Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

God these things are masterpieces. I can't believe how life like they all are. If only Trev was a Back to the Future fan then I could get my Marty and Doc done right....:monkey2

ohhh man, Mike...I definitely AM a BTTF fan....there is no shortage of awesome characters I'd love to sculpt. :) Time and responsibilities are the only thing that make it tough to get around to everything!

Trev

Maybe after the Firefly crew is done, huh?:yess:

Oh...my...god. If you sculpted Marty and the Doc I would do a backflip, and at probable risk to injury as I have never done one before.

I just finished my bashes for both characters and I'm happy with them, but if I had your sculpts to top them off...I can't even process that level of awesomeness.

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

BTTF is high on my list of 1/6 scale heads I'd like to do, so we'll have to see about pursuing that after Firefly.... It's fun for me to have these side projects going, even if I can't spend much time on them due to work. It'd be a great challenge to try and sculpt Marty and Doc.

cadaver- man I love your Wash figure! Great choice in outfit, although I like yours just as well, Old Grandpa. Wash has some interesting possibilities outfit-wise!

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

Hey Cadaver, really love your Wash. Now I kinda wish I'd gone that route instead of with the tan jump suit and Hawaiian shirt. Just got the word, my Wash sculpt is on the way to Josh for paint. Really getting antsy now.

Old Grandpa

I wouldn't change yours at all OG. I think if you wanted to change anything, you should just get a tact vest. I've been looking for a Hawaiian shirt that I can put on if I ever want to change up the look.

If you want to change it up, maybe this look?

but really I enjoy yours lots.

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

what's the orange jumpsuit/tac vest look from? is that what he wore in the movie? apologies for my bad memory.

The first episode of Firefly. Its the first costume you see him in. He also wears it in other episodes. the movie is much more clean looking then a jumpsuit and tact vest. He has some weird vest strap thing and a fancy green jumpsuit I think.

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

I remember the awe I felt the first time I unwrapped the FF sculpts from their protective bubble wrap. There was the eagerness of a child on Christmas morning to tear away the paper that hid the treasures inside. I held all three packages in my hands, and gazing through the slightly translucent wrap I selected one at random. As I carefully cut the tape and removed the packaging, I stood in amazement at a miniature replica of Adam Baldwin. As anxious as I was to tear open the others I couldn't take my eyes off of the masterpiece in front of me. The detail, the accuracy, the subtle expression that captured the soul of the character. Time seemed to stand still as I was transfixed by his accomplishment. As each head emerged my wonder and bewilderment increased, and I felt a juvenile giddiness with the knowledge that I owned these amazing works. Over the weeks I painted them, and carefully drilled out the necks, and labored at a sewing machine to bring the full figures to life. I found myself growing so familiar with my treasures that I forgot the level of astonishment I had at my first glance until the day Kaylee arrived and I sat transfixed once again.
Today Wash was delivered and I sit with the same reverence as I have done each time. I am looking at each individually crafted strand of hair, layering over the others, the subtle detail of the yes and the magnificent structure of the ears in such fine precision that I wonder how a human can master tools at such a fine scale.
Trevor, you are amazingly talented, yet without a hint of arrogance that often comes with such ability. In all my dealings with you, I never cease to be impressed with you on all levels. Thank you for another showpiece, and to those of you who haven't received Wash yet, prepared to be blown away because, once again the photos don't do it justice.

Anzik, I can't wait till you are done painting mine. Can't wait to see him!

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

OMG, I almost missed another Trevor FF sculpt. Trev, please put me on the list for Wash. Thanks!

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

Awwww Man! :slap

Trev - you just gotta stop producing such awesome work. I still need to get my Mal, Jayne, and Zoe painted up and put together, and I swore off completely the rest of the crew due to the costs involved. Then you go and do Kaylee, and then a truly jaw-dropping Wash - you really make me wanna jump in to do the rest of the gang!

I guess I just gotta be disciplined and be happy with the trio, while repeating "I do not need the entire Firefly crew...I do not need the entire Firefly crew...I do not need the entire Firefly crew..." :lol

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

Man, that really means a lot, Anzik. I greatly appreciate what you wrote, and I couldn't be happier that the Firefly pieces have given you such enjoyment. THAT'S what keeps me coming back to do more.

Wash orders are going into full swing now. If you got any of the past characters you'll be contacted at some point to get in on Wash if you so choose. My hope is that these will be available for as long as they are needed. I suppose the only thing that could halt it is if I'm ever told to stop by some high ups. :) We gotta make sure to avoid any Alliance entanglements.

I hope to get this boat's Companion done in the next month or two....she should debut by Thanksgiving or thereabouts...After Inara, I'll be going on to Book, who I'm very excited to begin. With any luck, this will all be wrapped up by mid 2011, and you'll all be able to have a complete crew if you want!

Thank you again, folks!
Trev

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

Awesome! I'm so Glad I started looking for stuff for Book!

I'm at a loss for Inara. My girlfriend said she would sew me a dress and make it all fancy.

I love your work Trevor, and as glad as I will be when I finish the crew, I know I will be sad that I can't check for more updates from you on these. Its really made this last year or so really enjoyable for me. Thank you for all your work! I think my Detolf is gonna be Trevor only headsculpts.

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

Just sent off payment for Wash..... Another outstanding sculpt. It is great to see a personality coming from Trev's sculpts unlike the blank stare on mass market figures. Is River figuring into the sculpt line or did I miss something?
