Broke and happy
The energy was good but the cgi when he was spinning was pretty bad lol
That means it’s gonna suck
My 10 and 12 year olds really want me to take them to see this. I'm on the fence. I took them to "Clock in the Wall" (PG) and they were creeped out at parts. They didn't sleep well that night. I know Hollywood reduced the anticipated rating so there is sure to be swearing and violence...what violence I've seen so far isn't too far off some other comic book movies though. I told them I know they swear when I'm not around and I don't like it, and taking them to a movie with swearing would seem like I'm condoning it. At the same time, I'm foolish if I was to think they aren't hearing worse on the school yard or saying stuff themselves.
So I made them promise to work on not swearing in exchange for taking them. Still not sure if I'm doing the right thing though. I know it won't be Deadpool level stuff (which I won't let them see for several more years). I guess I'll take them and once we have seen it, have a talk about anything that was inappropriate for their age. I know I saw materials with ****s and occasional swearing at their age, and I knew to consider it in context then. Fingers crossed I'm not making a bad parenting decision.
Only over a week to go before muh hard R Venom buries the Fiege and the MCU for good. Cry plebs cry.
I’m more strict with swearing than gore.
F word, hell no not allowed!
Robocop getting his arms blown off, hell yeah enjoy it son!

Lol
So funny. My parents never stopped us from watching anything when we were little, violence, gore, whatever. But we knew better than to repeat what was said or happening on TV. I remember some of my friends and even cousins were not allowed to watch The Simpsons growing up and they turned out to be awful adults.
Love the look of Venom, not a fan of the voice. Might as well have subtitles when he speaks.
hehe I haven't let them watch Robocop yet even though I want to. I'll have to watch it soon to refresh what I was worried about as it was a couple years ago I told myself "not yet".
I think a coaching talk before we go in and after will be enough. I'm not super worried about anything I've seen in the trailers. It's nice that they know I follow the Venom books and want to do something with their dad to make it an "us" thing. I was really looking forward to a more mature Venom movie, but I think it's smart on their part to have a theatrical release that makes it more "adoptable" later by Disney if things go that way.
I can't wait to hear who he'll be facing.
Imagine somehow they land McConaughey as Kasady. I mean ****, at that point does Venom suddenly become a more anticipated CBM than Infinity War?
Fox is releasing DP2 back into theaters at PG-13 because the turn out for the R version was much weaker than they were hoping for

So now little kids can go watch DP2 curse lol.
R rated box office certainly made a comeback but it won’t work everytime.
Sorry Snikt lol
Holy crap I looked it up and you're right. And they're adding scenes so that the PG-13 version is a bedtime story DP reads to adult Fred Savage a la The Princess Bride.
