Two years ago, Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza faced Gegard Mousasi at Dream’s middleweight tournament final, but couldn’t take the title back to Brazil. At August 21, the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt will have the opportunity to win Strikeforce middleweight belt against Tim Kennedy. Jacaré didn’t confirmed to TATAME that the bout will be for the middleweight championship, but sources close to the fighter informed TATAME that it’ll be a five rounds fight for the 185lbs title. On the same night, Rafael “Feijão” Cavalcante faces King Mo Lawal for the light heavyweight title.

Exactly. I just find the obsession funny because honestly, who cares!? I've never watched Boxing because of Don King or Bob Arum. And I've never watched MMA for Dana White, Scott Coker, Gary Shaw (EliteXC), etc.

A lot of MMA fans are like obsessed with Dana White. Go to a Boxing forum and try to find a thread about Don King or Bob Arum. It'll be hard. Then go to an MMA website and watch how easily you find a million threads about Dana White. It's kinda pathetic.

I guess this is kinda the reason why we also have our spats. You like to present your opinion as a "fact" where most others present their opinions as...well...an opinion. No offense, but that's just how I see it. I'll also try to refrain from commenting about posts of yours in the future.

Don King controls a few dozen fighters. More-so in the 80's and 90's. Bob Arum as well.

Dana White is the president of an ENTIRE organization that has HUNDREDS of fighters on a contract. He controls around 90% of what goes in in the biggest MMA org. in the world. One of boxing's largest problems is that there is not even close to a unifying body(while I know that UFC is not, either, it's sure as **** closer than the cluster**** that is boxing. And that's coming from a boxing fanatic).

If you can't see the differences between the two...


Besides, you should try to relax. No one here is saying that Dana White is a piece of crap or a mother******, or some-such. I simply stated that he has broken promises before and will do so again in the future.

I agree. And to discount what Dana has meant to the sport is ridiculous. The sport was on its deathbed before White took control and he has turned a near-death sport into the fastest rising sport in the world.

The man is also an AWESOME dude to his fans and goes out of his way to make sure each and every fan has a photo/autograph, etc.

Dana White, however, will always be a polarizing figure for his comments, and controversial attitude.

While I do agree, Dana white has changed MMA in the United States which in turn caused more people to take it more seriously around the world but MMA was around long before Dana. Brazil and Japan were doing it long before the US.

Again though I will agree that Dana white has put it in the fore front and made it a legit sport. So you cant deny the fact that Dana is important.

I don't have "spats" with people on here. I just go with the flow. If people wanna discuss something, I do that. If people wanna get immature and talk crap I can do that aswell. Not a big deal to me. That's why you can see me getting into a "heated" argument with someone (after they take it there) and right afterwards being completely cool with that person. It doesn't matter to me, I don't hold grudges or anything retarded like that.

My point is, who cares about him or any other promoter. Again, I watch the UFC because of the fighters. Not Dana White. I watch Strikeforce because of the fighters. Not Scott Coker.
