Yeah, it's much better in that regard but does make some nice references to the original which was cool.

The local critic here said Colin Farrell's acting was bad and he gave it 1.5 stars. He said the original is better. I never listen to him because he gave John Carter .5 stars. Pfffft.

Just saw it and thought it was OK,
but what I really loved about the first film is completely absent in this movie. Why did they ditch the whole Mars theme? That's what was great about the original, the ancient civilization, getting the massive ancient atmosphere generators back on line to give blue skies back to Mars... that was the heart of the movie. This was just, a video game.

Thanks Ween

Oh they'd probably like it.

My main issue is the lack of respect for the original films today.

It's stupid. Total Recall isn't some small failure that no one remembers, it's a classic, and Arnold's best film. It's so over the top and fun, it has camp, which is something that doesn't exist today, and that's a shame. Because camp is pretty fun.

Well....to a degree.

Never understood the cult following of the first movie. This seems to be alittle more serious and less cheesy. I have it on BD. Maybe I should give it another look. Certainly no where near as good as Predator or Terminator 1 & 2. Hell I even enjoyed Commando more.

Total Recall is Arnold's best film? I'm surprised at that.

Did you see this one or are you upset because they remade it?

Totally upset they remade it. :lol

I have no interest to give it any money.

However, if they took the basic concept of implanted memory stuff, and ran with it to something new, (No wife, no Coheggan plot, no Quaid, no nothing) and had a similar, but vastly different plot and events, i'd be cool with it.

But it's a remake of the movie. Straight up.

I think so. He's awesome as Quaid. He's playing a character that really isn't, on the surface badass, but has this underlying badassery hidden below deep psychosis.

Plus, he's funny as all hell. And likable.

I'm sure Ferrel does fine. I have no quarrels with him.

^ You didn't give away anything. There is no Mars. Which IMO was a step in the right direction...I just with none of the characters were in this movie.

Sorry, I wasn't sure how to, I thought the "DONT READ IF YOU HAVENT SEEN THIS" would suffice :nana:

You gotta learn sometime. Go back and edit it and use the spoiler button. Then you can say you learneded somting taday. :D
