Re: TonyMeis Custom- (Proportion discussion)

Now we are talking! And since it's a kit, it'll still allow articulation for all the original joint. You are on the right track : )

Excellent.
My original inspiration was the Ed McGuinness Superman/Batman body type, but only very slightly toned down to allow for the realism in the HT head sculpts.
I think the arms, chest and legs are very important to get right.
Hard to know exactly how big to go. How big is *too big*?

Re: TonyMeis Custom- (Proportion discussion)

Ooooo. How'd you do that!?

thats a good question.... I was bored, some red wine and patience, one curve at a time. Our new er 2.5 suit allow us to experiment many different ideas to it. Then again, thanks to Mojo Custom- Neo, his wiring suit was what inspire us with this idea. Not something I would do again, but it was fun doing it once :yess:

it all depends on the size of the head, and proportion from there on, haha :rotfl:rotfl

That's all relative; each artist is going to give a different physique on his interpretation of a character. I've seen dozen of batmen with different body sizes.

Super hero proportions are relative to the superhero; like Spider-man; he has a lot of muscle definition but not a lot of bulk as compared to someone like colossus. A middle sized body in between those two extremes would be like captain America or perhaps cyclops. It's hard to determine the perfect physique for all characters because they all come in different sizes.

The hot toys body, the TTM-19, you're showing; well, of course that's not really meant for superheroes and like you say; not one company has tried to mass produce a more muscled suitable body that will look good in a skin tight suit. But overall, that TTM-19; that's a good sized body for most comic book characters that are mid sized.

Sweet.
Is that your Superman costume??? Or the HT one on a Kaustic body?

that's our costume made from scratch. the Trunks is HT, I was too lazy to make one, but will make one later on this weekend.

only half of the body is kaustic, and its heavily modified.

Beautiful work guys :)

What i meant was that body, with *improved* arms.
I have an idea on how to do that really cheaply by the way. With vacformed muscle sleeves...

yes, that body is definitely improve with better joint. I love it and glad HT are making them available for us to purchase :1-1:

Vaformed arm? whats that?

Vacforming is where you take a solid master pattern and(with a vacuum), you bring down heated plastic sheeting onto the master.
The eventual piece is light, hollow and cheap. I have done a lot of work with Vacforms.
Here are some images of a spaceship hull i made(It's a different subject, but the technique is the same. I could vacform a sheet of maybe 50 large bicep sleeves for $20):

Re: TonyMeis Custom- (Custom Comic Superman)

Wow, beautiful costumes!!! And maybe I will change HS on Superman. He is too young for that body, he looks like boy from gym and not like superhero, which bring cats from trees.

Username: You have machine on it, or some homemade solution?

Thanks. I am going to do just that.
My plan was to sculpt the entire muscle set on one sheet(Should fit on a sheet of A5 Paper), and then you could use whichever parts you wanted.
They will be sculpted to fit on a TTM17, but would probably fit other body types.
