WTF is a gimli?

It's a figure Sideshow doesn't make because (God forbid) they have in-stock inventory of a license that hasn't sold out during pre-order in under 6 minutes so they can justify putting a line on indefinite "hold."

Good question, Mike. My initial reply would be Raiders as well, as it's my favorite film (by far) of the entire series and that's the version I would prefer. But if getting LC version would allow one to make either/or, then I'm with you.

I'd take either. LC is my top Indy movie but I really just want a 1:6th Sallah so if I have to I can customize it and get both thats just fine as well. I'm not that picky.

She doesn't bother me so much in the film, but she's one of those character where I can enjoy what's brought to the film with their presence but not give a ^^^^ about having in my collection. She helped make the movie work, but by herself she ^^^^s. You need an annoying woman like her to make the whole chamber scene work, time running out and Indy having to fight to get her to pull the lever is a great part of that movie.

Honestly, that's the moment where the oldschool Han Solo aspect of Indy should've kicked in. Indy hadn't gotten anything but grief and teasing from Willie. He's a man who got more ass than a toilet seat and Shorty was actually helpful. Let the screaming wench fry and save the kid.

I think you're thinking of the Thugee ceremony at the end, I was referring to when Indy and Shorty go into the tunnel from the palace and get caught in the room with the spikes and need Willy to save them and she's being a whiny ^^^^^ and Indy's like "we are going to DIE!"

That could just as easily have been done with Shorty tripping and rolling out of the room and the doors closing, locking Indy in a trap triggered by Shorty.

Well, I stuck with my Toht preorder and passed on the Sandtrooper. I feel I made the right choice. Seeing those production numbers makes me feel even better.

Doesn't bode well for the Indy line... Seems everyone wants Indy, but not the most requested villain.

I guess it will depend on their commitment to it - but I'm predicting Mola Ram and out...

That is because people can just have Indy and be happy with nothing else needed. Unlike say Han, you need some other characters to go with him.

As long as we get Mola Ram with the stones I'm happy, but we better get the headpiece somehow.

If SS bails on another 1:6th line they're really going to start putting people off from buying items.

Yup. Indy is so interesting all by himself, it does hurt the ability to make a line thrive because any level of fan will buy him, but it takes a stronger fan to get into all the other characters. Indy seems like a tough property to gain healthy support for in 1/6 pieces. I would guess Marion and Mola Ram and maybe another Indy could sell pretty well before support dwindells to LOTR levels, if it doesn't look that way already when Toht and Belloq start shipping. It'd be nice if the figures aspect fades out, they at least offer up some more display environments, I think even just for Indy alone pieces like the idol pedistal could still sell well and the Indy property has some interesting designs that could make for small, affordable environment elements to include with the figure.

Unless they can elevate the quality of their figures to a level where people are more happy with the quality of what they got compared to what they're missing, or at least not pass over really important characters/representations. Hot Toys seems to be able to leave characters out of their lines and not lose business and support, so I guess if you wow them enough with what you do provide, people won't complain as much about what's missing.

Agreed, that would be cool, but my understanding is that the Idol pedestal and Ark were offered as exclusives because SS doesn't have the license for Indy environments. And they do make for some damn cool exclusives IMO!

I'm still hoping we at least see these guys (in any order):

1. Marion (Raven Bar)
2. Sallah - (Desert Digger)
3. Mola Ram

For exclusives, I'd love an environment section of the Map Room, or the Well of Souls...even the Raven Bar or the Cairo marketplace...

I do like the fact that they've focused on ROTLA. What would have happened if we got an old Indy, a Mutt and a Spalko before the line petered off...WITHOUT getting the Raiders figures. SS are fanboys and girls themselves, and I'm sure they knew that if they started with Raiders, they could get the figures out that diehard fans most wanted before the line ended.

Sadly, all licensees blew it with this line by waiting until months AFTER KOTCS to start releasing collectibles instead of the year before it's release. Sadly, Indy has come and gone...again.

But at least we finally got some REALLY quality Indy stuff - a handful of 1/6 figures and the awesome Raiders PF! Hope there's still more to come...



BTW, I wouldn't be surprised if we don't get a 1/6 Mola Ram and the 1/6 line doesn't go beyond Raiders. But my money is on Mola Ram being the next PF, holding up the flaming heart!
