I love that this remake pisses people off just because it exists. Cannot wait to see it. :D

:exactly:

The best past is that if the original was never made people would be loving the ____ out of this movie.

I love that this remake exists, so I can weed out people with no taste. :lol:panic:

That's a bold statement there my friend.

Is the two weeks woman in it? :lol

That's just about the worst scene in film history. Arnold looks like he took too many shots to face. The size of mask compared to his head doesn't even make sense. :rotfl

There's no logical reason in this movie for a 3 boobed woman. Are there any mutants? No. So...?

My first thought: genetic alteration. Let's be honest, if the world got as bad as this movie depicted, some shady stuff would be happening

Honestly, the original with Ahnuld is pretty dated, so I was very much looking forward to this remake. While it has issues, as most of these giant special effects type movies have, I enjoyed it. That said, I would have loved to see Mars and updated Mutants, but this is not an exact remake, and for that, I am cool with the changes to a degree.

I respect those that aren't seeing this because they hate remakes, but you can't past judgment on a film you haven't seen!

You really can't say much since you don't plan on seeing it.

Total Recall is an important film to me. It's one of a few that really made my childhood. I have scenes, lines, etched into my brain forever.

This movie could've been amazing. It could have. But they decided to take the safe route. And remake it, scene by scene, line by line. They changed this, they changed that, but from i've heard, it's the same movie with better effects.

They didn't do anything different. And that's a shame. It happened with The Thing prequel. It was....OK, but it never did anything wild, or exciting.

Fright Night was better here. It was the same story at it's core, but it had a different feel, and a vastly different ending. And while I wish they didn't keep as much as they did, the film was different enough that I didn't see everything coming.

It doesn't matter if this film won every oscar, it's still a dull remake of a great movie. It looks like it lacks the fun, and camp. Which is why most films today have no personality. Cheese is great. Hamburgers taste horrible. I'll never eat a burger without cheese. And that's how a feel about a lot of movies today. Just hamburgers. Dry, boring, hamburgers. :lol

It's not the same movie. Nothing about it really makes me think of the original with the exception of the nods to the original.

I don't know man. The evil wife, Rekall's machine design, Quaid (in the short story, his name is Quail), Cohaggen, a plot inside his brain, Quato(or in this case, Mattais...something like that).

I mean, most people don't care, they want the exact same movie on the screen with better effects. But I don't.

You know what's a decent remake? Death Race. It's not great. But i'll give it to Paul WS Anderson there, he didn't make the same film. He did something different. Did I enjoy 2000 better? Oh yeah. But I like the fact that they're such different films, people can know (maybe) which one I'm referring too.

Imagine if they remade Fellowship of the Ring, with the same number of inaccuracies to the book, only following the movie, and just added "better" effects.

Well, it might not bother you. But still.

Similarities sure. It wouldn't be total recall if it didn't have some but it's not the same movie. I'd know since I just saw it yesterday. As I said they made a better version this time around. The first one is fun but it's not quiet as good as this one.

I have a few problems with things in the lotr series but as a whole that was nearly perfect.

It probably lacked the fun and comedy of the original. And that's a huge no no. It looked like it took everything that made the original great. The cheese, the ultra violence, the likable hero, the ABSURDITY. That's what made the original great.

Oh, and the ambiguity. People seem to recall the film as being mindless. But it's very smart. Shame you don't see that.

And by the way, they would, in theory remake the LOTR movies with the same scenes, but with flashy special effects, and a worse director. Brett Rater probably. In theory. And it would be terrible.

I don't know what to tell ya then. I like the original I just think this one is a bit better. Neither of them are great or anything other than a fun way to kill a couple hours.
