why is there a tournie? isnt overeem all ready the champ? shouldnt the rest of the guys fight to get a shot at him?

It's not really a tournament in the traditional sense. It's more like regular match making than anything else. For instance, there's no set brackets i.e. if these two guys win they'll fight next. Basically SF announced 4 proposed match ups and after the winners are decided SF will announce two more match ups (which would be the Semi-final bouts). Not to mention there's no definitive dates/events or signed contracts for the other two proposed match ups (Barnett vs. Rogers and Overeem vs. Werdum) AND SF has no clue if/how Barnett will fight since the hearing for his THIRD failed drug test (Steroids) is still pending in CA.

So it's being called a tournament but in reality it's not. I'll be surprised if it actually all plays out.

Remember that MW tourney SF held? Me neither.

Bravo in the UK has shown Strikeforce events (from Showtime and CBS). Not sure if they were shown live and are routinely shown though (i.e. every event SF does).

Well you should care (if you really like him as a fighter/like watching him fight) because his outside life reflects on his status as a fighter. Especially in the UFC.

Case in point: Chael Sonnen has been suspended from the UFC indefinitely.

So no UFC 128, no nothing. His contract is frozen until he settles that outside matter.

Yeah i think the suspension is just because they dont want him doing anything else that is going to make UFC look bad since hes going to get known as that "UFC fighter" or that "ultimate fighter" plus no need to worry about upcoming fights if you wont be around.

All that aside, as much as I like Sexiyama Chael would have beat him probably.

I'd rather see Lesnar on the show but I guess he's holding his own against Dana. The only thing I heard on Brock from last UFC was Dana saying he cant fight in WWE Wrestlemania.
