Kind of confused about the "aluminum frame with ball joints" described in the instagram post and the "poseable wire frame" in the product solicitation.
I really want to preorder all of these right this second, but the confusion about the articulation and the big dip in quality with production pieces in the past gives me pause.
Still, I've been waiting for these since I was nine years old!

I'm testing the waters with Daffy. I'll get the rest minus Gizmo later if it comes out good.

They still haven't and apparently cannot do Gizmo properly from either film. I've given up on that character, unfortunately.

I've got more hope for these compared to the hand puppets, least they've used reference from Rick Baker.

Daffy is a must! I do know that the hands etc are vinyl but I don't get why they went with foam for the body given that's probably not gonna last long.

As for Gizmo I think every company seems to struggle even Medicom.

Man, if there were ever a set of characters that could use different plug-in mouth plates for different expressions, it's these.

It would be so simple to incorporate and would have added so much in regards to display options. It boggles the mind why they'd not implement that here.

Anyway.. these apparently got pushed back a month until December.

These look promising regardless of the lack of features the fact they are $99 each is a huge steal if they turn out great?

Making it in time for Christmas hopefully very excited for these.

I'm hoping these are factory production not proto but tots said end of November/December so hopefully that's a production piece.

If so these are a steal and will be sought after I think. George and Daffy look amazing especially!

All they really have to do is eyes and fur well, clearly the paint apps on the mouth and feet are factory done, but for a modder like myself , adding detail to those areas would be simple....

Get the fur and eyes right and this will be super cool with added paint.

These look good. Hesitant to order as I have Mogwai Stripe made from them. It was alright, but next to the Medicom Gizmo it just felt... kinda cheap. I'll get Mohawk and Gizmo if this comes out well but the price is excellent.

These look very close to the protos. Very pleased. I wish the sculpts were better, with gizmo probably suffering the most, but for the money these are fantastic. Probably the best we're going to get for a long while.

whatas up with Gizmo's feet lol looks like he has a belly of fur and then thin leg fur!
I got Medicom Rambo Gizmo which is excellent so not sure if I should get this too

I'll probably just pick up Lenny and George from this set. I heard articulation isn't that good on these.. like they can't sit like in the prototypes or their heads are so stiff they can't turn. But aesthetically, they look a lot better than previous attempts made by other companies.

I don't have any pics to share, but after opening Mohawk, Lenny and George today, here are my thoughts.

The slip tray inside the box has pads specific to each mogwai's ear shape that keep them from rubbing or taking bad bumps. It shows a unique level of thoughtful care on an otherwise straightforward graphic box. That attention to detail in a place you don't typically see it leaves a good impression.

Paint is exceptional for a production piece at this price point - hands and feet especially. My Mohawk had one eye without the second pink color wash over it. Something looks off and once you figure it out you can't unsee it.

Fur is again exceptional given the budget on these. I had a glue smear in the fur on the back of a shoulder (where there was no seam, just got accidently brushed) and there are parts where you can feel overlap of fur swatches, but no seams between colors were apparent. Pretty impressed with that, along with what appears to be air brushed detailing for some of Lenny's patterning. I brushed their fur down, which helped with the frizzy look right out of the box, but the hair is too bristly to get the smooth look of the film or even the tots solicitation protos. They may have used some hair product for the photos, who knows? 🤷

Articulation? Argh.
The original instagram post read that the ears, hands and feet were ball jointed. The ears and neck are, the hands and feet are cut joints (that in one case was glued together with overlapping fur for me). They can't sit down - the foam is too dense and rigid. The articulation is hard to be happy with because the range of motion is there, but the foam causes the armature to rebound about 70% in extreme cases. These are just not as poseable as I feel we were led to believe, and that's a bummer. The nature of a full sized delinquent mogwai is that you want to be able to pose them interacting with and/or destroying their environment. These are capable of demonstrating little to no involved hijinks. They can mostly just stand there and look around and perk their ears quizzically.

There are plenty of reasons they aren't perfect, but in the context of what ToTS typically produces and what has historically been offered in the realm of 1/1 scale mogwai, these are well worth the asking price (it appears the ToTS store bumped the second batch up $5? No pun intended). However limited the articulation is and comparatively cartoony the sculpts are, they present cleanly and they have good shelf presence.

If anyone has any more specific questions, I'd be happy to answer them.

Hope everyone enjoys theirs!

Spot on review here which echoes my thoughts exactly.

They're all worthy of a pickup EXCEPT Gizmo and that is a crying out loud damn shame. There is no futzing that thing to be Giz.

It's just not happening. Sadly.

Now on the other hand, overly pampering these little guys will result in something completely, wildly off.

While the owner is likely happy with this (and more power to them, have fun, yo)

It shouldn't be a set standard of how they should look. They still need a bit of ruffy, unkempt fur, here and there imo.

Looking like they just walked out of a Hollywood Salon isn't how these little dudes are ment to look like.
