i hate clay so much, he didnt do anything i that fight. Yeah he keeps puts you on the fence and well...stays there. I love how hes like give me a title shot and i'll make it exciting or whatever the ____ he said. What a boring snoozer of a fighter he is.

He may not be the best finisher in MMA, but he has been getting better. He fought against an excellent striker, and controlled him and the pace of the fight for three rounds. The dude is a classy guy, and probably gets the most "pop" of any fighters on the roster.

His fight vs. Sanchez was one of the best fights of the last five years.

Pettis will have his chance in the future. :)

That was a good fight. Glad Sanchez won. :nana:

Guida has more Submission/(T)KO wins than Decisions (19 to 9). He won his last 3 fights ALL by sub. And he has more finishes than Jon Fitch AND Jake Shields. Yet people still consider him a LnP/boring fighter. I seriously don't get it. :lol

you didn't think last night was a boring performance on his end? Even if ppl think his style is exciting, last night wasn't very impressive. He didn't land one good shot the whole fight from what I saw. When he goes against guys that can stop his takedowns, he has nothing to fall back on.

I've never considered Guida a boring fighter... but he slept on Pettis last night and said his prayers.

Last night was, indeed, a "boring performance." But every fighter has them.

The most exciting fighters have them.

Anderson Silva has them.

Diego Sanchez has had them.

Rampage has them.

GSP has them all the time. :rotfl

Guida deserves the benefit of the doubt. He fought a great gameplan, neutralized Pettis' attack, and won in convincing fashion.

I thought Guida's performance was great. He completely took Pettis out of his game and dominated him with wrestling. Even off of his back Pettis can be dangerous but Guida did a hell of a job nullifying anything that Pettis tried to do.

Was it an exciting performance? No.

But it was a great performance seeing that Guida did everything he needed and probably wanted to do in that fight.

Best thing about that fight excitement-wise was the spinning back kick Pettis did off the fence. :lol

yea, he landed it good too. That kick was more difficult than his first one. Pettis was winning the stand up, he should have stopped trying to submit Guida from the bottom; I think the last time and only time Guida was ever subbed from the bottom was against Huerta. It would have been best for him just to try and sweep or push off with his legs.
