Well there were plenty of new lines and activity at this show no doubt. Sideshow was very impressive too, some great lines indeed! However what is the deal with Hot Toys? Weren't the suppose to introduce us to Predator 1? This is what I was hoping to see being that i'm primarily a Hot Toys collector.

Hot Toys where are you guys!!! :D

Toyfair? Whats so different from the weekly newsletter, the only good about the Toyfair is hearing other companies annoucements, SS annouces stuff every week, but PF Anakin has been the best annoucement so far and that was weeks ago.

It was ****. Nothing of interest was shown.

ToyFair '08 was AWESOME! :rock

Highlights for me included:

DC Direct
1:4 scale Wonder Woman Museum Statue
1:2 scale Joker Bust
1:6 scale Green Lantern Deluxe Figure w/ 3 alternate GLC heads!

pause for a Chewie...... :chew

DST
Starship Enterprise NCC-1701-D

Neca
Alien

Mattel
DC Universe Classics Figures

Sideshow
Indy!
GI JOE!

another Chewie pause................ :chew

*Whew* What a bunch of great stuff coming this year! :rock

The only thing that would've made it better would be some pics from Tonner. :monkey3

It was OK for me. If your a toy collector I can see being excited. But, I'm into statues and p.f.'s ... And, the only piece I am interested in is the Eagle VS Fell Beast.

My favorite Toy*Fair was in '03 or '04 (can't remember which exactly) when 13 SS/Weta items were announced.

(you know the the stuff I need to upgrade  )

When TF started I was under 29k posts and now I'm almost half way to 30k you do the math on how good TF was. :lol

I agree with what most have said new body and armor was a great surprise. Now all we need is a Vader announcement for SDCC which is almost guaranteed now I would say.

I've never had as many pre orders with SSC as right now and I may add more before the week is out.

just wish they had attended the show so we could see those figures close up!

Prometheus was the biggest SS scoop for me. The lamest would be how Gandalf turned out.

You must be kidding! Gandalf was the best part of the whole week for me! I couldn't be happier! Yeah he costs a few extra nickles but he's so worth it! In my eyes, that trumps Indy, dinosaurs, heck, for me that's even better than armored figures in the Star Wars line!

Gotta agree with you Cap'n. Now just two more hobbits and a dwarf and the rest will be ice cream!

If this poll is only for if Toy Fair was "Good, Bad or Indifferent" in as far as Sideshow was involved, then I guess I fall somewhere between Bad and Indifferent. Aside from the new bodies, which will be useless if not sold seperately, then SS had nothing for me this year.
I am stoked over offerings from some of the other companies though!!

Sideshow had some of the best announcements, and they weren't even at Toy Fair.

But there's some other great stuff:

- the Amok Time 12" figures really have me stoked
- the news of lines like Star Trek, Hellboy 2, and DC in 3 3/4" formats
- DST's 18" figures were interesting, although we'll have to see how they turn out in production
- Lego had some very cool Batman and Indy stuff as well

So yea, some interesting stuff announced, although it isn't as big as some past years. But considering the current collectibles market, that really shouldn't come as a surprise.

Who is making 3 3/4" Trek figures... were there pictures?

And while I'm not real excited about the 18" figures, likenesses seem pretty weak so far... I am very intrigued by the 1:1 Yoda they have coming for $175 :rock

Well with Toy Fair pretty much over now, at least on Sideshow part, I think it was a smashing success!!!!

On a scale of 10 it was a 10!

Sideshow has paved the way for 2008 to be its biggest and best year ever:rock :rock :rock :rock :rock

Best is a purely subjective word. If you're not a LOTR, Star Wars or Indy fan then Sideshow had NOTHING except a new body announcement.
Likewise, if you're not into superheroes, classic sci-fi, B-movies or horror greats then there might not have been anything from the other companies for you.
But, being as you said "some of the best" then I guess that's fair enough.
