IMAX was way better then that small screen real d crap. IMAX was TOTAL immersion. Real-D was only semi immersion. I had to sit real close just to kinda get that feel.

We're talking about the quality of 3D, it's better in Real-D than on IMAX...
Size-wise, yes, IMAX is better... I'll go see Tron both on Imax and Real-D
anyways!!! :yess:

I think I'll be seeing Tron first on regular size screen so that I can soak in the story and detail better. Then I'll go see it on IMAX to be blown away by the scale.

:hi5: Me too. I get there early to get a seat in the middle, and really hate it when people show up late to the movie and get pissed because I won't scoot over to accommodate them. :dunno

I think that was my main issue with Avatar...we sat on the side in IMAX as that's what was available when we got there. Constantly as images went from one side of the screen to the next the 3D blurred and it was a BIG distraction.

I think it might be okay if you could sit smack dab in the middle in IMAX. Ours just isn't very big so you're absolutely going to be asked to move over when it's sold out.

I saw Alice in Wonderland in 3D in a regular theater though and the experience, for me, was a thousand times better. We did however sit pretty much in the middle. With ticket prices what they are....I'm going with the sure thing.

On the other hand, I'm pretty jacked just to see this movie in my home on Blu Ray. I'll bet that blue'ish hue and black just seeps through the TV.

Will Tron Legacy flop? The Hollywood Reporter thinks so. What do you guys think?

The original Tron was considered a failure in 1982 — and now, early tracking says Tron Legacy is on track to be another disappointment. The $200 million sequel could have a lackluster opening weekend. Plus check out two new featurettes.

The drumbeat of marketing for Tron Legacy has been ferocious for months now — among the geek crowd, the movie has been promoted at three successive San Diego Comic Cons, but there's also been tons of marketing to mainstream audiences who feel nostalgia for the original Tron. The assumption among industry-watchers has been that Tron Legacy would have a huge opening weekend, followed by a decent pair of legs.

But according to the Hollywood Reporter, the early tracking for Tron Legacy is looking weak — the movie could make as little as $35 million domestically in its opening weekend. To make back its lavish budget, the film needs to make well over $50 million in the U.S., just in its first weekend. Part of the problem: With just two weeks remaining until the movie's release, Disney is scrambling to find ways to garner more female interest in the film.

Bear in mind, though, that it's still too early to predict with any certainty. And THR did talk to one executive at a rival studio who said "he believes it would be wrong to sell Tron Legacy short just yet, suggested an opening of at least $50 million remains possible."

Could Tron Legacy be yet another example of a geek-friendly movie, based on a cult franchise, that doesn't quite manage to gain a wider audience? We'll find out in just a couple of weeks.

Yeah, I mean Avatar never had a great weekend, but it had a lot of good ones. I don't see it being a flop, and I don't see why anyone would think it would be. We'll find out tomorrow once the embargo on reviews lifts if the movie is good. But all indications point to it being amazing.

Wouldn't care one way or another review wise...good or bad, they are getting my $11 on opening weekend to add to their earnings.

Can't wait to see it!

I sat right in the middle of the IMAX Avatar...I didnt notice any blurs, any trails...the image was crystal clear.

Right, that's what I'm saying...IF I would have sat in the middle I'm sure the experience would have been much better. However I sat on the left side of the screen and I didn't care for it at all.

Ah. Well, I was closer to the middle, but I wasnt quite there. But yeah, 3D, if you're not in middle, regardless of what format you're seeing, it'll suck.

Just read that...most of it, didn't want to spoil anything.

Sounds like it's pretty dang awesome! Good to hear that the 3D is pretty great as well.

Harry also likes Nightmare on Elm Street remake. His opinion is invalid.

And the Chud Devin ****** is...well... a ******...so.....

''Last week, director Michael Bay announced that the first trailer for Transformers: Dark of the Moon would be attached to either The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader or TRON: Legacy''

I am guessing it will be Tron
