It may just be a time zone thing -- sometimes people get nutty after certain hours -- but are we to always bow to the mighty Sideshow sculptor?

Absolutely not. There are all sorts of things I'd like to see changed with this bust...but the likeness isn't one of them. Now if it's a lack of that's causing your nuttiness I can completely understand... perhaps you should call it a day?

Woodsy, I write that there are more photos of the real thing out there, and better than the ones in the Production Blog, and that they definitely give lie to the Sideshow likeness -- and then your idea of a witty comeuppance is along the lines of "thankfully we don't need any other photos, as we have the Production Blog"?

Oh man!

Sorry, but the WETA version is a LOT closer than the LS bust! The LS looks like a bad caricature. Like if Arnold played the WiKi. The only thing the WETA one needs is the wrinkles and it would be dead-on. The SSC, you have to widen it's head above the nose and space out the eyes and stretch the jaw a little. That would be a start.


Just shows that some peoples' love of SSC fogs up their vision. Like when Frodo wears the ring!

Now how did I know the production photo's just wouldn't be enough for some of you guys You guys can whine and complain all you want, but it's not going to change the fact that these are official production shots and they resemble the SS WK, and it won't change the fact this is the sculpt we're getting. It's simple, if you don't like it, then don't buy it. I do, as do alot of other's [if its sold out staue is any indication] and I won't have any problem displaying it beside my WK statue.

I actually had several of these at one time [definitely one of the best Weta busts] but I couldn't afford to hold onto them when they started selling in the $250 range

I still think the Weta bust and statue although they are excellent are not in the likeness of the Witch King but another of the wraiths because for me in the screen shots distorted or not, the WK looks a fatter, heavier build than the Weta representation of him, in the opening scene of the trilogy they show the nine kings of men and he is the front guy (one presumes!!) and he looks like the SS version to me not the Weta version and can I also add that as usual with these pre production photos that when we have this amazing bust in hand it will look 100% better, we've just seen that with the GTW PF which is 1000% better in real life.

As Woodsy says if you don't like it don't buy it, simple as that and so far 600 collectors like it enough to buy it, I'm one of them

The SSW pieces IMO are much better than the LSB. That piece is not one of the best ones I've ever seen come from SS.
