But this is a bust of the 'twilight' wraith, not the human in the prologue...

Woodsy, you seem to have owned alot of Weta stuff!
Being serious, do you honestly think it's a good likeness when you compare the photos? The crown is too big, the face is too wide and fat, it's too blue...everything is wrong with it.
I don't like it so won't be buying it, no. I'm just amazed that people actually thinks it's a good likeness! If you like it as a version of the Wiki, fine, but.......words fail me! I think a few people need their eyes testing.
Ho well, waste your money if you will. A fool and his money are easily parted.

I owned a ton of Weta stuff, and I still own a large collection I will never sell. And yes I do think the resemblance between the production photo's and the SS bust are very similar and I think it is certainly more accurate than the Weta version. If I didn't believe it, I wouldn't say it.
Obviously the entire SS creative team involved in the project also thought so and I doubt that every one of them is suffering from poor eyesight. Are there things I'd like to see changed....certainly as it is far from perfect, but it is good enough for me to want to add it to my collection, and no amount of crying by some of you guys is going to change that

Woodsy, I cannot begin to see how you can say the way the piece came out and the way the photos look are the same. The face in the photos is much thinner and a purple color mixed in. The SS piece has a blue mostly and the face appears to be quite wide. It may look like a Twilight Ringwraith but it isn't the WK. I've been accused of being a SS Rose Colored eye glass wearing defender but they didn't get this one done to the level I would hope.

I'm sure this has been noted many times already...but its the crown that also (besides the leno chin) really bugs me...tiny spikes on the crown and they appear to point inward at an angle, rather than straight up. LSB:emperor

Thats fine but if you choose to react childishly as you put it to other peoples posts then please make your comments directly to Woodsy and don't generalize as you did in your post, I mean at the end of the day some of us like this bust and others don't, that doesn't mean we are all fools and need our eyes tested, and besides whatever happened to "collector support and spirit" on here anyway?? Isn't that why we have forums for our "kind" so that we can share in the fun of collecting!

I'm kind of torn on this one. I do think it reeks of leno chin, but I also think the pics may be partially to blame. A couple of the shots make the LSB look really good, and the chin doesn't look as disproportionate. Those head-on (chin-on?) shots are just awful though.

Just a thought and to play devil's advocate for a sec... I think if they created an LSB that looked exactly like that photo that was posted, people'd be complaining that he's got pucker face. Seriously, they could offer it as an exclusive with a magnetic lemon you could attach to his mouth.

Maybe it's just a tough character to pull off? From what I remember in the movies, he was a ghostly character, lacking definition. Obviously, that's near impossible to pull off when sculpting.

I can't believe I'm being told to grow up by YOU! After your posts! I thought you were about 14!

As with the bust (After you've got your personal business out of the way in such a public way) I just can't see how anyone can see it as a good likeness. I'm not telling you to not buy it! If you like it fine, but it looks nothing like the WK. And the fact I have to keep repeating it just shows how much you pay attention.
Another thing I have to keep repeating to you is that I am also a Sideshow fan, like you! I know, incredible. That's why I'm on these forums!
But I do prefer sculpted pieces, I love all the intricate details sculpted into a piece, which makes me a statue lover, not neccesarily a Weta lover, which is backed up by the fact I love Sideshow's diorama line and will try to purchase every piece. I'm very excited about having all those Weta statues showing off all the characters, cultures and creatures, and to have next to that still moments from the film will look - I hope - very special.
And it used to be nice to talk about the stuff on here until you started arguing with everything. Nowhere have I tried to turn this into a Weta vs Sideshow thing, they're all LOTR products, and it was you that started to hint that it WAS a Weta vs Sideshow issue, and thus it is no longer enjoyable being on these forums when we have to put up with childish posts from you, a father no less!

I suspect you are looking to get a rise out of members here, and while I can resist to a point -- you have indeed succeeded.

I am by no means a "Weta-only" collector, and have actually found the majority of Sideshow's solo offerings to be quite good; but not all of them, and not without blind allegiance. I could honestly care less what you buy - that's your right; I haven't lost any sleep over the allmighty woodsy and his/her collection. At the same time, I do think I am allowed an opinion and without being antagonized and or baited into some form of pissing match with someone looking to be the sole proponent of a piece. You like it, great; I don't and I don't think it looks remotely close to the pics posted in the production blog. I stated that those pics didn't help Sideshow's case, and seemed quite honestly as an attempt to do just that. We are entitled to an opinion, and I wouldn't and don't go around suggesting that one needs their eyes examined just because of their viewpoint.

I am sure you are attempting to be funny in a very antagonistic way, but lay off of the horse --- he's long dead.

My comments -and also I think Woodsy's - were unacceptable and the kind of slanging match me and Woodsy have been showing shouldnt be seen on a message board about collectibles. I really don't enjoy these forums any more and think it best if I didn't visit, at least then the arguments would stop.

Guys I'll say one thing we collectors sure have and thats PASSION!!! Its like the WWF on here sometimes!! Don't enough people think we are nerdy and weird enough to obsess the way we do (or is that just me??) about these amazing pieces without us ourselves turning on each other over nothing but opinions which by the way we are all entitled to and they are nothing BUT OUR OPINIONS no more no less, so I think seriously that we should all take each others' comments and opinions with a pinch of salt and also RESPECT, you don't have to agree with each other but acknowledge our differences.
