Vera is no suprise. Hes looked nothing but aweful and hasnt shown anything. The 155 lb division is too stacked now, you lose 2 fights in a row and your toast.

Yeah the way UFC is cutting guys, Bellator and Strikeforce can build pretty good rosters off ex UFC guys.

Yup. Dana can rag on Strikeforce and call them the minor leagues but the UFC was once nothing but a joke. If strikeforce had someone who knew what they were doing then they'd be a serious force. Only a matter of time.

The biggest problem with SF is the HUGE gap in between events. The minute they actually build some momentum they disappear for months and by then no one could give a ____.

And Coker is talking about PPV again, maybe at the end of 2011/the start of 2012. If that happens.. expect their name and logo to appear on Dana's tombstone of dead orgs shortly there after.

I still don't understand why MMA companies actually think Fedor can sell PPV's in the U.S. when he's already proven 4 times that he can't. And it goes beyond just him: NO ONE in Strikeforce (in any combination) can sell PPV's. Hell Affliction put on TWO stacked cards back to back with a lot of the people currently in SF and they couldn't sell over 100,000 for either. :lol

yep...it all goes back to how UFC markets to the casual fan. These other orgs...the only people there getting are the hardcores. So when they have shows/events hardcores know what to look for or where to go to find info, while your casuals only know when the next UFC is and dont care about some small tourney even if it does have Ex UFC fighters because the casuals mostly dont know the guys by name anyways unless its Randy or Chuck for example.

I was listening to an interview the other day with the guy who runs a small tourney in Vegas and he was saying half the time he goes to the UFC events to pass out flyers and half the people dont care. He was saying he sees all these people who are dressed up and looking pretty. He said those people arent fight fans, they just wnat there 15mins of fame to wave at the camera and spot celebrities then on Monday go to the water cooler and say "I was at ultimate fighting on Saturday" UFC does a great job of reeling those people in and taking there money.

Back to what I was saying, the hardcores are the ones who will watch UFC, and then love it or hate it tune in for Strikeforce and Bellator and anything else they can get. It pisses me off. I remember when my wife and I went to Strikeforce Miami when Nick was fighting Zaramskis (sp) and like 2 big groups around us got up and left right before there fight and I heard the guy go... "we want to beat the traffic"...wtf really. Yet during half the fights all I kept hearing them talk about was Anderson Silva being the greatest at the time. Its like great, Anderson is awesome, but there are live fights going on right now in front of you jack-holes why not watch them...you paid to be here. Dammit, ok im done.

I feel you, man.
ALL that stuff pisses me off too.
I hate people like that.

:lecture Exactly. I know a lot of people who still think UFC fights are a joke.

Just check MMA forums and youtube and you'll find a ton of people who dont like the UFC... but masterbates to it religiously.

One of few things that keeps Strikeforce around is that the hardcore fans say "Atleast its not PPV".

UFC 130 Rampage vs Silva

Should be a good one, both guys like to strike but Silva showed a good ground game last fight so who knows.

I think that should be a good fight. Quinton likes guys who stand in the pocket and exchange with him. I think Thiago will want to do that and they'll go all out. The difference will be if Thiago cant handle it will he be smart enough to try and take quinton down or will he be stubborn and just keep standing in the pocket. I think
Quinton takes that one.

1) I thought when he fought Machida that winner got a title shot

2) I thought he wanted a re-match against Machida because of the controversial decision

After winning against Machida (whether controversial or not, it's a win), fighting Silva is like a step backwards.

pretty much, but if we see a in shape Ramp, it should be his fight. Thats the key, we dont know which Ramp will show up, but i will stick with him. After all, i was the only one who picked him to beat Machida :wink1:

1) No, because Rampage just lost his #1 contender spot when he lost to Rashad. I dont know, but either the winner of Jones and Bader will get the title shot after Rashad/Shogun or the winner of Jones/Bader will face the winner of Ramp/Silva will get the title shot. Im thinking closer to the later circumstance.

2) Yes, he did want a rematch, but Dana said no rematch right after the fight. It really wasnt a controversial decision at all imo.

Fighting Silva, maybe a step backwards, but waiting for the winner of Jones/Bader is way too long of a break for him, so Silva would be next up after those 2 guys. Its a good fight for him. Just cause Vera couldnt do shiat on the ground to get up, i dont see Silva dominating him if the fight goes there.

No such thing as a "step backwards" for former champs like Rampage. Every fight, even if it's irrelevant pushes them closer to another title shot. That's the benefit of previously being a champ. With his win over Machida and an exciting win over T.Silva I could definitely see Rampage getting the winner of Shogun and Rashad since it sets up two rematches that Rampage lost.

Looks like Brock and JDS will be the coaches for TUF 13, I assume they will fight for the interim HW belt
