I wonder how fast the UFC will push him up the ladder into title contention if Story pulls out the W? They shot Jones up, and Phil Davis was put into the picture pretty quick too. Granted, those were injury related (and Ramp not being ready to take on Rua) circumstances.

Either way, I could see Nate or Rick (whoever wins) stringing together a couple wins and getting a title shot. Who's left to face GSP after the Diaz fight?

Nate is the more technical but suffered deafeats from big wrestlers (Sonnen, Okami). Now he drops down to try and avoid the big wrestlers and his first fight is a huge WW wrestler in Story. Plus we don't know how the weight cut will affect Nate and how he will look.

WW is not as cleared out as people think.

there's always going to be young up and comers, but even if Story wins, I don't think he would be ready for a title shot, especially after the way he beat Alves. If your winning your fights without actually fighting, then there's a lot of room for improvement there. He has to put on an impressive performance against Nate to really show something. In the UFC, winning isn't enough, how you win is just as important.

I thought Jones was capable of winning the belt even before the Bader fight; that's the difference between him and Davis/Story. They have a lot of work to do. There aren't many fighters, if any, that were rolling through their opponents like Jones was. Everyone just wants to see GSP fight Silva, any other fight just sounds boring, unless it involves a Diaz brother getting his face bashed in.

I would imagine if Story won, they'd match him up with the winner of Fitch/Penn. Winner gets a title shot vs. the winner of GSP/Diaz.

You guys heard about the backlash from that? A few fighters aren't happy about Diaz getting an immediate title shot.

It's just a rumor, but I had heard that the UFC was actually thinking about scrapping the Fitch/Penn fight and matching up Shields with Fitch. It's just a rumor though.

Fitch is out for like 5 months I thought? Koscheck is out for a long time also. Alves's stock just dropped.

Mike Pierce deserves a big named opponent. 3 fight win streak + he put up a hell of a fight with Fitch and dropped him in the first round.

Ellenberger broke his hand I think but deserves a high profile fight.

Throw in the winner of Condit/Kim and WW isn't looking too bad.

Hes so worried about keeping the pressure on that he doesnt even give himself enough space to strike or do anything. He spends 75% of the round just controlling the position by keeping the guy pinned so noone gets a chance to do anything not even himself. He just trys to fool everyone by jumping around and making it look like hes got some kind of skill by swinging his hair around. He just pisses me off.
