I know most ppl are picking Machida, but it would not be an upset if Ramp can pull it off and I wouldnt put it past him now that we have seen Machida beaten..............twice :monkey1:lol

Oh I know he'll look better. Griffen and Evans both = a 10 month lay off for Rampage before the fights. Both also = losses for him. Now he's scheduled to fight Machida in November (which is only 6 months away).

But I agree.. don't think it'll matter much.

It is worth noting though, Rampage has never lost two fights in a row. And after a loss, 6 out of 7 times in his next fight Rampage has won by (T)KO.

People thought Fedor was unbeatable but it happened. But that tidbit makes me look forward to the fight even more. Rampage better slam Machida through the Octagon floor.

Bones' fight is coming up soon along with Silva vs some loser. :hi5:

Can a fight between two top level guys ever be considered an "Upset" though!? Both Machida AND Rampage are universally ranked top 5.. so it's not like one is a can. :lol

I wouldn't be shocked if Rampage won. Nothing shocks me in the UFC LHW division because it's so stacked ANYONE can win.

Thats why the belt keeps getting passed around. that whore. :lol

I think someone mentioned, if Machida comes in there overly aggressive looking for the quick KO or quick finish, Rampage might drop him, but if Machida sticks and moves like he usually does I think Quintons worse enemy will be his non leg checking tactics and his cardio...so basically if he doesnt come in prepared hes already lost. At the same time, the LHW's go back and forth all day long so who really knows. My opinion though...as much as like Quinton, I think Machida takes it by decision.

I'm still not sold on Jon Jones.

yeah same here. just like Faber...everyone thought he was the best thing since sliced bread with his unorthodox striking style...until he finally fought a sound striker with power in his hands. same thing will happen to Jones.

While I do agree, I think the dude is awesome. Hes exciting and thats all I care about. If he doesnt get the belt...makes no difference. I'll admit Im on the hype train for Jon Jones. I like him, but he is really young and lacks experience and as noted, once he fights a solid striker that figures out his unorthadox striking it could be over, Jones is one of my favorites.

I think he is great to watch too. but he hasn't fought anyone that i consider to be the top of the division yet. so his true potential still remains to be seen.

I agree, he hasnt really been tested. I think hes going to steamroll Vlady as well. I think its one of those things where Dana knows hes exciting so hes giving him fights where he can be exciting and then once they (UFC) feel its time they might give him a title shot. Right now I think they know people like to watch Jones fight so there banking on it.

he doesnt really lack that much experience, he already has 11 fights, I dont recall how many of them I have seen, but it looks like he is fighting high school kids out there cause no one has come close to testing him and he has beaten some good fighters easily. Its the fact that he has steam rolled over everyone that makes him look impressive, but we will never know how good he is until he fights a top 5 guy.

Vera wasnt a solid striker? He has some of the best muy thai in the UFC. Bones has some of the best takedowns at the moment as well, and can finish guys on the ground, so even if he meets a superior striker, I think he would have no prob finishing it on the mat

I'm not buying completely into the Jones hype but I do agree with most of it. I definetly think he's a future champion.

I think Bader will wind up being better than him though. Bader has a stronger wrestling background. Jones's wrestling is good from what we have seen but it is more Greco and Judo. Bader has an awesome pedigree in wrestling and the most dominant champions(not named Silva) always have wrestling. Both Jones and Bader are young and improving and that, in my opinion, is the scariest part.

Jones has unorthodox striking/graplling and isn't afraid to pull the trigger. Bader has really good wrestling and is strong with one punch KO power. I think both will hold the LHW belt at some point in time. I just think Bader will be more dominant when he does. When we watch Jones and Bader fight we are watching the future of the LHW division mature.

Two things I hope doesn't happen:
1. I hope Jon Jones doesn't fill out to the point where the weight cut is too hard for him and he has to go to HW or is drained at LHW.
2. Bader doesn't fall in love with his striking - ex. Evans, Koscheck

So you want Bader to basically focus on his wrestling? You like the spooning huh? Kidding.

I think Both guys are talented and cant wait for their next fights.
