I'd say it's a damn sight more mature than trashtalking something you clearly have no comprehension of. Bar none, these are the best 1:6 Indiana Jones Raider's sculpt you'll find to date:

Yeah, well when I opened the box, I didn't get that.

Then you don't own the Sideshow Indy and your argument holds even less ground. Everybody got that. True, it was covered in sketchy paint aps, but that's the headsculpt for Sideshow's Indy. If you own it, strip the paint, have a good look and enjoy your crow sandwich. That sculpt (with all due respect to the times when the others were released) spanks every other 1:6 Indy sculpt currently available.

Check out my comparison video, genious.

I do own the SS Indy and that sculpt is ruined with that paint. I admit, that prototype Indy sculpt is amazing, but it's not what we got in our mail boxes. You know that I and I know that. I'm not comparing the TM sculpt to the SS prototype sculpt. I'm comparing it to the final sculpt. That prototype is irrelevent to this conversation.

Do you own the Toys McCoy by the way?

That's the actual "final" SS headsculpt at the bottom. Are you really that dense?! It's the same f'ing sculpt! Go have a gander at some of the awesome repaints that freaks have done to show off Trevor's sculpt. It's there, you're just too busy being bromanced by your MT to notice.

PS. What's a "genious?" :dunno :p

If that sculpt is so great, why do people have to repaint it? I'm comparing the TM out of the box to the SS out of the box.

A sculpt and paint go together and you need both.

That SS sculpt is gold covered in ^^^^. I don't find that appealing. I shouldn't have to repaint the SS. It should look perfect the second I get it.

And you still haven't answered my question.

I own both... got my Toys McCoy years back... and right out of the box ( at well over 3 times the price of sideshows) I still had to replace the body because it was mounted on a hasbro Joe body which was pink in tone and did not match the color of the hands or head... (the body by 21st at the time matched much better)... the McCoy does have good paint apps.. but the sculpt itself is nowhere near the likeness as the sideshow's.. that is pretty much undisputed among collectors... what most collectors complain of is the so-so paint apps on the sideshow head.. and yes, your point is well taken that one shouldn't have to repaint a figure to get the look they want.. if anything.. I do wish sideshow could improve on paint apps.. I'd love to see them rise up to the level of the paint apps on Hot Toys' figures.... anyhoo.. in the end.. the which is better argument is pretty much a waste of forum space I guess.. kinda the old Ford vs Chevy debate... both have excellent qualities... but both have some issues as well.. ( for the money Toys McCoy could have included a pistol that wasn't HUGE )... but for its time, it was an incredible piece !

Well put. This debate could go on forever and I think it comes down to personal choice.

Oh the Bromance...i had to:rolleyes:

I don't think it makes any difference either, I own the Toys McCoy Indy, the Medicom Indy, and I plan on getting the SS Indy very soon.

If anyone wants to talk about a bad Indy then lets all gang up on the last two that Hasbro put out, yuck! :lol

If the SS sculpt is gold covered in ^^^^, than the MT is a gold-coated turd. You keep saying that SS's has a poor sculpt. It doesn't. And it's far better than the MT. If you're argument is with paint aps, that's another story entirely. But blaming a sculpt for paint aps is ignorant at best. They're two different things.

When I say sculpt, I mean paint and all. :duh

A good sculpt thats all white is useless. You need paint and the SS has terrible paint making it a bad sculpt and an ugly figure. If it had good paint, it would be a good sculpt, but I shouldn't have to go out and get a repaint. SS should have made it right the first time.

:horse Where beating the dead horse here. You like the SS and I like the TM. I think this discussion ended a few posts ago. We could go on forever, but I don't think our opinions will change. Some people like TM and some people like SS. Just like some people like Coke and some people like Pepsi.

group hug.... har ! seriously though... endless debates suck the fun out of just talkin' toys.... now speaking of bad looking Indys and personal choice... my favorite 12" Indy of all time will always be the Kenner Indy I got as a kid for christmas back in the 80's... he didn't even come with a fedora.. he had a HUGE felt sombrero :lol but.. I dragged that thing EVERYWHERE I went as a kid... so even though the McCoy and Sideshow Indys both outshine the ol' kenner by miles.. it has a sentimental value that even the most perfectly detailed figure could never have... main thing that I think we may all be missing is.. we have a handful of choices now in 12" Indy figures on the market.... regardless of which one you like.. its AWESOME to even be able to have a couple to choose from !!

It's like blaming the cow because the cook burned your steak. On a forum like this, keep in mind, when you do stuff like that, combining two completely different aspects and blame one for the other, your posts will be misunderstood and might, very well insult the sculptors who post here regularly. This is why, commonly, in most of the high-end collectible reviews around you'll see that "sculpt" and "paint" are entirely two different aspects of a review and should remain that way. Worst case scenario, it makes you look like you actually know what you're talking about, the rest of us don't have to be mindreaders, and it gives you a more thorough critique for your review.

Hey, Trevor did an amazing Ford sculpt, but the paint ruins it and makes for a very unattractive figure. Now Hot Toys, they make beutifull sculpts with beutifull paint, that's why there what many people consider to be the best.

I should have made it clear in the first place, but sculpt and paint go hand and hand, and without out one, you have nothing.

Like I said, this comes down to personal preference and neither of our opinions are going to change.

So, Nam and Bigal, when are you going on your first date? Because I think you two have been just flirting long enough now.

I wouldn't say either one is better than the other. Both are cool in ways the other is not.

The Sideshow one can look magnificent with a lot of custom work and kitbashing, but that's not really a fair comparison.
