I disagree on that. I wouldn't want this anywhere near MCU. Sony does a good job with Spidey, it's mostly the business interventions that ruin it.

Venom has a ton of anti-hero stories, but personally I would be in for more symbiotes. Thing with Venom is that he is almost always able to beat Spidey. Venom doesn't rampage for the sake of money or whatever, it is vengeance. So I can see why a lack of Spidey lowers hype, but other symbiotes are able to take on Venom 1v1. Plus some of them would be badass to see on the screen imo.

I'm just saying that I dont have a huge issue with this, but I can see why people dont agree.

Do they? Their last three were bombs.

The movie isn't even out yet. :lol

I say keep Spidey far away from the MCU. Iron Man was the reason I never bothered with Homecoming, just can't stand the character. I hope Venom is a good stand alone movie, clamoring for trilogies, universes and what not is like being grateful for being milked as a consumer and getting cookie cutter soulless products like the MCU in return.
If you are a Spidey fan, I would strongly recommend Homecoming. It's probably my favorite Spidey movie now, just pushing aside Spider-Man 2. But Iron Man does play a major role of course.

Funny thing that for such an old and bad movie people still talk about Spider-Man 3 while no one talks anymore about recent "good" :)lol) films like Age Of Ultron or Civil War.

20 movies in the MCU and not a single memorable quote in them. The only thing Disney does better than Sony is shill recruiting.
There are a handful of memorable quotes. Cap's "I understood that reference" was pretty damn funny, at first. But they're meant to be disposable entertainment. This is the nature of things today.

Meh. If your a huge venom fan.
My IRL friend is a fan. Yet he doesn't like Spiderman at all.
He doesn't care for the fact that this movie most likely won't have any connection to Spidey.
He also likes Tom Hardy and thinks he's a good chouce to play the character.

So... for some it's not just about Muh Comic Bukz. :)

Keep spidey far from the mcu? So Sony is better after each crappy bomb they dropped after sm3? Or 2 even

Could be cause he has a man crush for Tom hardy ..... also it did t have to follow the comics but I’d rather have that than Sony coming up with a origin.

When it comes to superhero movies great action set pieces with superheros actually interacting with each other in a shared universe are about a trillion times more important than “memorable quotes”

Seriously, memorable quotes is your barometer for what makes a good superhero movie lol

I want to see great action from characters with cool powers!

Memorable quotes is just a nice topping if it happens great if not who cares.

Riddick doesn’t like anything tho. What’s ur favorite Spider-Man film? Just curious.

So that explains why you hated Black Panther. :lol

I bet you prefer all five of the Bayformers films over that movie. :lol

Maybe because it was a massive disappointment??????? Idk. Cause it came off the heals of the greatest superhero movies produced at the time? The hype was avengers level?? Maybe that was it?

I think I'd be fine without Spideys involvement until the very end. It seems Eddie's looking for a purpose in the movie. Let's say during the end credits Venom sees Spidey swinging through the city. He pauses for a moment taking note of the suit and symbol. The idea that he's a hero solidifies as that iconic white spider forms across his chest and he swings out of frame. Spidey would definitely take issue with a dangerous vigilante publicly identifying with him and thats how you'd start their team-up movie.

Just brainstorming. lol

I only like Transformers 1 but I love the 3D visuals and action set pieces in 3.

If a superhero movie doesn’t have good action I get bored.

BP action was not up to the standards set by TWS.

How civilian. I'm laughing at this while bench pressing 500 pounds in front my auteur buddies. Such disdain.

Nobody cares about childish superheroes like Spidey, people want hard R rated cb movies. Eddie Brock's nuanced character development will **** on anything the MCU can offer you simpleton.

Once venom sets the world on fire, Sony can continue the sinister six movies and give us real cb movies for men. :lecture

Send pecs.

I also like that if you don’t like another hero franchise u must be a mcu fan. It’s hilarious to me. I hate mcu movies just aswell. However since spidey is my favorite character and I like to see heroes interact it’s fun to watch him in the mcu. Xmen i feel like fox did all they could with them and it’s time to move on.

XM and F4 can’t get to the MCU fast enough.

I still can’t believe that Fox made a new XM movie lol

Deadpool 2 is building into a great cinematic universe with Deadpool, Cable, Colossus and Domino interacting with each other lol

Had Logan/DP1 bombed all of these characters would’ve been in the MCU ready for their introduction at the end of phase 4.

Fox must be using DP box office success as leverage for the merger.

There are rumors that New Mutants wasn't just pushed back, that it may be shelved all together and Dark Phoenix will be the last FOX movie. I do hope they just merge Deadpool into the MCU as is. It's the only character they could do that with and would be so fun seeing it happen. One of the best lines in Deadpool when Colossus was referencing Prof X. ... "McAvoy or Stewart?"
