Wow...Griffin gets no love from you guys?

That's fine. He didn't get a chance in hell when he defeated Shogun, when he defeated Rampage, etc. either. Machida is good, but Griffin can beat ANY 205'er on any given night.

And I've got 100 bucks on Carwin. Carwin's hands WILL test Lesnar's chin, and Lesnar - like everyone else so far - will fail the test.

: )

I'm not trying to make excuses for Shogun, but wasnt he injured when he took that fight? He looked completely different in that fight compared to after that fight; he had 0 cardio for that fight. I have no feelings for Griffin either way, but he just hasnt accomplished enough to get respect amognst many fight fans imo. I give him the Rampage win, but he hasnt beaten a lot of talent. He is a good fighter, but not a top fighter. I think the way he performed in the Silva fight led to a lot of ppl just laughing at him now. But now that I think about it, with Ramp coming off of a horrible performance, why not have those 2 go at it again. I would love to see that.

Yes, he was injured. But I come from the group of fans that understand that NO MMA fighter is 100% in every fight. As you get older, it becomes more and more difficult to retain an "injury-free" body.

Every fighter walks into a fight with ailments. Some worse than others. That's just the fight game.

I was also raised to believe that a fight is a fight is a fight. Every fighter can make any excuse they want(and most, like Tito, will), but that doesn't change the outcome. If anything, it does a disservice to the fighter that won.

Like Rampage, who gave all the credit in the world to Griffin after their fight, all of a sudden, had every excuse in the book the next day. Liek Noguiera, after his fight with Mir. Frankly, I'm sick of it. That's why I like fighters like Guillard, Bonnar, Faber, Griffin, Franklin, etc. who do not make excuses.

Ever.

Excuses are like ***holes, everybody's got one.

He also has a chin made of paper mache and a heart that pumps kool-aid. But besides that, he was fun to watch.

I would read a Sapp autobiography. I bet he has some goooooooood stories from his time in Japan.

:lol yeah true.

I'll bet his stories would be something like this except he is the Hulk and the ladies are all Japanese. :)

Oh yeah, Sideshow make this your next Marvel dio. Make it happen.

Shogun was injured for that fight. Yes. He hurt his knee during training, re-injured it during the fight and required surgery for it afterwards.

But here's the thing.. and no one ever really mentions this tidbit: Forrest was ALSO injured during that fight.

He had a shoulder injury that had apparently been a problem for him for awhile, re-injured it during the fight and required surgery for it afterwards (just like Shogun).

Forrest has had a majorly damaged shoulder for quite a long while. The injuries to his shoulder even before his fight with Shogun were exhaustive. You have never heard of it because Forrest never mentions his injuries, whether he has won or lost, after his fights. This surgery was a long time in coming. Everyone felt it was in his best interest to have the surgery now before fighting another top tier fighter. He basically fought Shogun with one arm. Trust me, Forrest wanted to fight Silva in December but that was not to be.

Everyone always says Forrest beat an injured Shogun but the truth is, an injured Shogun was choked out by an injured, one armed Forrest. :lol

lol I have plenty of respect for Forrest since he has come along way as a fighter... but if he fights Machida, I prefer Machida to win. Nothing wrong with that.

Does anyone know the betting odds for the main/co-main events? And where I could look in the future to find out. I'm going to start putting money down.

Very true. I was really looking forward to him fighting Silva because I thought he might be a decent match and get the upset... but then Silva made him look silly.

I was looking forward to it as well, but on paper it was just a baaaaaad match-up for Griffin.

Silva is probably the best counter-striker in the sport and Forrest is aggressive and slow, with ZERO KO power.

What happened is...well...what should've happened.

I'm confident there are tough match-ups for Anderson at LHW, but Forrest is simply not one of them.

I'm expecting similar destruction when Silva fights Chael. Sonnen talks a lot of ****, but he's in for a rude awakening against Anderson.

Chael may talk alot of trash but he knows he's in for one tough fight. He even said in an interview " If Chael Sonnen cant get Silva to the ground, then Chael gets his ass kicked" and yes he spook in 3rd person.

Devil_666 thinks it's stupid when people speak in 3rd person.

Well UFC 119 is on September 25, 2010.

UFC 116 = HW Title Main Event
UFC LHW Champ Shogun is out until atleast October (Knee Surgery)
UFC 117 = MW Title Main Event
UFC WW Champ GSP won't fight Kos until TUF 12 is over. That show starts September 15, 2010.
UFC 118 = LW Title Main Event

There's no Championship matches to bump Rampage vs. lil Nog. So the only way I see it being a co-main event (2nd to last fight) is if they get two HW's to fight.

Another fight that's looking likely is Gonzaga vs. Mir at UFC 120 (England). Makes sense.
