Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

Actually Mal is on a standard TT :) I went with the broader shoulders to help offset the slightly oversized head.

Unfortunately cadaver is right about those boots, seems like all newline boots are slowly disappearing.

Right, OG's is on a narrow. It's hard to keep track.

Sweet, thanks!

Sucks about those officer boots though. My Mal is going to have to go shoeless for awhile.

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

WOW, no posts in 4 days. I always check this thread for updates on all of my favorite bashes. Is everyone waiting for something like I am. My Wash sculpt is at Small Studios getting painted. The woman who's making the outfits for some of the figures is having a family crisis, and I'm playing the waiting game, and now the thread is drying up. I'm in this for the long haul. I hope the rest of you Browncoats are too.

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

I am too! I haven't really had an update. I can't start new figures till I am done school. I have been thinking about starting Inara but thats really going to by my girlfriends project.

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

Old Grandpa- If it's any consolation, I have been working on Inara a little bit throughout the last couple of weeks. She's a tough one to crack, but I still hope to have her done by the end of the month. :) I think I've pretty much finished up the Wash casting run, so that gives me more time to focus on Inara.

I always love seeing what everyone's cookin' up. Can't wait to see more from you all!

I love to see what others are doing too. This is a really great thread, and Trev, your passion for all things Firefly is really what makes these such a treat. :)

Hey Cadaver. Saw some of the stuff your girlfriend is working on. She had a great take on something for Inara. Love to get an update from her. She should post more of her thoughts on the thread. She seems quite talented.

Glad to hear from you Trev, and thanks for the progress report. When last we spoke, you were thinking of casting earrings on the Inara sculpt. I would prefer adding my own earrings, as I've found a great source for earrings and matching necklaces, and some would be great on Inara. Thanks,

Thanks OG! Ya she is pretty awesome. She has been tied up with other commitments but hopefully soon she will have something.

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

Yes, Inara will definitely be sculpted WITHOUT earrings, so that you guys can deck her out as you see fit.

It'll be a trip to finally start Book soon! We're gettin' there...

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

I was thinking about how to do Inara's outfit today, and it came to me. How about this robe from the Hot Toys Prince of Persia figure:

It would be a bit large on her, but after a bit of modification (and cutting away a bunch) it might work for creating this look:

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

At the moment I'm tied up building a death star playset for my son that I want to have done before Christmas, and after that I will start working on the bridge dio for Wash complete with his chair.

God, I wish I had your talent. You're building a Death Star, amazing.

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

Keep up the good work guys! Even though I could only commit to Mal I still lurk in this thread daily!

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

Thanks OG I appreciate it. So far I've done working hanger blast doors,a section of corridor, the trash compactor, communications room that overlooks the hanger and I'm working on the detention level that sits above the trash compactor. I still need to do the swing across scene, the tractor beam control and the turbo lift.

Is this to be a Christmas gift or just for the heck of it?

PS: I realise this is a bit off topic, but what the hell, it's the holiday season.

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

I love building stuff for my kids. My daughter has a Barbie mermaid environment, a castle and a Tinkerbell house. My son has Jabba's palace and soon a death star play set.
