Give us a break down on the things he went back on.

1. Kimbo in the UFC
2.

Are you serious?

:rotfl:rotfl:rotfl:rotfl

1. Kimbo
2. Chuck Liddell.
3. Any fighter that does NOT sign the videogame contract with THQ or signs with the competition would be kicked out of the UFC.
4. Saying the winner of "so-and-so" fight will result in a title shot(and it didn't)
5. Saying he would never do a "freak show fight" ala James Toney. Which is a recent interview, he admitted he did.

If you want more, I'll try and search for them.

You're right. I'm on a caffeine high and didn't comprehend what I was reading. :panic::panic::panic:

And yeah, Daikken, he said that any fighter who refused to sign a contract with THQ and/or signed with EA MMA would never fight in the UFC.

A few fighters had HUGE problems with this, naturally, as they are not making any money off the deal and if they were no longer with the UFC, it would prevent them from signing with other companies.

That was a long time ago, though. So two of the fighters that were a part of this dispute(Couture and Hendo) no longer apply.

Koscheck and Fitch(and I think Velasquez), coincidentally all AKA guys had big problems with the contract but in the end, said the terms were changed to make things better on "their" end.

lol Dana should change his name to Dana Soprano. Thats just silly of him to do that.

Hope Hendo wins his next fight.

I love Hendo.

Always have. Met him at a Strikeforce signing, along with King Mo, a few months ago. Extremely nice guy in person. Went with my then girlfriend at the time, who is Native American. She is probably the biggest Hendo fan in the world(because he too, is part Native American).

She dressed up like a ****, put on more make up then I've ever seen, and wore a skirt so short, she looked like a hooker from Amsterdam When we broke up, I actually cheered for Shields not expecting in all hell that he would win.

**** her. That's why Hendo lost to Shields. : )

Now that he did, and it made her angry, I can root for him again.

What? lol, I liked when he said he tapped out King Mo in a rear naked choke but showed the move as a guillotine.

:dunno

Edit: I said it before, I'll say it again, Halwani is an EXCELLENT interviewer. James Toney...

God...as a HUGE boxing fanatic, and a Toney fan, a nickname has never been more un-fitting. While Couture CAN be KO'ed if he decides to stand and trade with him...he won't. And Toney thinks too highly of his KO power that he really NEVER had.

Should be good.

Randy is either going to take this to the ground quick or push him up against the cage and sap his energy. I doubt Toney will be able to do anything off of his back.

Ok I stopped after a minute. I might take him seriously if he ever manages to make a complete sentence that is comprehendible, and mumble free.

Took a while to catch up. When your computer goes down and Fedor loses and Brock wins over Carwin the way he did, WOW. The HW division is really interesting, really looking forward to Cain pulling out a darkhorse victory if he can. If not, Lesnar vs Carin 2 at sometime.

I'm glad Dana is left wondering why the hell he signed James Toney. These kind of fights are useless, I want to see Couture legitimately climb the LWH rankings instead of leap frogging over cans..

hahaha what a great movie. There is no need to try and take him serious.

That was in 2007. In 2008 in an interview with Dana White, and followed with an interview with Alistair, it was stated that he was UFC bound. Dana wanted him and he wanted to be there.

It never happened.

It never happened because other than Dana saying he wanted Overeem and Overeem saying he wanted to fight in the UFC, nothing concrete formed. It's not like they went into negotiations, had meetings and couldn't come to an agreement. Overeem was signed to DREAM at that time. Same contract he STILL has with them.

The UFC doesn't negotiate with signed fighters. They've stated it numerous times before. And that's because they don't want OTHER orgs negotiating and trying to steal their fighters. :lol

Not to mention Overeem was/is still involved in K-1 and that's not gonna fly with the UFC. So other than public statements from both sides it never got to the point of negotiations from my understanding.

He was supposed to make his title defense against Rogers on the June 6th, 2009 Strikeforce card, but injured his hand in a nightclub brawl and would not fight until almost a year later.

And according to Overeem, even then he was still not signed to Strikeforce. His management was approached with that fight and they accepted but again, no contract according to him.

From 2007-2009, you can blame it on Strikeforce. I'll lay the blame on Alistair, since, as a Free Agent, he HAD numerous opportunities to sign with the bigger org. but chose not to.

I thought we were talking about Strikeforce. Not the UFC. So how is that relevant!? :dunno

Was he taking PED's? **** yes, IMO.

Until he fails a drug test, it's just speculation. I just find it funny how everyone says Overeem is "obviously" on something because of his build and growth when he's never tested positive yet flabby dudes like Tim Sylvia (1x) and Josh Barnett (x3) HAVE tested positive for roids. It's always the buff ones, right? Oh wait.. :slap

The last 12 months? You want to blame the hand injury Alistair received at a nightclub on Strikeforce? Really?

:dunno I'll explain it again. The reason I blame Strikeforce is because since 2007 (after winning their HW Title) Strikeforce didn't sign Overeem i.e. THEIR HW champion to a contract until March or April of 2010 a few months before he finally fought Brett Rogers.

His hand injury is irrelevant. Did that magically stop Strikeforce from re-signing him!? :rotfl

First they let him fight for their title with only one fight left on his contract. Then when he won the title, they never approached him to re-sign. They didn't even offer him a fight until 2009. And even then, they still hadn't re-signed him and wouldn't re-sign him until 2010.

You seriously don't see anything wrong with that?

Which is why it makes sense to me. Why let him fight for their title if he only has 1 fight left on his contract!? Give him Bigfoot Silva. See what happens. If he decides to leave after that fight who cares. SF should use his loss and the Werdum rematch as leverage to renegotiate with M-1 and Fedor.

Exactly my friend!! If he loses who cares, but if he wins and wants a shot at the title...sign on the dotted line.

So according to TATAME looks like Jacare will be fighting Tim Kennedy for the vacant Strikeforce MW title. Kinda sucks because I was excited for the tourney they talked about.

Well i gotta say I think Jacare is going to take it as long as he doesnt gas. Tim Kennedy is no easy fight, but still my money is on Jacare.
