i honestly can't keep up. kids just a few years younger seem to be talking but i'm not understanding. i wanted to start a thread with today's slang so we can all start to understand each other better. :D

i'd like to start with the word..WOOT!

it's meaning is AWESOME!

please follow up with your strange new word and it's meaning.

I OWNZ YOU NOOB!

I kicked your ass amateur.

I hate new age slang with the kids nowadays.

All that is needed is a good ol' curb stomping. I kid. I kid.

To quote one of my favourite artists, still can't believe she said this:

'This is SICK' -meaning awesome?

I HATE that saying :thwak :monkey4
x

I don't know if you guys have heard this one yet but the term is:

"Far Out"

I think it means really neat or something along those lines.

:D

i actually noticed a few guys outside of a shop on skateboards who kept saying
" rad " , i hadn't heard that word for about 70 years and i was wondering wheter they were taking the mick but they seriously kept going " oh rad man ! ". Lol.

So its an old one but apparently still used by some . "Rad ".
Which means really good , lol :lol.

I think what bothers me more than slang words are the abbreviations used on the net.

that and people who shorten already short words by using numbers and symbols.

@ - intsead of "at" - still takes 2 keys to create. whats the point?
2 - instead of "to" - woah, saved a lot of time on that one partner.

.. and so on ... :monkey1

This reminds me of something.

I used to watch the cartoon Darkwing Duck. I always thought it was funny that his sidekick would call him DW when DW has more syllables than simply saying Darkwing Duck or Darkwing. Why shorten something when it takes more work to do the shorter version?

Today's slag drives me crazy. It's all urban, street thug speak and I can't stand it. Seeing every white teenage kid with a sideways hat with a straight brim, big gold chain while wearing a wife-beater getting his "lean on" behind the wheel of his "ride" got old 10 years ago.

how about wicked , i know some kids use it in the UK , don't know about the US.

" Wicked " , which means great !

What the hell inspired you to make this thread ?
:D
