It used to go very well for them. Spiderman 1 and 2 are still great to me. 3 was definitely a drop in quality but I still get enjoyment out of it. The 'Amazing' films were, alas, far from amazing.

This movie went from oscar winning FILM to "oooh its silly and an unintentional comedy but its a fun wreck you should just enjoy for what it is". Im not saying its not enjoyable but damn. What a way to sell this movie. With Tom Hardy. Just wow

Remember when Tom Hardy can do no wrong?

Remember when Tom Hardy only picks scripts that are artistic?

Remember when this was gonna kick start the hard R spidey verse?

Remember when this movie was supposed to be a character study of Brock?

Lol man I wish snikt was here so he’d see that SONY doesn’t care about making an artistic or compelling movie they want money. They don’t want to develop a proper story all they ever cared about was making Spider-Man into a soulless cash grab.

Oscar worthy film my ***

Remember when Tom Hardy did gay **** ?

Oh oops

PS - I’m just seeing this for Tom Hardy I knew this was gonna bomb

Re: Venom Movie: Sony working on the Spin-Off

Assumptions.

You don't even know who's directing this. All they need to do is give this to a David Robert Mitchell or an Adam Wingard or any other great genre director and it'll smoke every [safe family friendly kids table] movie the MCU ever put out.

At the MCU there is only one director - and he has no interest in anything bold or transcendent.

Gold. :lol :lol

No, mainly because some of us CBM fans aren't teenagers and need something a bit more intellectually and tonally stimulating than the safe fare coming from Disney.

Naturally, there are people who gravitate towards said safe fare that aren't mentally capable of steering clear from a thread for something they clearly won't like or understand because it's very much the opposite of "safe".

Here’s a good one caped . Lmao he thought this movie was going to be intellectually stimulating and not safe.

But it’s rated pg13 and is a comic book movie that escaped the 2000s. Im dying!

Grace loved it :lol

She said it’s Raimi like, a mix of Evil Dead and Darkman!

I bet it’s more like a mix of The Predator and Turd in the Wind.

Can we just hurry up to the Halloween movie already lol

The 'R' rating isn't the "goal". The goal is content that isn't held back by a studio mandate to cater to children because they believe it equates to more seats (for further clarification on why an 'R' rating is a door to better content see James Mangold's Logan).

Lawd there is hours and hours of comedy gold. :rotfl

Sony probably lavished her with free gifts like WB did with The Nun. :lol

:lol I must see this Turd in the Wind movie you speak of. I hope Halloween is good. Lots of hype for that one. . .but hype won't make a movie good.
