Out of curiosity, how are those any more retarded than the other movie TFs?

I think he means that they are in the movie to appeal more to the younger children in the audience, porb. as comic relief, more so than the other characters. Hell Bay even likened them to as bumbling, and "little engines that could" ....

"Mudflap is very hyperactive, while Skids believes himself to be the smarter of the two and tries to come across as mature, but nevertheless appears unable to keep quiet. Bay compared the message of the bumbling but heroic characters to the story The Little Engine That Could."

Time will tell....

All of the above. Plus a simple glance at their head designs is enough to make me roll my eyes. They look like a cross between Sloth from the Goonies and the "goofy" Gremlin from Gremlins 2. Absolutely AWFUL facial design (even for a Bayformer). These guys are dangerously close to walking in Jar Jar Binks territory, and all we've seen so far are the CG and toy designs (which all look dreadfully bad), plus the above Bay hints. I know it's terrible and rather un-PC for me to say it, but their heads definitely sport a stereotypical "mentally retarded" or deformed look.

At least you'll be able to point them out. They're not gunmetal.
I know a lot of people like the Bay TFs and I'm not trying to be a hater but I would have loved to see designs go through a director that had an interest in character design. It seems like his input to the artists consisted of "bigger, grayer, and pointier."

2nd trailer date!

60 days - REVENGE
Steven Spielberg sat next to me in a big 100 person theater at Sony today. There were 98 empty seats. The lights came up after we just watched my cut of Revenge of the Fallen. He turned to me and said
"It's awesome". He felt this movie was better then the first - and probably my best, who knows - at this point in a movie you start to lose your objectivity. I just hope the fans like it. I'm going to start putting it in front of audiences in a few weeks - no you are not invited, yet.

We have 60 days left. Let me tell you it will be a race to finish. It's 12 at night and we are still working here in the edit room. Everyone at ILM and DD are killing themselves right now, they are doing a stellar job on the effects. We also just finished our trailer which is coming out with Wolverine*. Talk to you soon.

Michael

*: May 1st! :rock

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen director Michael Bay says the film's executive producer, Steven Spielberg, thinks Bay's cut is "awesome" and that the new trailer will be released with X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Bay posted the following on his message board, :

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen hits conventional and IMAX theaters on June 24.

Why the hell has the marketing died on this movie?? I haven't seen ^^^^ on it in like 2 months??!!

Because movies like this sell themselves. They know people will go out in droves to see dumb Summer movies with lots of stuff blowing up throughout... especially one with giant fighting robots.

Pretty much. Sucky movies usually get way too much hype and ones that can hold their own get very little. The anomally is ones that can't sell themselves and just get poor marketing because the studio doesn't believe in it much, like last summer's Hulk.

Damn, was it really that bad?? Im seriously considering skipping it after all the negative stuff ive been hearing....

No it wasn't. Don't let the internetwebs make your decisions for ya. It was not a superhero masterpiece, but it was not the abomination kids are making it out to be either. I will see it again in the cinema.(I though it might have been better, but it wasn't the end of the world)

(of course a lot of the kiddies only seem to care about DeadPool so.....)

Sorry, but Deadpool and Gambit were the only good part of the movie.

And to bad Gambit didn't get more time. He was decent.

But I will just pay for another movie, go into Wolverine for the trailer and then go to my movie.

Honestly, the DP thing wasnt even the worst part. Theres zero character development, zero reason for anything. Its dull, and poorly written crapola. IMO a corse.

Its a movie made for "kids". :lol
