I think I should have respected the wrestling a little bit more. I really was under the impression that we would fight on our feet a little bit better. I thought he would avoid the ground with me and want to knock me out. The times we were on our feet, I was more successful, but the bad news was that we were only on our feet for about 15 seconds in the round and a half that we fought. I got pretty much owned on the ground. I need to work more wrestling, and I also need to put on a little bit more size. I think 245 was a good weight as far as maybe everybody else in the heavyweight division, but fighting Brock, there was too much of a size difference due to the fact that he had great technique also. It wasn't just because of his size that he was able to nullify my technique, but he used his size. He knew how to position his hips, and block my hips, and hold my arm. He did things that I didn't really expect because of his reach. I think I went in with too much of a gameplan, and I wanted it to go one way, and I tried to force it that way.

The funniest part is, Frank is a talker. He's never been one to shy away from an opportunity to talk about himself and brag. Yet post UFC 100 Frank barely had any interviews. Now you can chalk it up to recovery from the ass whooping he got from Brock because seriously, who wants to give an interview when you look like Quasimodo. But still.. Pre-UFC 100 Frank was all over: interviews, YouTube videos, etc. After: barely a peep.

Thanks man. I would have liked to see Mir focus more on leg kicks at least that way he could stay somewhat outside of Lesnar's reach. just soften him up a bit, and slow him down. Lesnar fights with a really wide base and his front leg is out there for the taking.

Even when Thiago attempted leg kicks GSP was able to get the take down more often than not. Similar thing with Lesnar. Frank wanted to stand and I think he purposely avoided any leg kicks in bunches. Not to mention has the speed to shoot from outside and still get a take down. His speed at that weight is insane. Big dudes like 280+ lbs aren't supposed to move like that.

Why M-1 Global is so great:

I just touched base with Joe Silva and he explained this is basically what happened regarding Mousasi:

Mousasi called him Saturday because he suspected he had been lied to by his manager, Api Echteld, regarding an offer of $40,000/$40,000 from the UFC and then encouraged to accept an offer from Strikeforce. According to what Mousasi shared, that amount was less than half of the purse agreement he had with Affliction but he trusted his manager and signed with Strikeforce. The UFC would have honored the Affliction deal of $125,000 purse plus win bonus had Mousasi signed with them.

Contrary to the claim made today by M-1 that Mousasi was on the phone during negotiations with Joe Silva for his services, Joe adamantly denies that is true. Had that been the case, there would have been no reason for Mousasi to call Joe to question Echteld’s claim of a $40,000/$40,000 offer from the UFC.

Appy called Joe yesterday to discuss the issue and Joe told him he knew he lied to Mousasi about the offer because Mousasi personally called him because he (Mousasi) suspected that was the case. Appy then said there must have been some big misunderstanding because Mousasi wasn’t ready for the UFC because it’s the top of the food chain but thinks he will be one day (Mousasi’s record is 25-2-1, he’s on a 9 win streak with his last bout ending in rd. 1 VS Mark Hunt via armbar).

Joe Silva approved the release of these details of our conversation.

Api Echteld was hired as part of the European branch of M-1 Global and use to manage Fedor (not sure about now). He currently manages Mousasi. Api Echteld AND M-1 Global screwed over Mousai and flat out lied to him about an offer the UFC made. Now Mousasi will be fighting for less money in Strikeforce. Must be nice.

I don't see this turning out well. Strikeforce doesn't have any PPV headliners. And with the addition of Fedor, Jacare and Mousasi they STILL DON'T have any PPV headliners. I just don't understand this move. They were doing well because they were small time. Strictly shows in San Jose where they're popular. No PPV. They got the CBS/Showtime deal when EliteXC folded but they lost Kimbo (who was the main draw and got the biggest ratings on CBS). Kimbo is now in the UFC. The shows Strikeforce have done on Showtime and CBS haven't gotten anywhere near the numbers EliteXC got with Kimbo. And now they want to go from that, into PPV!? Not good.

The fans wanted Couture v Fedor but Dana Stopped it, the fans want Fedor v Lesner but Dana needs every penny. Give Fedor the % when he fights. Screw it. I love the UFC they are the best Org. but the stupid war with StrikeForce now just shows how stupid Dana is.

Strikeforce has formed an alliance with Dream. But the problem is 75% of the fans only know the UFC fighters, and not all the other fighters in the world, and if you dont fight in the UFC your garbage, and who cares. Thats a sad statement to MMA. StrikeForce has some great talent, Sheilds v GSP, Le v Silva, Lesner v Fedor, all great fights but will never happen. And the UFC fans dont wanna see them because its the UFC or nothing. A closed minded world of MMA. Its called MMA not the UFC. Too bad not everyone knows that.

That's why on paper both Lesnar and GSP received $400,000 but with the PPV bonus (1.72 million buy rate) GSP made close to 1.5 million and Lesnar made over 3 million. The sticking point was co-promotion which is simply another excuse from Fedor and M-1 to avoid fighting the best fighters.
