Re: TonyMeis Custom- scratch build DP #1

Love the piping on the DP suit! Really sets it apart from the others. And of course the Batmen look amazing!

What gloves/boots are those?

Re: TonyMeis Custom- scratch build DP #1

Yes, the Batmans! :D DKR Bats looks like he has DC Direct Alex Ross gloves and HT Nolan Batman boots, but I can't place the others. Are they from Moe?

The Neal Adams are from Elvis1976's Year One Batman Limited Edition, and the Jim Lee Batman was scratch build by Crystal and myself.

Re: TonyMeis Custom- scratch build Deadpool, Punisher, Batman

Thank you James :wink1: we still got a lot to work on before its final finish, thank your for your compliment, its everyone that support us to keep on moving forward with our work. Thank you again :clap:clap

Re: TonyMeis Custom- (Proportion discussion)

Hi everyone, Crystal and I would like to discuss an body proportion idea with everyone. Since we understand many freaks member on this board would like to custom their own Superhero bash, we would like to share our idea on how we take on our Superhero custom.

First, not many or none company on this 1/6 market has done Superhero line yet. DCD 13" is at a whole different scale. There is a big reason why we prefer smaller head. Medicom spent the most effort making the body proportion as much as possible, even tho most of the time their body are still off here and there, but re-design a whole new body isnt cheap or easy thing to to.

- DCD 13" head to body proportion are often correct, except for a few....., then again, they aren't really 1/6

Second, with the limited body available on the market, most of them are still in the normal stage, to make a proper SUPERHERO SCALE, it'll require company to re-design the whole body proportion all over. I do believe eventually some of these major company will make it, just matter of time..... Sideshow :wink1:

Third, Superhero often wears tight costume, muscular body plays a huge part to the outfit. They are basically nude with design on their body to present which character they are.

- Most 1/6 company's body were design for heavy clothing wears, due to fabric appearance on the body after wears, the inner body needs to be a size down enable for the cloth to look proportional. But for Superhero line, the fabric are thin and tight, with normal head, the Superhero will turn into a big head wimp all of the sudden.....

Forth, Crystal and I enjoy making Superhero, it's our childhood dream, we are sure many of our freaks member here are desire the same thing. Hot Toys does amazing work on their movie line, but to us, Movie line are still "trying" to base off the original comic appearance. we do prefer a proper comic Superhero look than movie/life appearance. We also do understand some people prefer the life scale look, but to us.... "If a so called Superhero has a body that look less muscular than some of the semi-body builder from our average gym, I would not feel too secure handing off serious business to them... LOL

And last but not least, for any sculptors on this 1/6 market, you guys holds the key to the over all appearance. The head size will determine the final proportion's accuracy. We would love to work with like minded people and make our custom a dream come true. We all like to thank all the future sculptor for putting the effort to work with us on creating better custom than ever. Thank you all for reading. :clap:clap:clap

Here is an example, there is a reason why they are called "SUPER"hero
- the HT body with our tight suit on and average head size..... not sure how everyone takes it, but it's NOT too Super to me...:slap

Re: TonyMeis Custom- (Proportion discussion)

Hey there.
Interesting idea with the proportions.
Are you looking to make a custom body, or custom add on parts for a Hot Toys body?

This kind of thing?
Or something different?(I know the muscle groups are not totally accurate. It's just an idea)

Great minds think alike, lol.
I started this on saturday...
I have an idea for an "upgrade" kit of muscles for a HT body, which is why i did that study model.
Done right, the pieces could come off and be cast and sold as a kit of pieces, then glued onto an easy-to-obtain body.

Now we are talking! And since it's a kit, it'll still allow articulation for all the original joint. You are on the right track : )
