Don Frye was a joke, did u see the match....

Did you see the Fedor - Aoki exhibition match...

I also hear Bobby Lashley ex WWE is fighting Bob Sapp. I dont watch wrestling but why do they say "ex Pro Wrestler" when wrestling's fake.

Yeah.. and tbh I didn't see the point. Japan loves freakshow/David & Goliath match ups so maybe they found it entertaining but I thought it was pointless. Just my opinion, but I think the entire thing was staged and scripted. Keep in mind: the fights on TUF are considered "exhibition" matches as well. So not all exhibition matches have to be fake. Some are though.. just a display of technique etc. Which the Fedor - Aoki match WAS (since there was no striking, and a lot of the takedowns had no follow through).. but also I really got the impression it was scripted with a predetermined ending. I would've liked to see them actually grapple like a ADCC match. I think that would've been interesting. More so than what actually went down.

Yeah the Sapp/Lashley fight has been inked.

Because that term has nothing to do with "real" or "fake". It's called Professional Wrestling. So if you're currently doing it you're a Professional Wrestler, and if you no longer do it you're an "Ex Pro Wrestler". Acting isn't real either, but when someone does it for a living they're referred to as an "Actor/Actress" and when they stop they're called an "Ex Actor/Actress". Pretty easy to understand.

What I don't get is why people focus on that aspect (Pro Wrestling) when it comes to guys like Lesnar and Lashley!? Considering they're both successful collegiate amateur wrestlers. So amateur wrestlers who go straight into MMA are more respected than those that first go into Professional wrestling before MMA!? Makes no sense to me. People act like Brock or Lashley's stints in WWE somehow erased the fact that they're on the same level as Dan Henderson, Matt Hughes, Mark Coleman, Kevin Randleman, Matt Lindland etc. when it comes to collegiate wrestling credentials.

Chuck would KO Franklin. Chuck is still one of the hardest hitters in the sport. The Guy lost to all godd fighters. If he lost to a bum its a different story. And Franklin's is way over-rated he's a B-Level fighter, he got no power. He got good standup but not the 1 punch KO power.

I think NATE QUARRY would beg to differ :lol

Scripted...it wasn't even a real match.

As far as "Pro" Wrestlers coming to MMA, its a big difference between fake fighting and Real. The problems comes when Brock gets a title fight after 2 fights, and a guy Like Lyto has to wait for ever. Then the Big Bucks they give Brock. I dont think its fair to the fighters that been there and worked hard to get there.

As far as the transition, I think the "wrestler" coming in and 'owning' - the Ground n Pound is the past. The fighters evolved, you got to have the complete package now. We seen Mir submit Brock. Thats years of JJ, and its hard to catch up. Brock will get better and better, but if it dont happen fast he's done.

I have a feeling that was all Randy Couture`s doing,he said himself earlier he won`t fight opponents that is not worthy enough for him to continue when he actually has nothing more to prove in this sport. No one gets a shot in their 4th ever MMA fight,1 of them a loss.

As seen also by the fall of Matt Hughes. The long called "most dominant welterweight" had suspect standup, and minimal submission skills. He just can't compete effectively with today's well rounded fighters.

The only reason Brock had a chance to be just a ground and pound wrestler is because he's a damn giant - but Mir on his comeback trail submitted him once. If Mir looks as good as he did with Noguera Brock doesn't stand much of a chance.

So WTF!? First UFC 99 was free. Then it was switched to PPV. Then it was free again.. and now it's back to PPV!? Sucks.

That's actually am really good card but weak main event. The main event should be co-main event at best. Wanderlei is coming off of a really bad KO and Franklin is coming off of a loss from Dan Henderson.

I just saw the Bobby Lashley fight, why are wrestlers crossing over to MMA?

Specifically for Bobby Lashley: He has collegiate level wrestling credentials on par with Brock Lesnar, Mark Coleman, Matt Hughes, Dan Henderson, Matt Lindland, Randy Couture, etc. So it's a natural progression. I've yet to see any Pro Wrestler (WWE, TNA etc.) who had no MMA type of background get into MMA.

I have/had tickets to the event this Saturday, but MUST attend a wedding .....

:banghead:banghead:banghead:banghead

Maybe I can call in sick with Swine Flu. :angelsmil

This event has really died down for me with a bunch of people getting hurt but i still really want to see the main and co main event. Plus Sean Sherk vs. Frankie Edgar.

Cro Cop is rumored to be fighting Al Turk on the Germany card. Good news to me. Hopefully he can return to old form. If not I'll still be happy to see him fight in the UFC again.

That would be a pretty cool plus for that card. It depends what Cro Cop we see though. I think if he loses bad (like a devastating KO or TKO, or just completely gets dominated) then the UFC will say bye-bye. Who knows though. I saw a interview with him that said he will definetly be back in the UFC to prove to people that he belongs their with the best so you might actually be right.
