Yep. Sick KO. JDS has done more than enough to earn a title shot, but with the Mir/Carwin fight coming up, plus Cain being told he has a shot, plus who knows when someone will actually fight Brock... JDS might be waiting a while. I would absolutely love JDS vs Kongo.

Well Lesnar is slated to fight the winner of Mir/Carwin or if there's an injury to the winner then Lesnar will fight Cain. JDS vs. Kongo would be cool! Or JDS vs. Cain. Or they could do like Strikefarce and give Gonzaga a title shot off the loss ala Bret Rogers getting a title shot vs. Overeem. lol.

Just to clarify though..

Vera wasn't KO'ed or anything. He got hit with an elbow right on his temple (right side) and immediately turtled up and turned away after taking a couple more shots. Looked like he was in pain (maybe something broken!?) more so than him being close to KO'ed. Impressive win.. Jones dominated. But it wasn't a KTFO type of stoppage. lol.

I dont think Jones is going to try and run him over.........in his last fight, he was very patient and more in control. I think its Vera who is going to try and push the pace and put a lot of pressure on Jones. I think if Jones gets him in the clinch, Vera is going to go for a ride, I could see Jones trying to keep this fight on the ground

Honestly, I think JBJ is good enough to take anyone on right now. Vera was hardly an obstacle for him (as we all figured), and I can't really see anybody in the division stopping him on the way to a title shot.

yeah i think all of the above have better ground games than JBJ, so i would be interested to see how the fights would turn out.

I doubt they'll match up Jones with Master'Bader since he's a TUF winner and the UFC tends to protect those guys. But who knows. I would pick Jones.

yeah, Bader would get killed by Jones. First off the reach advantage would totally be in Jones's favor and on top of that Bader is just a wrestler with improving striking...Jones is a beast with wrestling and some good muay thai. Not saying Bader couldnt get a lucky shot, but I just dont see it happening...at least right now.

Agree with everything you said azure, the only minor change I'd make to your list is lil nog at 5 and Jones at 6. Simply because lil nog's win over Luis Arthur Cane means more than Jones' wins over Vera, O'Brien, Bonnar & Gusmao combined when it comes to the UFC LHW division. Cane was close to a title shot. None of Jones' UFC opponents (including Vera) were anywhere near title contention. Minor change.

True. Jones hasnt fought someone who is considered to be in the running for a title shot. I still think Jones is in the Top 5. And where do you guys see A. Silva on the list? I know he has only fought 2 people in the LHW division but still. Top 10 atleast?

Personally I don't rank fighters who aren't permanently in a weight class or fighting regularly in a weight class. You have to maintain a certain level of activity and A.Silva hasn't done that at LHW imo. Also there's no telling if/when he'll fight at LHW again.
