GSP vs. Nick Diaz is set for UFC 137 Oct. 29 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. According to Cesar Gracie, Nick signed a multi-fight, multi-year contract with the UFC.

awesome. better than a GSP vs Silva fight.

Wow. Not in my opinion, dude.

There's probably about 3-4 guys GSP has fought in the last 2 years that would've run straight through Diaz. Don't get me wrong, this is a nice fight...but to think it's on the level of GSP/Silva is crazy.
:panic:

I'm one of the few people that don't care about catchweight/super fights between guys in different weight classes. But I will say this..

GSP vs. A.Silva > GSP vs. Diaz

Diaz has been avoiding wrestlers since he was booted out of the UFC and there's a reason for that: Wrestlers dominate him. Period.

A.Silva vs. GSP is a much more intriguing match-up IMO. I say Diaz gets absolutely outclassed and dominated vs. GSP.

i would love to see GSP vs Silva but I just dont see it happening anytime soon. GSP is too small and most likely get rocked by Silva, especially if he has to gain alot to make weight.

Besides, I would love to see Nick get his ass whoop.

I don't think Diaz will win, but what I am hoping for is for Diaz to push GSP into actually finishing a fight. I think he might fear the striking enough to wrestle a dominant decision though.

yea, I agree with the others. Should be a farely one sided event unless Diaz gets lucky. I always enjoy a Diaz beating. I would much rather see Silva and GSP. GSP is one of the few fighters in the UFC that actually have a legitimate chance at beating him. Besides Jones, GSP, and a roided up Sonnen, who else legitimately has a better than average chance at knocking off Silva?

hopefully okami :lol

That's what they've said about every opponent he's fought since Chris Leben. When will people realize Anderson Silva only loses to smaller, Japanese fighters. :lol

I really like Anderson and Nick and I just sort of like gsp. Hes a great fighter, I just want him to get beat. I'll even add as much as I like Anderson it would be cool if he got beat as well. I just want to see some new match ups...thats all im asking for

ha ha ha, its all good man. Beleive me I like Anderson more than I like GSP, but I think it would be intersting to see A. Silva get beat and have to fight his way back up or again my initual request of just some different match ups before Anderson takes the belt back.

The Sonnen fight was basically that except he pulled out the win. I'm sure he thought he couldnt be beaten but in the fight I know he was scared that he might lose.

If Anderson beats Okami, who the hell is next? I think they should consider 2 vs 1.

Heres my thing Im talking a person that can hold onto the belt. Even if say Chael won that fight, I dont see him holding it very long. His "im a wrestler w/Gnp" wouldnt last very long. He would lose it pretty quick, not to say someone else wouldnt either, but again im just bias because I dont like Chael regardless.

:horror
Is that what he told the other prisoners?

Solid night of free fights tomorrow. Hope Pettis wins without any injuries and Guillard wins at UFC 132 without any injuries so they headline UFC "Battle on the Bayou." That would be amazing for me since it will be my first time attending a live event. Imagine the standup battle between those two!

On a side note Rick Story has some balls jumping in on short notice against Marquardt. Rick didn't run through Alves by any means and did take some big shots. Shows how determined he is for the belt. He's going to be earning many fans in a short amount of time.

If Story gets by Nate, I'll be a believer. I don't think it's going to happen though.

Nate is the more technical but suffered deafeats from big wrestlers (Sonnen, Okami). Now he drops down to try and avoid the big wrestlers and his first fight is a huge WW wrestler in Story. Plus we don't know how the weight cut will affect Nate and how he will look.

WW is not as cleared out as people think.
