Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

Just sent off payment for Wash..... Another outstanding sculpt. It is great to see a personality coming from Trev's sculpts unlike the blank stare on mass market figures. Is River figuring into the sculpt line or did I miss something?

Trev says he thinks that Irnara sould be done before Christmas, followed by Book with River and Simon bringing up the rear.

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

I'm done the jumpsuit, inner brown ribbed shirt, working on a vest today and starting to paint tonight.

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

BTTF is high on my list of 1/6 scale heads I'd like to do, so we'll have to see about pursuing that after Firefly.... It's fun for me to have these side projects going, even if I can't spend much time on them due to work. It'd be a great challenge to try and sculpt Marty and Doc.

I would happily wait however long it took to get a Marty and Doc with this kind of TLC. You made my day Trevor with this little glimmer of hope. :1-1:

Hey, I know that I am incredibly late to the game on this, but I am one of the biggest firefly fans you will ever meet and was wondering if I could still possibly catch up with these things.

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

Have we ever seen what shoes Wash wears? I imagine him wearing sneakers, but maybe I'm making that up.

And looking ahead: anybody got any ideas for Shepherd books grey clerical shirt? Looking at you, Old Grandpa, I have followed your lead many times over the course of this project...!

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

Okay after some research, these are Wash's boots. Finding them in 1/6 has me stumped.

Hey Jiminy, glad I've been of some help. When it came to Books shirt, I tried a few off eBay but I couldn't make any of them look even close. I took the easy way out. I went to a woman that males doll clothes and she is makeing me his shirt. She's also making me a dress for Inara. You saw what the first try on the Inara dress looked like. Could only be better.

Don't know, but the first thought I had was :
WOW!! Hasbro's Jango Fett boots!

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

Depending on if you want to make a Serenity look for him you will have to use some other shoes.

Ive heard a story that those shoes that they made him wear on Firefly were some custom made boots that the prop department made quickly, without really paying attention to the comforts usually put into the making of shoes. Thus, they were hard, plasticy rubber with no padding that were really painful for Alan to wear. So when it came time to make Serenity, he asked for some regular boots instead.

Trevor, if you make BTTF figure you would be fufilling one of my childhood dreams of having Doc and Marty action figures. Im excited just thinking about finally getting them!

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

Okay so here's a possible, relatively cheap solution for Inara ... this is the dress from the 12" Hasbro (I think) Mary Jane Spiderman movie figure. It's far from perfect, made from thick material with some weird tailoring in places, but it's more or less in the ballpark I think.

Thats one of the better Inara dresses I've seen. Nice Oriental look. Like the high heels you used. Where did they come from. I had a tough time finding good heels. Ended up with a pair from Hot Toys Chacha Asai.

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

Hey OG, those shoes are actually shoes and feet sculpted together, used to be offered for sale by Old Joe Infirmary, but they have revamped their website and don't seem to have them any more. They were designed to attach to Cy Girl ankle posts, but I never really liked how they looked, so what you're looking at there is a work in progress -- the shoe/feet are glued to ankle pegs, then puttied over to smooth out the breaks between feet/ankle peg/leg, then painted. When I eventually get Trev's Inara sculpt, which we all know without even seeing it will be extraordinary, I will paint the head sculpt and the legs/feet the same skin tone, and hopefully end up with a figure that at least looks passable..!

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

I think that would work quite well as a nice start for Inara, Jiminydog! Very good idea! I spent some time this past weekend on Inara, and I think she would look good with that outfit.

If it helps, Inara is being done with her hair up in a sort of glamorous fashion. Think of a cross between her look in "Shindig" and her look in Serenity, the film, when Mal goes to meet her.

Keep up the great work, all of you! Can't wait to start seeing Wash figures!

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

I just got my Wash head, Trev... I think it's my favorite so far.

Simply brilliant... captured the character perfectly! I just purchased a body for him... so let the bashing begin.

Only have the Mal Reynolds but by god this is a great sculpt

Please please please apply your talents to a Summer Glau version and make a battle damaged Termie version to boot !

Here's Wash! very nearly done, just gotta do a little clean up and then I'll take some time to mold him.

I hope you guys enjoy seeing it,
Trev
