Every musician and actor up until 100 years ago worked every time they got paid. Today's entertainers are no better and don't have a right to better.
Recordings allow entertainers to make more money than they would without recordings existing, and that is the bottom line. As long as recordings are sold, they can be copied. That is the other side of the coin.
The alternative is entertainers needing to sing for their suppers every night, just like people in every other profession, so all entertainers should be thankful that recordings exist in the first place so they can make any extra money at all.
No entertainer is entitled to a profit of every copy of a recording which people have.
People can loan their recordings to other people as well, and unless everyone wants to enjoy a recording at once, it basically nullifies the need for everyone to even have their own copy, whether they paid for that recording or not.
That said, I am glad that entertainers can make money for nothing, but they aren't entitled to it. No one is THAT special.
