I hope so. I like Penn but I question his heart, and eventhough I dont like Kenny, he looked good in his last few fights. But fighting an 'A' level fighter in Penn will show Kenny's true colors. Should be a good fight.

Questioning Penn's heart is an easy way to put it. but realize that most of Penn's losses comes in the welterweight division or higher against bigger opponents, with his only loss in the lightweight being to Pulver.

Everyone knows Penn should stay at 155, his body and attributes are just not made to withstand the competition at the next higher weightclass. yet he still pulled off an amazing victory over Hughes to capture the WW title, and he took Machida all the way to a decision at an open weight class. Most fighters since then have got KTFO or beaten up severely by Machida.

I agree Penn has admitted that he has taken training lightly in the past....doing the least possible just to get by. But i think some of it also has to do with his body. to make 170 he puts himself at too much of a disadvantage mainly in the cardio department which we all know.

I like Kenflo a lot, but I just don't see him winning this fight. I think Sanchez would give Penn way more problems tbh.

Agreed and as it seems he(Sanchez) will get the Penn/Kenflo winner I think who ever wins this Saturday will lose to him when they meet.

man i hope not. i'd like to see penn at the top for a long time more. but being realistic, I think sanchez has all the tools and capabilities to GnP Penn effectively. I dont think he could stand up with penn though. I think it would be a really great fight though with Sanchez being a huge 155'er and Penn being used to fighting bigger opponents.

It has already been said that Sanchez will be in the ring to face off with the winner of Penn/Kenflo so it's already green lighted.

Yea if its Penn/Sanchez its will be a good fight. BJ should have the edge in the stand up and Sanchez should have the edge on the ground(top). If its Kenflo/Sanchez i'd say Sanchez beats him agian only easier then before. Your right though Sanchez is a huge lightweight.

Heres the odds for some of the next UFC events, yes cut n paste.

Alessio Sakara +280 vs. Thales Leites -340
Brian Bowles -270 vs. Miguel Torres +210
Frank Trigg +300 vs. Josh Koscheck -365
Lyoto Machida -540 vs. Mauricio Rua +400

Damn. I'm almost tempted to put some on Rua. Some good payouts on these. I don't understand how Bowles is the favorite. I'm guessing typo.

For those that couldn't find the countdown show and didn't see it on tv, or want to see it again here's the link:

It's at the top.

It's not Penn heart that needs questioning it's his stamina. I think his biggest problem is that MMA came too easy for him. He got so good so fast and so easily that it sort of made him a little lazy. When he trains properly he's awesome, when he doesn't he gasses. We'll see who shows up Saturday. Kenny has been doing great but this is going to be a huge test for him. He's hungry and training properly, he's got a shot.

Penn looks pretty motivated and the trash talk isn't there. He might win me back as a fan after this fight. The main and co-main event has high potential for getting all the awards- Submission, KO, and fight of the night.

great match up IMO.
Big fan of both fighters and really cant decide who to go with. I do think a lot of it depends on Penn's training and how seriously he's been taking it. Id think a lot after that loss, but he mentioned before his GSP fight that he used ot take trainign lightly, but was in the best shape of his life and still seemed to gas.

I think these guys are pretty evenly matched. I could see either winning. For some reason Im leaning to KenFlo.

Key to the fight will not be who's best, but who can keep from making a mistake. Either is capable of winning this fight.

I'll be happy with either winning. Just glad I get to see them fight this weekend. :rock

Favorite line from the countdown.

"All my doubters out there think im done....it's not over. it aint over."

Well to be fair, I think anyone would gas vs. GSP. Especially while he's whooping that ass. I don't think I've ever seen BJ gas when he was dominating and winning a fight. It's usually while he's getting served. He looked great vs. Sherk and Stevenson for example.

How about the 2nd fight with Hughes, he was giving Hughes another ass whooping in the first couple of rounds then he gassed and lost.

But yeah, GSP is one of a kind in the cardio department. not many fighters can keep the kind of pace that he does.

Well he says he injured one of his ribs trying to take Hughes' back in the 2 round!? And that's why he suddenly got winded.

Cant forget about the ass woopin he handed to Fitch for 5 rounds with no problems in his cardio whatsoever, GSP is a beast...

Dont remember that. maybe..., but he looked like he had that one in the bag.
