The Vile One
Freaked Out
Babalu turned it down because he was afraid of getting his ____ pushed in by King Moneyweight Mo.
Yep...........dont get it, and now it is bothering me cause I am curious what their train of thought is. If I was a proffessional fighter, I would fight whoever it takes to be a champion. Loyalty only gets you so far in this world; I would say it holds ppl back from reaching their true potential. If thats the case, I really hope Rashad doesnt win the title back, but I dont know who else is gonna fight for a interim belt.
Again I feel its because Babalu is afraid of getting destroyed again like he did against Mousasi.
But yeah, fighting isn't a team sport. A fighters goal should be to become champion. Being champion means more exposure, more money, bigger paydays. If Koscheck becomes champ, does that mean Fitch is taking his hat out of the ring because he refuses to fight his friend?
And what about school? So you didnt do good on test because you didnt want to do better than your friends? No, you tried to get good grades to get into school. It should be the same with fighting. Your job is to fight to get money for you and your family. I think these guys need a kick in the ass.
Jon Fitch said:To me there’s no reason to fight a teammate. It’s not a fight we’re interested in at all. It’s a situation where, if Koscheck is able to win the belt and defend the belt, I’ll move up to 185.
I have a good size frame. I could put on 15 pounds. I might take a month off to put on some weight, but it’s a tall order to beat Georges and defend the belt. That process would take a year from now, and I’ll have fought every other welterweight worth fighting by that time so it’d almost be time to move up anyways.
except with fighting.............there tends to be a pain factor involved with hands being bashed into ppls faces. You defn dont see that train of thought in other sports, so it must be the bashing your friends face in theory
This is what I was saying about Fitch and Kos:

It's at like 2:15 where he's asked.

So that train of thought is only in the MMA? lame
Give me a better excuse azure then "bashing your friends face in theory".
..............I dont have one. As a competitor in any sport I have participated in; I had no problem going out and trying to beat my friends that were on the other side of me. We were still friends at the end, but its just MY competetive nature, I cant say the same for these other guys. I would expect the same out of my friends to be as competetive, so my only theory is the fact that they just dont have the will to go out and there and compete, even if it means temporarily hurting a friend. Why compete in the first place then?
Here's my problem with all this. Jon Fitch is arguably the #2 or #3 welterweight in the world. He's won all his big fights at welterweight. He's going to turn down guaranteed big money for another title fight because he won't fight Koscheck? He's going to turn down a chance at immortality greatness and excellence because of that?
He goes up to middleweight he's got to start all over. Middleweight is equally crowded right now with another unbeatable looking champion.
Just saying. True men, true competitors will get their blood up and do it. Sasuke and Naruto wanted to fight each other in Naruto despite being buddies because they knew they both were the best and wanted to test each other.
Kos carries the same line of bull. Kos says if he wins it, it's like the whole team winning the Stanley Cup. BOOO-URNS!
I dunno to me it's not just about winning the title. If you are the best or claim to the be the best, wouldn't you want to be tested and fight the best as well?
