Re: Transformers 3 Announced For 2011

Saw it. I enjoyed it. They could've cut out a lot of the crap from the beginning though. And Rosie > Megan, in looks (at least now... Megan looks bad lately) and acting talent.

Re: Transformers 3 Announced For 2011

We just got back from watching TF3 in 3D and I LOVED it! :rock :rock

IMO it was a fun movie to watch and the little woman and I had a good time! The only thing that my lady didn't like was that Patrick Dempsey was a bad guy! :lol

Glad you liked it. I thought it was pretty damn awesome as well.

He did play a decent bad guy though. Was glad to see him get his ass whooped.

Re: Transformers 3 Announced For 2011

Wow

I really wanted to give this a chance and to me it was worse than the second one.

They corrected some of the issues with the second and failed to deliver in so many areas in this one

Where were all the fighting robots???

It was all exposions and ____ blowing up, no epic battles at all, every fight scene was under 20 seconds.

Bay's direction is a certain style which dont mind, its the ____in writers, who approves this stuff?

Re: Transformers 3 Announced For 2011

Kissinger was a hardcore, old school "realist" (in international relations terminology). He saw inter-state relations as a high stakes game where nearly every actor was a pawn on a chessboard. He was concerned solely with power and the national interest, and was probably pretty blunt about that behind the scenes. I wouldn't be surprised to hear him say such a thing in that context. Particularly in the presence of Haig, who was a military man of course and a key rival for influence in the Nixon and Ford White Houses.

Re: Transformers 3 Announced For 2011

Watched it last night.it was decent nothing to great.

Maybe its just me but didnt the whole plot line remind anybody of Doctor Who 10th doctors finale. TF3 pulled Cybertron to Earth, Doc Who Pulled Gallifray to Earth

Master becomes a hobo = Megatron
Rassilon - Sentinel Prime

Final Battle its Master vs Rassilon = Megatron vs Sentinel.

lol Maybe I am tripping but I though it was very similar.

Re: Transformers 3 Announced For 2011

I am taking the kids to see this today. I feel good knowing that even if I don't like it and can't stand the weak acting and stupid humor, I will hopefully enjoy the action at the end and the 3D. But the kids will love every moment of it, so that will be good.

What???... :dunno

Re: Transformers 3 Announced For 2011

I saw it yesterday and was impressed by Rosie. She held her own and she did an awesome job for it being her first acting role ever. She also did better than Megan, imo. She looked gorgeous throughout too!

Re: Transformers 3 Announced For 2011

Planning on seeing this tomorrow but man is Rosie getting filleted by just about everyone, one critic even said that they could have just as well have had Shia run around with a blow-up sex doll in one arm and have done the same. I'm really interested in seeing her performance for myself.

What "performance"? :lol

BTW, a lot of folks here are going to blow gaskets over the latest BadAssDigest article:

By now you may have already seen Transformers: Dark of the Moon, or you’ll be seeing it tonight. I wanted to give folks a spot to talk about the movie, as well as a place to identify and isolate the people who liked it.

I also wanted to have a place where we could collaborate on answering some of the film’s most ridiculous plot holes. Fodder for discussion (spoilers, I guess):

- If Sentinel Prime switched sides during the Cybertron War to join the Decepticons, why did the Decepticons shoot him down?

- Why did Sentinel Prime teleport the Decepticons into DC when he wanted them to go to Chicago? It seems like a waste of time.

- Why were there a whole bunch of Decepticons buried on the Moon anyway? Why didn’t Megatron just use those guys in any of the previous two films? And why did they need to be teleported to Earth?

- Why did Sentinel Prime set up the main column or whatever in Chicago anyway? The Decepticons had a perfectly good camp in the shadows of Mount Kilimanjaro, where they would attract less attention.

- Whose bright idea was it to have Optimus Prime tangled in WIRES for most of the final battle?

- Why did Sentinel Prime pretend to be friendly with the Autobots? Why did the Decepticons chase Sentinel Prime back to the base?

- Seriously, what was the point of John Malkovich’s character?

- What was Patrick Dempsey’s big evil plan? To get Shia LaBeouf a job and then…? Why place Shia so close to the Decepticon conspiracy?

- Why was Shia’s involvement with the Transformers a huge secret?

Try your hand at answering any of these/defending the film in the face of these (“It was fun!”) below.

I'm sorry, but Rosie and gorgeous just don't go together. I know The Mike won't agree with me though. :lol

btw.......just read where Shia won't be doing anymore Transformers movies because "he can't offer anymore to the character of Sam" or some such ____. This isn't brain surgery, Shia! Ride the cash cow between other films! You just might need the money!

I point you to my Huntington-Whiteley defense below:

I like Rosie, I don't give a ____ who doesn't. I would pound her so hard I'd snap her pelvis out of place then keep going until it goes back into place, fixes her posture, deflates and reinflates her lips, then I'd smoke a cigarette, leap through a glass window just for the hell of it, fall 6 stories, roll under a taxi, but flip through the trunk, snake through the backseat entrance, kill the driver and head to SDCC afterwards for the panels but she is dating Jason Statham so that is probably just Thursday for her.

That being said, she can't act for ____, that little tease with Dempsey, it's really horrid. Nice public showing though of what Bay thinks of Fox's acting and relevance.

That's just standard Hollywoodspeak. He was probably encouraged to say something like that publicly by his publicist or manager as a contract negotiating ploy. Besides, the character of Sam Witwicky completed its full arc (if you can even call it than) within the first movie anyway. It's been cruise control since then.

Re: Transformers 3 Announced For 2011

MTV's Easter Eggs, nothing too shocking but I'll spoiler it just in case:

1. CARLY

In the film, Rosie Huntington-Whitely replaces Megan Fox as the girlfriend of Shia LaBeouf's character, Sam Witwicky. Rosie plays a character named Carly, and while the character is new to the live-action movie universe, she actually has a long history in the "Transformers" cartoons. In the original animated series, Carly is the wife of Spike Witwicky, who Shia's character is based on.

2. THE ARK

A big element of the new movie is a mysterious spaceship that crashes on the moon. Early in the film, Optimus Prime calls the spaceship The Ark. In the original "Transformers" cartoons, The Ark is the name of the spaceship that first brought Optimus Prime and the rest of the Transformers to Earth, though it fills a slightly different role in the new film.

3. LEONARD NIMOY

You might recognize the voice of one of the new Transformers in the film, Sentinel Prime, as "Star Trek" actor Leonard Nimoy. This isn't Nimoy's first time voicing one of the Robots In Disguise, as he provided the voice of Megatron's successor, Galvatron, in "Transformers: The Animated Movie" way back in 1986.

4. SPACE BRIDGE

Without giving away any spoilers, a major element of the new film's plot is the Space Bridge - a device that links Earth to the Transformers' home world, Cybertron. Though the device is put to a slightly different use in the live-action movie, it's been a longstanding part of Transformers history in the cartoons and comics, allowing them to travel between the two planets.

5. OLD NAMES, NEW ROBOTS

Along with the introduction of Optimus Prime's predecessor, Sentinel Prime, in the new movie, there are also quite a few other well-known Transformers making their debut in Dark Of The Moon. They'll be hard to miss, but keep an eye out for the debut of Autobots like Wheeljack (he looks like Albert Einstein) and Mirage (the red sports car), as well as Optimus Prime's trailer. Fan-favorite Decepticon Shockwave also has a big role in the film, and so does the bird-like Lazerbeak - though he doesn't transform into a cassette tape like his cartoon counterpart.

That's not news... it's been in the works for almost 2 years, and last year they closed the old Special Effects Stage along with Backdraft to make room for it...

Re: Transformers 3 Announced For 2011

I hadn't heard about it, but the news on a ride at Universal is pretty cool. :rock
