SilentSurfer-Wow! That's a great Mal paintup. The eyes have so much life! Fillion's eyes are surprisingly difficult, and you really made them look great! Terrific tones throughout, too. the lips blend perfectly with the face.

Thank you very much, Trevor. Yes, Fillion's eyes are a bit tricky. Props to you for so accurately sculpting them with his right eyelids a little narrower. It was very challenging to keep the eyes looking at the same level given the correct difference in shape. It's an honor to put my paint on the work of one of Sideshow's finest sculptors, and I hope to do it soon in a more official capacity, huh? Keep these coming. I've got some African American sculpts coming up in commissions, so I think my Zoe is soon to see some color.

I've done Jayne and Kaylee so far for my personal collection. I did two other Mals along with mine pictured above. Zoe and Wash are as soon as I can get to them.

Sorry, I didn't see this til now. Excellent flesh tone and texturing. I know these aren't translucent casts, but that actually looks like it could be. Impressive.

Hey Tex, love your Nathan Fillion collection, but where's Rick Castle? The only thing I'd comment on is the gun belt on Mal. Look back through this thread and see what Cadaver did. The Belt from Stevo is all wrong and Cadaver has a great fix for it. I've done it and it makes a world of difference. Love your Capt. Hammer. The gloves really set him off. All you need is a Dr. Horrible.

Yours looks fantastic, Cadaver!! Where did you get those pants? The only ones I found actually didn't have the belt loops.

Hey Marf, im trying to follow your recepie for Mal and was wondering what kind of Truetype body you used.


Also, those damn Japanese officer boots are the one part which I have been unable to track down. If anyone knows somewhere that I could get some could one of you please point me in the right direction.

Narrow truetype.

As for the boots, good luck. They are going the way of the new line Indy boots.

An option you can try is explorer boots from that mummy knock off figure.

Actually Mal is on a standard TT I went with the broader shoulders to help offset the slightly oversized head.

Unfortunately cadaver is right about those boots, seems like all newline boots are slowly disappearing.

Good call there. His head does look a bit large on some bashes, but not on yours.
