing points with me.

Anyway, I hope I'm not alone in this, as that will likely be the one thing I won't like about the show. And since Mikey was always my favorite character as a kid... I know it's going to bug me to no end. Still, I have faith in the show and I pray the team is listening to fan feedback.

Lol wait so that what that means and nobody even tried to look that word up. They might as well say **** me when they go into battle. Lmao but booyakasha means death to the white man . Omg wow are you serious. I guess this new breed of turtles are racist lmao.

There are a few meanings to it, one is a greeting, as I said. Another however, is a derogatory swahili term. Not like kids will know the difference, but still.

At any rate, I think it sounds stupid. The first time I heard it I quite literally cringed. I want cowabunga. That's Mikey. Not this "booyakasha"... thing. I know the guy that plays Mikey can be a bit weird, so I'm going to hazard a guess and say it was his idea, lol.

The show looks like crap, the rap **** intro too so, if i can't get to the mute button in time for the intro then i will throw my converter at the tv, if i hear booyakasha then too late for the mute button, converter is getting another toss.

Of course i am joking..this world is going down the ****tter though.

Yea, they canned Bebop and Rocksteady but then go and make the turtles all ghetto and start spouting racial **** no one will understand, i smell subliminal Zionist Jew propaganda brewing over at Nickelodeon.

No offence to all Jews but, these guys run Nickelodeon and well, if they let booyakasha slide then F them, if this same kinda **** were aimed at any other race and they were made aware of this, they would be straight up Nickelodeons ass for this kind of thing so, i don't consider myself too crazy for this upsetting me a tad for once.

Give it time..

And the show looks crap to me, like some piss poor Wii game..the CG is that bad and environments look so empty and lifeless.

I actually like virtually everything about the show so far, except the booyakasha catch-phrase. In fact, I'm not even insulted by it's use, it's just kind of like... why? Why would you want that broadcast to kids, who will then grow up and likely find out the various meanings of it? And don't think it won't be the subject of a friendly hang out one day, or dinner table tabloids.

Anyway, as I've said before... it just sounds soooo stupid. Don't know why they initially ditched cowabunga for it. How does cowabunga get old? Not only is the series incorporating a lot of the OT elements, but so is the toy line. So then, why exclude cowabunga right off the bat? I'm really hoping it's all a theatrical stunt and Mikey adopts his true catch-phrase early on, as I mentioned before.

I am also loving the new show (from what I've seen) it might be the initial excitement over new turtles but I think this show won't be bad at all. Bakura, you're not the only one who doesn't understand/like Mikey's new catchphrase. I too have hopes cowabunga will make it's way back. I like the intro a lot actually, of course they had to put a "rap" in. That's them catering to the younger generation, and I'm completely fine with that. I'm not expecting this show to be as awesome as the old cartoon, it can't be, I'm not 8 anymore. :lol

Sean Astin as Raph is awesome, had no idea the American Pie dude is voicing Leo, and the old Raph is Donnie now? Should be good. Thanks for posting that video! A couple things I'm not so sure about is April being 16 (again it's a kids show so I guess I get that), and Splinter's voice/age. I'll try to reserve too much judgement until I've watched the show. Can't wait for Wal-mart to stock the Nick Turtles. Will for sure be getting a set.

Splinter being younger and more fit and active is likely to try and have him more involved in the story arcs. As for April, I believe the age thing will work, to some extent. She can more easily relate to the Turtles now. Although, I do hope the original April remains in some shape or form and that she isn't merely an entirely new incarnation.

I remember someone posted on purchasing the classic TMNT from Hastings? Whoever did, did they screw up the order? FYI, there's a promo code 20% off on TREND items. I got the classic TMNT on PO at BBTS, but purchased it at Hastings just now because it cost only $50.49 shipped.

Promo code FRIDAY

I'm still on the fence about getting the Classics line. The finger articulation on those looks kind of... odd, in my opinion. By that, I mean the plastic slabs/flaps over the joints.

Speaking of figures, I finally received my Amazon.com Nickelodeon TMNT set! :clap

That said, I must warn any and all MOC collectors out there. If you are thinking of picking up the new Nickelodeon Turtles, or even the Classics line, and want to keep them "Mint on Card," I would suggest seeking other alternatives besides Amazon.com, even if you have promotional offers. Get them from someone who carefully packages their goods, like BBTS or whatever. Or hunt them down locally.

Luckily, I had previously found the entire set at Walmart for under $30 and got pretty nice, crisp looking packages, as well as figures. The set I ordered from Amazon... well, let's just say I'm not impressed with their service, at all. Can't remember the last figure I ordered directly from Amazon, but this is just appalling. Thankfully, I didn't pay full price for the lot... and thank heavens I resisted the urge to open the set I found at Wally World.

Now, you may be thinking, "okay, that's pretty unprofessional, but I don't see the problem?"

Yeah...

These were essentially thrown in there and crammed shut. The box is overly small to boot. And no, there is no outside damage to the box itself.

Mikey seems to be the only one that survived almost wholly intact, with very minimal damage to the packaging. Lion-O was from a merchant, so I don't know if this was all sent to him and he packaged it or if in the end Amazon is responsible, but either way this is pretty lame. I don't normally collect MOC stuff these days. In fact, the last figure I bought and kept MOC was the 2008 Movie Masters Dark Knight Joker. So, I can't say for certain whether this is a common trend at Amazon lately, but I won the jackpot at any rate.

Lion-O is not amused!

And kitty is not pleased!

Pretty bad when even my cat is hovering over the box looking like someone just **** in her meow mix. :lol

Anyway, just wanted to give a heads up to MOC collectors out there thinking of ordering Amazon.com Turtles, Nickelodeon, Classics or otherwise. Be warned! And I will reiterate however, that these were sold directly from Amazon and not through a merchant, save for Lion-O.

Thanks for the head up. I tried amazon (from the uk) .com, but it was a retailer, and they wouldn't ship outside the US.
Time to check again.

I honestly don't know how hard it is to get a proper box and arrange the items so they aren't bent or damaged in transit. It's one thing for something to happen because of handler error, but I would never dare send out anything that would end up warped, bent or broken. When I send people stuff, I package it with care in mind, so that when they receive the goods it's like they're pulling them right off the shelves. And before anyone says "no one cares whether or not your **** comes mint," it's funny that a lot of places try to cater to collectors these days. Mmmhmm.

By the way, one thing to watch out for on the Nick Turtles; the peg joints. Some of the pins aren't pushed all the way through or they were done so in a way that it damaged the plastic in the process. I've noticed, from a lot of pics and videos out there already, that Mikey seems to be the main one with problems like this, which could have something to do with him being the smaller figure. He also seems to have the sloppiest paint apps, concerning the bandana. Although, supposedly Don is plagued by that as well.

Out of my set, Raph and Mikey were the only ones with any bleed spots. I used a hobby knife and carefully trimmed away the excess and then took a cloth, dipped in hot water, to rub away any discoloration and tearing. Easy peasy stuff.

The joints however, were a concern. I found one that looked almost like it started ripping. The Mikey I opened had a bum left hip. Instead of giving him a cane however, I spent a few minutes trying to pop the pin back into place with a hair dryer and then tucked the plastic under each side with a sewing needle. Luckily the plastic wasn't actually ripped or anything.

Speaking of Mikey, I think deep down, even today, he might be my favorite Turtle, when it comes to the toys. I like them all, but the '88 Mikey was always my favorite toy as a kid. I still have him to this day, with his soft plastic head and extremely scuffed up paint. He went through a lot, because he was such a fun character. And this new incarnation might just be my personal favorite of the new Nick toys bunch. He's just an awesome little guy.

Hold the phone. I've just found an on line site, with a phone number, with all 4 plus a foot soldier in stock.
I've sent a text in English pinying and simplified Chinese ( hopefully between them all, my text will be understood) so, I might be able to get these guys today.
120 rmb each ($18) but I wont have any shipping costs.
Here's hoping they get back to me. The guy I called last week about a Neca set never did.

Amazon is infamous for treating toy packaging like crap. I had a figure once where the card was literally bent in half to fit in a box 2 sizes too small. Its ridiculous they think its acceptable to do that to certain items. I mean if you bought on ipad like that do you think it would be OK? I don't think so. Any item shouldn't be treated any differently based on what it is whether is a $1 item or a $1,000 one. :slap

I ordered the play arts Armored Batman recently on amazon and arrived safe. I just ordered a ML Big Time Spiderman, hope it's all good.

Hastings is a miss or hit, I just hope they don't send me the nick TMNT when I ordered the classics.

Wouldn't surprise me in the least, especially without a pic being on the site. Their teenage tard employees will just see Turtles, name, throw in box, maybe tape shut, and put mailing sticker on it. :lol

just wanted to throw this out there! I just bought the four figures and they're amazing! they have the old school toy turtles feel with the comic book stylization, plus...they come with weapons still on the trees like the old versions! awesome. if anyone is thinking about these and cant decide, I'd say get em. I dig everything about em.

Nope. Ordered the Classics and got the Classics. Just my Donetello had the lazy eye bit going on but I fixed that with some paint. He had a Leo Sewer base too which isnt as easy a fix...
