It is true that Parker was an adult, both when he got the symbiote suit and when he first encountered Venom. But I thought everyone loved young Spidey. Those were, by far, the most iconic comics he was involved in, and when about 90% of his noteworthy villains first showed up (Green Goblin, Venom, Kraven, Mysterio, Vulture, Doc Ock, Chameleon, Lizard, Scorpion, etc.). I guess I can see Snikt's logic about him thinking that he fought Venom as an adult in the comic, so he should fight him as an adult in the movies (though it's pretty obvious Eddie Brock will be a good guy here, so any fight would last about half a movie at best until they started teaming up). But I can't agree with the broader argument.

Again, adult characters from the 80s and 90s McFarlane era like Venom, Carnage, Silver Sable and Scarlet Spider demand an adult Spider-Man and That's the era SONY seems to be adapting in their R-rated isolated Spider-verse.

I'm not saying he doesn't know about Spidey, but I do think he misunderstands the fan-base if he thinks they won't, generally speaking, like to see kid Spidey fighting anyone. Be it Carnage, Venom, Demogoblin, Doppleganger, etc. . .actually, I don't know that any fans want to see Demogoblin, so I retract that one.

Tell me, would you prefer Kid Spidey/Stark Jr. over a Spider-MAN?

It’d rather see adult Spidey around the 4th or 5th movie

I guess it depends on the quality of the movie. If it's Spider-Man 3 as an adult, I'll pass. If it's Homecoming Spidey as a kid, I'll take it. But in general, Spidey as a kid was more interesting to me. He was struggling through high school, and learning about responsibility when he could be having fun and winning football games, etc. Adult Spidey hasn't always been handled well. Seeing his marriage with Mary Jane has never been that interesting to me. I did like Kraven's Last Hunt, which would be hard to do with a teenager as Spidey. Same with the Death of Jean DeWolf storyline. But the rest. . .I don't think teen vs. adult matters much for the McFarlane-era Venom stuff to my eyes. I tuned out for much of the '90s, but the comics were usually so poorly written that it's probably not the best example to choose from.

Even that would be tough, because it will be hard to suspend disbelief for 8-10 years that actor X is still a teenager after they start in the first film. But assuming they could re-cast well and it wouldn't be too jarring, that would be nice.

It's not in the MCU. Neither is Silver and Black or Morbius.

Nobody wants to see kid Spider-Man fight ADULT characters like Venom or Carnage.

SONY would be smart to pull outta the deal with Disney & take Spider-Man back where he can be a Spider-MAN again.

Adult characters? Venom isn’t all that adult. Have you watched the old shows? Spectacular had Spider-Man fight venom as a teen and it was amazing. The 90s spidey has venom vs spidey in his early 20s. Part of the success of venom and Spider-Man villains in general is that they work better when fighting Spider-Man. Who the hell wants to see Spider-Man villains in movies by themselves. They are not that well known and work best against Spider-Man. That’s why that sinister six movie without Spider-Man never got off the ground. It’s stupid

I think snikt wants to believe that since Logan did well with an R rating Spider-Man will. But Spider-Man is not an r rated character. I don’t know why he thinks that Spider-Man will gain success with an r rating. Spider-Man is a kids property and is aimed towards children. Like it or not. He sells toys. Also there is no Spider-Man story that needs an r rating. Not even last hunt or the death of de wolf. Just silly.

Last Hunt and Jean DeWolf both have people being blown to smithereens with a shotgun. You could do that with PG-13, but. . .my point there was it would be harder to do with Spidey as a teen, because they are fairly adult stories and situations where a mature, well seasoned Spidey would make more sense. Alien goop monster, sure, you can do that PG or with teen Spidey all day.

You could. Venom isn’t an r rated character. Nothing he did deserves an r rating. Hell you can dumb down carnage and he’ll be the same. All of spideys villains are adults who did horrible **** so I don’t get what the hell hes trying to get at. Lol

I don't know. This is pretty X-TREME!

**** the 1990s, by the way.

One of them is clearly a white guy. Venom is prejudiced against all humans who like wearing Target brand t-shirts, have goatees, and based on the beret, are Francophiles.

I think two of the guys are twins. The light guy and darker guy look the same.
The "white" guy is definitely mixed. They are brothers of a white mom/ black dad.

Venom is literally committing a hate crime in that gif!
