I do agree with most everything you've said here, but the only problem is that you just can't compare this new film to the original.

You'll have to elaborate, because I think it's really easy to compare the films. Tried not to, but there's only so much I could have said about it if I were judging it on its own merits.

are the iconic three boobs present in this film or not, i don't care about the movie past that.

Sony paid off the mpaa. It's probably as simple as that.

I thought the inclusion of the boob lady was a pretty tacky nod to the original. At first I wasn't sure how it was there to begin, since there are no mutants, but it seemed like a reasonable assumption that futuristic cosmetic surgery could pull off something that ridiculous. Still unnecessary though

That seemed to be the most logical answer. I just never thought they'd do it for bewbs. Boobs have equaled R since the 2000's.

Hey, you can say whatever you'd like to about me, but I know for a fact, anyone who hates the 90'S (not 80's...:lol) ORIGINAL CLASSIC can go suck it hard, and has no credibility as a human being, and should be exiled from this planet.

Fact. End of story. :lecture.

A movie that was released in June of 1990 was produced and filmed in the 80s. Were you even alive when the original came out in the theaters?

Not yet. But that doesn't matter.

You wanted to be dicks because I bashed a remake of a film I love.

So i'll be mega ____ to all you silly people. :D

At least I can appreciate older films. Something that's lacking in this generation.

Wrong again. The 80s movies are some of my favorite movies to watch. However, I have enough insight to know that they do not hold up to the test of time no matter how much you want them too. Especially the ones that are "in the future."

I rue the day when The Terminator is considered a outdated bad movie.

The film still works. The film is still fun. It still has a decent amount of thought put into it. You can watch it with your brain off, or with it turned all the way up.

I've never felt a film is ever outdated. Its the same movie. The times might've changed, but it still works.

I watched the original again the other day. Man, it did not age well, but some of the mutants still kind of give me the creeps.

Definitely wouldn't mind watching this in theaters to see Kate, but not sure if it's worth it.

I liked the movie and Kate was in a lot of scenes and she looked great :drool Really love the homage they used on the Fifth Element's China town & hover car scene. The buildings and scenery was extremely well done.

The original movie was good but I actually prefer the remake. My only qualm was
there was a lot of Robots that resembles the I-Robot movie.

It's rare that a film in this genre from the 80's or prior holds up well. The story has to be good enough to overcome the dated effects and era-specific kitsch.

I rewatched the original TR earlier tonight and I do feel that it does stand the test of time. It's smart and has a lot going for it under the surface, which can be said of Paul Verhoeven's other films, especially Robocop, another of his that still holds up well. The weak link for Recall is Arnold's performance and the script's one-liners and cheesy dialogue that caters to his screen-persona. I think cheese is good when used in moderation, but Arnold brings it with him to most of his movies. It's an intrinsic part of his roles.

If it weren't for that, I think Total Recall would be taken more seriously.

Ive seen Recall a few times in the past, usually when it was on tv. I've never had fond feelings for it, But seeing it again after so long, I am certain that I like it more than the remake. It has more...heart, I guess. That's cheesy.

That's not to say that the remake isn't enjoyable in a more pedestrian kind of way. Celtic, are you ever going to see this any time soon?

"you've got a lot of nerve showing your face around here Hauser!"

"look who's talking."

Can't beat the lines in the original. I thought the robot army was more Mass Effect than I Robot.

In this film it never made the audience feel like Quaid was the last resort for the people. Not much investment for the colony. If that makes sense.

I probably am. Yes.

Because I have too. I can only bash a film I haven't seen for so long.

I'll give it a whirl soon.
