Well I'm sorry, but a good sculpt is nothing without good paint.

Yeah but you are going off of the paint not the actual sculpt itself. Everyone knows SS paint applications suck. :lol
I did want to add Trevors sculpt is hands down the best Ford likeness to date. The only thing it needed was facial hair texture and it would have been solid.

Like I said. Bad paint=bad sculpt. :duh

The SS Indy sculpt is just slop.

I will say this though, the prototype sculpt of the SS Indy looked amazing and blows the TM out of the water. But that was the prototype.

Uh, no the sculpt is great. Sorry but that IMO is the dumbest statement yet. Could SS make Indy this good 10 yrs ago, no. I think you are looking at these with blinders on. You are trying to post 'why TM is better' and not an actual comparison.

Yes, once you replace the shirt, jacket, pants, gun belt, holster, whip, body and repaint the head but I'm not so sure it's much cheaper after you do all that.

Best statement yet. SS makes the best base figures. Really for 150-200 you could have the greatest Indy ever vs. 300 for a relic(nice relic but still a relic).

LOL :lol

I compared the two figures in the videos YOU didn't watch and the TM comes out on top.

Also, do own both the SS and the TM?

He also looks more like Ford then the SS sculpt :rotfl

You, sir, need to stop laughing at your own dumb jokes and invest in a pair of these:

I started a thread about these newbs in the Questions/Suggestions forum.

I did watch most of them. But as we all know one can tell a crappy movie 5 min in. And so you know I mean no disrespect to you and I did enjoy the videos I just don't agree at all but for the shirt. And as a side note, welcome to the freaks board.:D

But you didn't watch the whole thing.

And you didn't answer my question.

Ok well which has the better likeness? But honestly debating this is pointless seeming your so far up the Toys Mccoy Indys hole you can probably see the chilled monkey brains he had for dinner. :lol

Well, I guess this is no longer a mature conversation.

Actually if you put those on and shut your eyes the TM sculpt does look like Ford in a certain way.:gun

Great review i actually enjoy them. Honestly as i have stated before if your going for screne accurate materials Indy needs to be custom peiced together. No toy company has accomplished this yet. If your going for quality of materials each has there positives and negatives as you point out. The sculpt on SS Indys shoes are more accurate then the TM Indy. I dont think just because the TM has socks it makes the shoes better.

I'm just quoting this because it was the last worthwhile comment made before the thread went bad... I really like reading what people think about the TM so I hope it doesn't get locked.

There is no 'right' answer, SSC is 'better' but TM has more charm... got to say though, I love the way the TM boots have the Indiana Jones logo etched into one of the soles. Hardly movie accurate but fun.

Here's a great picture and a link comparing all the Indiana Jones figures made through out the years. I think the Toys McCoy figure is still really good, remember that for a time , it was THE only non-custom figure available. I have to say that the sculpt on the Kenner figure, although a bit toyish, looks a lot like Harrison Ford.

Here's the link:

After seeing that picture, I actually have to agree. The TMC one looks the least ridiculous, followed by the Medicom version. Sideshow's bobblehead doll looks pathetic (WTF is up with the EYES?!) and it's hard to believe the TMC is a decade older.

I'd say it's a damn sight more mature than trashtalking something you clearly have no comprehension of. Bar none, these are the best 1:6 Indiana Jones Raider's sculpt you'll find to date:

I love when people bring out pictures like this because they are completely worthless in a discussion about final products. It doesn't matter what the artist had on his workbench, it matters what the consumer ends up with. Sideshow's artists come up with some great sculpt, but from clay to plastic, their products end up looking like disasters.
