Why do such a thing?? Just smash your hand with a hammer. It will be cheaper, and ultimately less traumatic.

:lol

I just can't help but see this. I enjoy these movies so much. I still don't really get the plots have the time, but man, they still look so good.

I just saw this movie, last night at the Drive-In. While I actually managed to have a good time, even though the movie wasn't great, there were certain things about it that got on my nerves. It's already been mentioned here, but I can't believe that there wasn't at least a throw away mention of Galvatron, being that that was a major plot point of the previous movie in the series. Also, Grimlock seems to disappear for major portions of the movie. It's like with the addition of all the King Arthur stuff, the writers had no idea what to do with everyone. Speaking of which, I was actually surprised to find that I didn't hate that part of the story like I thought I would, but they weren't entirely successful at bringing it all together, either. Another area where the movie comes up short is the new Decepticons. While their designs are visually more memorable than the ones from past movies, most of them in this look and act ridiculous. Megatron would be an exception to that. He does look pretty cool. Most of the Decepticons' names in this (except for Megatron and Onslaught) are ridiculous too. One final observation: I wish they would have used the Quintassons in this. I guess naming the character Quintessa after the Quintasson's home planet was a nice homage, but the change also illustrates how these movies love to change things from the mythology, just for the sake of changing them.

Very good points.
I hadn't even noticed how bad the names were until you mentioned it.
For example; why "NitoZeus" when there's "Blastoff" who is already established in the TF lore? Many things felt like they were done at random.

Well, after seeing this (and brace yourself RIDDICK), I thought this sucked. :lol

I'm one of the few fans of this franchise, but even I can't defend this movie much. The robots looked awesome, and the supporting cast were good (as far as Transformers movies go.) But this movie just went too far, IMO.

- The jokes were bad.
- Optimus is no where to be found for 95% of the movie....and he's the leader of the **** Autobots....How do you make a movie where a robot named Cogman has more screen time than Optimus Prime???
- The plot was by far the worst of any Transformers movie.
- What the *** happened to Galvatron?
- How can you 'bench' Grimlock??????????

*and drum roll*

My final reason for not liking this movie (and I'm shocked that no one has mentioned this because I caught it the second it happened)....

How do you cast Stanley Tucci again.....IN A ROLE THAT IS NOT THE ROLE HE HAD IN THE LAST TRANSFORMERS MOVIE....and not expect people to take notice????? Did you not think fans would catch that???? I LOVE Tucci. He's an awesome actor, but c'mon. Casting knew better than to pull that bull****. Get someone else who's never played in Transformers movie before. It shouldn't be that hard.

:lol
For a while I thought Stanley's character would be an Ancestor to the one we see in the previous movie, but nope! :lol

I too like these movies for what they are, but like you said 2099....TLK went too far.
I'll still collect figures and statues from TLK though. :wink1:

Agreed. And honestly, I'll probably end of buying it on digital because I want to have all of the movies, but I'll wait until it's discounted or something. I've really enjoyed all of them up until this one. I know it sounds fun, but I was really surprised that it was THIS bad.

Yeah, I was really tempted to get Prime 1's Optimus (from TLK), but I think I'll end up passing on it for the Superior Optimus version (with the jet packs). The only thing that bothers me about it though is that it's not really a movie version. It's an artistic variation of the movie and other sources. I'd like a movie version to keep it 'matching' with the Grimlock I have. So not sure how I should play it at the moment.

Same here.
I'll get the movie just for completion's sake, or if they make a kickass collector's edition.

As for Prime 1, I'm sticking with the movie-bots.
Maybe you ought to look back instead of at future releases? (maybe a "used" statue)
My aim is to have the original 2007 Autobot team line up, and contrast it against the main villain of each of the 5 movies.
(TF1 pending...)

After thinking about the movie a little more, I thought of a few more things. Spoilers discussed below...

I noticed Optimus Prime flies in this movie. If I remember right, in previous movies he could not fly until he got the jet pack made from pieces of Jetfire (Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen). Maybe I'm forgetting, but did they ever address how he is able to fly now, without the jet pack?

In the scene where the T.R.F. is making a deal with Megatron, they refuse to release a Decepticon named Berzerker. The fact that they went to the trouble of showing this Decepticon and then said that he was too dangerous to release, made me think that this was foreshadowing and he would somehow escape by the end of the movie. But then....nothing. We never see him again. Was this character in any of the other movies and I just don't remember?

In the movie, Optimus Prime snaps out of being Nemesis Prime by hearing Bumblebee's true voice (we're getting into Martha territory, here). He makes some comment about not hearing Bumblebee's voice since they were on Cybertron. But that's plainly not true. Bumblebee talks to Prime at the time end of the first Transformer's movie (then voiced by Mark Ryan), when he tells him he wants to stay with Sam. I also noticed that they went with a different voice actor for Bumblebee for "The Last Knight." I looked it up, and the new voice actor is Erik Aadahl. Strange given that Mark Ryan also worked on "The Last Knight." Maybe they thought recasting the voice would help in keeping people from remembering that Bumblebee spoke in the first movie?

I don't remember, was the two-headed flying Dinobot from "Age of Extinction" in this one? I don't recall seeing him. Perhaps they thought it would be too easy to confuse him with that three-headed flying dragon from this one.

Does anyone else think making Earth Unicron was dumb? I waited five movies for Unicron and now I suppose I'm stuck with this dumb, non-transforming Unicron made out of water and dirt.

That is all.

I actually feel sorry for you guys who spent money to see this. Especially after AOE. I was actually considering seeing this when it is out digitally, but now after reading through everyones comments, I don't want to see it at all. Not even to see how bad it really is, like I did with Suicide Squad.

It shows you how little the producers/director care about this, and further, how little the audience cares that no one else has mentioned it :lol And frankly, I'm sure it doesn't matter one iota to the enjoyment (or lack thereof) that people have watching this thing.

The entire idea of Knight Transformers is dumb.
There's no need, nor was it part of the established lore.
That's why TF had Primes.

What's next? Protorian, Viking, Ninja, Navy Seal & SAS Transformers?
The CGI team is great, but other than that.... there are no other redeemable attributes to this movie.
Even Sir Anthony Hopkins got on my nerves.

I fell asleep for about 20-30 minutes in the middle, but I did like Megatron in this one...

Yeah, I have to give them that. Megatron was one of the few things they got right this time. Thinking about it, since he played Galvatron in the last movie, this was technically the first Frank Welker movie Megatron we've gotten
from the live-action movies (not counting his work with the movie tie-in video games). Really, he should have been voicing him from the beginning, IMO. He also looked badass in this one. I just wish they had explained why he suddenly wasn't Galvatron. With a room full of writers, you would have thought that they could have come up with something.

If Shockwave or even Soundwave were alive, they could have had them build Megatron's new body.
For now, I'll assume Galvatron corrupted a dead cybertronian and fused with it..... in doing so became Megatron again.
Or.... Galvatron got his hands on an Allspark shard.....again.

I still can't figure out how Megatron got that red Quintessa mark on his face.
There wasn't enough time for him to have contact with her and get back PRIOR to Optimus.

Another great question. I was wondering the same thing. I thought I missed something.

I saw it today...so...here goes:

First things first: My girl thinks G1 and my toys are ugly, but since 1 she thinks the transformers don't look like themselves and...she thinks this movie is a mess.

Where to start... pros:
Acting is decent.
CG is awesome
Megatron has the fusion cannon on his arm

Cons:

Babydinobots...wtf? Cute...but no sense, what so ever. ****ing protoform evolve to full cybertronions. Wtf bay?

Grimlock and that Triceratops (Slag): They all vanished at the end of 4. Why is only Grimlock with Cade and where do they emerge? Out of the ground and why is Slag with him and after that: where did they go?

Continuity: Megatron is no longer Galvatron. No mention why he looks different, what treacherous stuff with Starscream? That was never established. Wtf bay?

Decepticons: who the **** are these guys? A bike that transformers into a lizard headed dwarf? That was the worst. Barricade did pretty much nothing. Onslaught just died, berserker...ehhh.
Dreddbot...ehhh. they were just stand ins. The best was infernocus and he almost died directly too.

Bumblebee: voice...off...on and off again and measurements, bay. They took the eye out to access it, minutes later he rips it out of his throat. Huh?

Höt röd: nuff said.

Prime: he's prime, he's prime, he's prime. Shackles, no shackles, shackles. What?

Humor: sexual **** that's not funny.

Girl: advertised everwhere, almost nowhere to be seen. And where does the transformers experience comes from? In that year since 4 she...kinda rescued 30 autobots, or what? W.T.F, bay?

Quintessa: Quintus Prime, Prime of Life, or what? So one more Prime than established from ROTF? Huh?

Dragonstorm: 12 combine, right? Why did only 5, or 6 combine to get an alternate mode the same size.

I think that's it, but a point from Jessica (my girl):
Drive of the soldiers. Against Cade the entire time and at when Prime gets the staff...they united. Just like that.

Lovestory was ****ed too and we're on the same side saying that the women were plain stupid in here.

This is by far the worst. I was bored and there was stuff happening everywhere.
It was just stupid and I hope Bay does like a tree and leaves (that's how you do a reference, bay)

Hasbro should ask Marvel for help. Those guys have their **** together, except a few tiny things.
2/10 and that only, because action was decent and CGI was great, but otherwise, what bas does: lens flares, crooked camera angles and slomo where it doesn't belong.
