I have seen Grindor in stores and he is a voyager class repaint..well, molded in white i think..

Optimus rips his face in half

I know-- that's who I'm talking about. It would have been nice in that scene if instead of just screaming "Decepticons!" Megatron could've added his name along with Starscream. Anonymous robots as cannonfodder bothered me about this movie.

The movie didn't make any sense at all...
This is seriously one of the most stupid films I have ever seen in my life...
what a waste...
Ughh!!!!
Made me appreciate The Phantom Menace and AVP:R...

Wow. I liked it. Why such animosity towards it (besides the juvenile humour--)?

I believe that list you quoted earlier was of the toys?..i don't remember seeing Smokescreen(Jazz repaint) in the movie.

Here's a message from Bay:

Michael Bay has posted a message on Shoot For the Edit thanking the fans for their support on the opening day of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, for making it one of the biggest single opening days in movie history at $60 Million in the US and around $100 million worldwide.

The 400 critics around the globe spoke. Then fans around the world spoke.

Transformers made $60.6 million dollars in the United States for a total of around $100 million from the world on opening day! One of the biggest single days in movie history.

They never seem to understand that I make movies for people to take a ride and escape.

To all the Transformer Fans - Thank You

Michael

I still love the movie.

Get real, it's a franchise based on kids toys FFS!

A "serious" Transformers movie aimed towards the hardcore adult fans would make next to nothing at the box office simply because it wouldn't appeal to a wide enough audience the way the current ones do.

I don't think this is true. I actually think a serious transformers film would make MORE money than the ones bay makes. and you're making it sound like I'm saying that this should appeal to ONLY transformer fans, which isn't what I was saying. does spider man 2 appeal to only spider man fans? does x men 2 only appeal to x men fans? do the batman movies appeal to only batman fans? you could keep ALL the human characters and just retool them so they could fit in a apocalyptict setting, which is where I got I am Legend from.

and just because it is based on an old toy line and cartoon show means the movies have to be mindless? and talking about kids toys, you have two autobots that call each other ^^^^^es, want to shoot each other in the face, and then call one of the main characters a ^^^^^? there's nothing kid friendly about this movie really. but I know I'm not the only one that wants to see this franchise taken seriously. ever read any of simon furmans comics? that guy knows how to write transformers, he takes the subject matter seriously and his comics are some of the best transformers stories ever written. but the movie is what it is, I don't want to start a long argument about it, I was just open to a conversation.

^^^ gotta agree with that sentiment about the twins using that language and behavior. it's the reason I'm not taking my 4 year old to see this.

I see your point there, though i do know if i have kids..i will try my best not to shelter them from too much as in my experience with other kids/teenagers growing up, the sheltered kids hit rock bottom later on in life.

Just got back from it, And loved it. Superior to the first film, Glad to see Bay took a little more from the Origins of the series, and integrated more, Frank Welker as Soundwave made me smile, tremendously, and I had almost no trouble understanding Starscream and megatron this time around. They did a much better job of balancing the human parts and the transformers part, though it still felt a little heavy on the human parts, it was not as bad as the first go round.

Jetfire the anchient.... meh. it was ok, but I think that the character would have worked better as someone like Vector Prime, or Alpha Trion.

Overall, 3.5 out of 5. I enjoeyed it, and the little line at the begenning "If god made us in his image, who made them?" i think will end up coming back around for the third film.

It's not a matter of sheltering... Who brings young kids (and I'm talking four and five) to a theatre??? There was a family with several young kids in the theatre when I saw this movie (thankfully they were sitting far enough away that they weren't totally bothering me) and they were talking throughout. A four or five year old doesn't have the attention span to sit and watch a movie without questioning/reacting/getting up... It's sheer idiocy to bring small children to a movie theatre that isn't going to be packed with similar young patrons (a la a "G" Disney flick) so n one cares/notices-- Yes, the price of babysitting might add to the evening but guess what? If you can't afford it don't leave home. Go to *^(%$(^&& blockbuster.

:monkey1 There done my rant.

I liked the movie. Watching it right now in fact for the fourth time. :naughty

I totally agree about 4-5yr olds..i mean more like restricted movies at the age of say 10-14 whatever...i watched lots of ultra violent movies/cartoons growing up and i mean we all know that the eighties had more violent cartoons then what we see nowadays.

Come to think of it, my first movie ever in the theatre was E.T when i was 2 or 3 but, ofcourse i never remembered a thing.

I'm with you, it wasn't unbearable, but I'd say seeing TF2 was my worst theatrical experience in years of movie going. I'm sure I was a chatty kid when my parents used to take me, but I'm hearing these kids behind me during the movie getting scared and asking about everything and getting up constantly, it was a bit distracting and at one point, one of the swearing lines came out of one of the twins and the kid immediately repeated it. I know some of TF is geared towards little kids, but I wouldn't take any kid under like 10 to it, younger than that and they're too sponge like and all, it's not the best for them, it's probably going to be unfair to movie goers. Sure they might hound you at home to see it and get pissed if you don't take them, but I think that's a price of parenting, sometimes you're going to be the bad guy even when you know you're doing the right thing.

To be honest kids hear worse at schools these days, and 9 year olds and younger shouldn't even see this movie or the first anyways. Not without the finger on the fast forward button anyways.

ever read any of simon furmans comics? that guy knows how to write transformers, he takes the subject matter seriously and his comics are some of the best transformers stories ever written.

Are you kidding me? Furman does good overarching plots, yes, but most of his stuff nowadays is drawn out, has boring pretentious dialogue, disappointing ends to story arches and all the bots either act or talk the same.

I have more of an issue with adults that act like children at big movie opening weekends, i usually wait a few weeks for all the jerks that kick the back of my seat and play with their iphones etc..to clear out, or i have had a few instances with a few jamaican ladies sucking her teeth behind me so hard throughout the movie, i swear the suction was so strong that my popcorn was flying over my shoulder. :lol

There were three (I'd guess 10 or 12 year olds) sitting directly behind me and my wife. They talked before the trailers-- They talked during the trailers somewhat less-- But when the movie started and they kept talking I turned around and in a loud enough voice that others in the theatre would know (not George Costanza good cause they were kids you understand) I said "I paid to hear the movie not you guys." And they were good as gold for the rest of the movie.

Today's generation (sounding old) are used to watching movies on DVD in the comfort of home and that's why they don't know how to be a movie-going audience member. It's driving the old fuddy duddies like me out of theatres.

well actually now that I look the only furman books I have are the war within TPBs, which were never finished, but they were amazing to me lol the other ones I have are the transformers vol 1 and 2 from DW and they were written by chris sarracini and brad mick. then I also have 3 Gi Joe vs. transformers series which the world war 2 one is by far my favorite of any of the books I have. that's what I would like to see from a transformers movie.
