I think coming back from a life threatening illness has humbled Brock.
Glad he managed to come back after all this time and win. He's the true Champ, there is no doubt

that is defn the reason, no doubt about it...............where did you re watch the fights Devil? oh and btw, you still have Fedor at #3? :thud:. Didnt you have him at #3 before he lost?

That was one of the best night of fights since I can remember. Great fights.

Lesnar how does that, in your own words, "golden horse shoe" feel in your rear end? Can't wait for the rematch, just hope he still has the belt then.

Next time, Carwin will finish what he started. :lol

Now for UFC 117. I wonder if Anderson learned any new dance moves.

I'm sure you guys all posted this already, but one of the rare cards where EVERY fight was good. Usually there are some dubs, but this one was all gold

Anyone has a link to complete Brock fight without interuption ? Thanks.

where did you re watch the fights Devil?

https://mmahits.com/

This site always has the main fights for a PPV card up a couple hours after the event. If the video is down just keep checking back, they're good about re-upping video links.

I have him at #4 now. He was #3 before he lost. Keep in mind, I use the original Boxing definition of P4P so it's very different from the way most people use it for MMA. My P4P list is purely about skill, and how one fighters skill set compares with another fighters skill set regardless of weight.

Brock is definitely the #1 HW in the world right now though. Just not P4P top 5 for me (or even top 10 if I made that list). But I use a different definition like I said. So I won't be surprised if Brock's name starts popping up on top 10 P4P lists.

Kinda funny..

Brock Lesnar just tied the UFC record for most consecutive HW Title defenses with Randy Couture, Tim Sylvia and Andrei Arlovski: 2 a piece. Couture still holds the record for most HW title defenses overall though (3 between 2 different HW Title reigns).

He's the only HW fighter in MMA history (that I know of!?) to ever beat 3 Top 5 ranked HW opponents consecutively (#3 Couture, #2 Mir and #3 Carwin).

He just tied the record for most Top 10 HW wins in a row with Fedor: 3 each. Fedor still holds the record for most Top 10 HW wins overall though (7 which includes Big Nog x2).

And dude is only 5-1 in MMA.

:slap

Hats off to brock,he survived some heavy punches like no one have survived from Carwin before.Carwin really wasted his chance by throwing unneccessary punches when brock was covering himself the way he did,he got tired and Brock took him down easliy,Carwin does have terrible cardio and hopefully will learn from this fight.

I was impressed by Leben for the first time in a long time, his ground game was incredible and even on his back he kept busy, what have kept him going in his fights is his strong Chin, some have knockout power...but Leben has the best gift of them all,a chin that can take punches all night and still not go down.
I feel so sorry for Mike Swick who has been one of my favourites since the TUF show,he has a weak chin and no matter how fast hands he has,he doesn't hit hard, kinda feels undeserving that a fighter like Leben that have fought like a slob for a long time and the only thing that keeps him winning is the rock hard chin while Mike Swick is a much more talented and hard working guy that doesn't have any advantages that can't be improved by training.

Leben has been lucky, that is all i can say,but like i allready said his performance today impressed me.

Anderson Silva disagrees. :lol

Besides Silva being a freak of nature at that weight class, Leben's style is the wrong style to beat Silva...at least in their 1st fight.

Hilarious though.. "After he gets in there with me and I knock him out he may wanna go back to Japan or somewhere where the competition is a little easier.." :lol

So according to Carwin he didn't gas. But what he describes here sounds like fatigue to me!? Anyone?

“The game plan last night was to be patient and let the fight come to you,” Carwin wrote Sunday on his blog at https://www.shane-carwin.com. “When I had him in trouble, the ref (kept) saying he was going to stop it and then towards the end of the (first round), my body began to seize up. In between rounds I could not move my legs and had what felt like a whole body cramp. My cardio was fine, but my body was not. What can you do? You have to stand up and face your opponent.”

The second round was a much different story. Lesnar scored a takedown early, moved to mount briefly and then jumped to the side to submit Carwin with an arm-triangle choke at 2:19.

“Heading into the second, I knew I (needed) to finish the fight or I was going to be in trouble,” Carwin wrote. “Much like the champion he is, I am sure Brock was thinking the same thing. I had zero takedown defense, as my legs were dead to me and the rest is, as they say, history.”

The loss was Carwin’s first in 13 professional fights. He said on his blog that losing is what happens on the way to winning and promised to be back better than ever.

“Brock was a good guy through this entire fight,” Carwin wrote. “He did not talk a bunch of smack and he fought like a warrior. He did what he needed to do to keep his belt, and that is what being a champion is all about. I am going to have to claw my way back to the top, but I wouldn't want it any other way. I know I belong with the very best; all I need to do is prove it again.”

When you get body cramps and stuff that's from fatigue, right? Another way of saying "gassing out" right!? I'm confused. :D

Well you guys told me not to listen to fighters and this is a good example. His body cramped up because he had little oxygen for his over worked muscles and could have also been dehydrated. Sounds like fatique to me. He just needs some rest and Bengay.

It'd be a similar defeat if they fought again.
